Things I cannot say out loud....

Oh really, 70+ year old woman who has never had children or taken care of babies, really when a child is learning to walk the child needs to be watched so it doesn't bang it's head on things?
Really?

No SHIT Sherlock. I guess we should probably discourage her from playing with the stove elements and in the dryer as well. How about playing with a hair dryer in the bathtub, is that okay?

FFS.

Hairdryer in the bathtub is an important part of learning. As is playing with an open flame, teetering on the edge of cliffs, and throwing sharp objects. Didn't you know? :haha:

Don't let her get to you, you're doing a fab job :hugs: Just imagine everything she says as literally water off a ducks back! Simple "yes, I know, thank you" replies and change the subject :flower: Although I know from experience that it's easier said than done! x

Oh I try - she just has a KNACK for saying and doing things that drive me bonkers! When we're with her, I just smile, etc - but I have to vent later or I'll explode!! :haha: I'm sure you understand

I can't say this out loud coz of how guilty everyone feels and how terrible it was I don't want fil to feel even worse than he does now.
Yesterday me Flynn and pil went to a soft play center, thoroughly enjoyed it, had the place to ourselves most of the time so fil and I could scramble round all the levels with Flynn and he loved it, we were getting ready to leave and I was standing at a table packing up his bag while fil say at the next table em with Flynn, he had Flynn sat on the table and was holding him with one arm while they played with a balloon Flynn got a bit excited and threw himself sideways, over fils arm and off the table, I saw it happening in slow motion but couldn't reach to grab him, he fell all the way to the solid wood floor and hit the side of his head before the rest of him landing, he screamed, I was terrified but couldn't show it coz mil was in tears and fil wasn't far behind so I was trying to calm Flynn down check he wast seriously injured (luckily he wasn't but does have an impressive bump) and calm both pil down at the same time! I didn't realise till just now that at least three staff saw it happen and not one came to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything! I'll be complaining to them later I just wanted to get away from there get Flynn on my own and check him over, he passed the "concussion checks"
Fil says he will never hold him again and thinks I'll not let him see him again which is stupid, it was an accident!
Every time I close my eyes I see him falling and I cant reach him :(

Eta I have just emailed the play center to ask if their health and safety policy states that no first aid should be offered and staff should ignore clients when their children are injured?
I was a little sterner than that but that's the general idea, let's see I'd they care enough to reply.

:hugs: Tanya! You poor soul. Glad he is ok.

Ohhh starlit, iknow exactly the kind of person you mean! :dohh:

Oh Tanya! We had a concussion scare recently too :hugs:

Lettuce - she told us this as a "I must assert my authority" type of thing because moments before we'd both gotten after her for teasing our child with a chip basket.
I (slightly sharply - I was shocked!) told her to stop, and not to offer something to Molly if it's not something Molly can have.
DH followed that up with an explanation that Molly cannot eat tortilla chips as they are sharp and she only has two teeth.

Elderly aunt was miffed at this.

We've basically mutually decided to think of her as a child - we're firm but pleasant and we don't let her boss us around. When she gives advice, we smile and nod and calmly explain what we have decided to do (if applicable).

I was pretty taken aback by the teasing though. Who thinks it is a good idea to tease a baby??
DH said maybe we should have let her, then Molly would have cried and she'd have felt bad... But I actually think we handled it pretty well.

Poor Flynn :( Well done for emailing them!

Maria stole my tortilla chips once when we were out for dinner, she loved them! (I didn't notice at first, I was looking the other way and when I turned round she was munching on a handful :haha:)

My poor lil boy has a black eye from getting into a fight over a toy at nursery! the nursey didnt even bother to tell me i had to ask what happened

Oh tanya :hugs: Alex fell from DH's arms and DH swore he would never hold him again, but he's ok now. It happens. :hugs:

vixie, me too!!!!!!! *shudders*

Oh Tanya big big hugs. Infact big hugs all round.

Joshy... I don't actually know if you want you to be good or bad for your nanny. I want you to be good, cos your a good independent little man or be bad cos you miss me do much & I don't wanna see nannys smug face tomorrow when she tries to use you against me again.

All I do know is it our first night apart & I miss you so much my heart aches. I'll see you tomorrow baby boy

DH:

we have company this weekend and the house is a tip (as usual, but moreso because the cleaning fairy decided to actually get out of the house for a couple of days this week and not spend her days picking up after you) hence why we're up at midnight still tidying.

your version of tidying does not cut it (hence why I am in all day cleaning and alone). Hiding stuff in piles in the corner and then playing on your phone is not acceptable. Nor is putting your "paperwork" and letters in a pile to "sort later" and leaving it for MONTHS. There's a massive pile in the kitchen hidden behind the blender, tea and coffee pots and pushing them forward. There's another pile on the table, and another under the side table. Putting the newest ones in a pile on the edge of the sofa doesn't count as tidying either. Not does leaving stuff in the middle of the floor as you "were going to take it upstairs".

SORT IT OUT.

I hate boys tidying, so annoying. I swear they do it to piss us off.

They do it so we think they're rubbish at it and do it ourselves instead.
Mine can't tidy without completely rearranging the whole room, if I ask him to put something in the cellar I'll come back and find he's pulled it all out, it's bloody annoying lol

DH - get your fecking arse outta bed and fecking well get downstairs and help me with OUR daughter. Yes, that's right dear, she is YOURS as well as mine. Weekends are not for you to lie on your arse in bed all morning, while I feed, change, sort swimming gear, hoover, do dishes, put washing on, steralise bottles, make her lunch etc etc.

GET UP, GET UP GET UP. You have 10 minutes to get out of bed, or I WILL pour the ice cold glass of water I have in the fridge over you. And I will make damn sure it only hits your side of the bed. I am tired of doing this every day.

I hear ya babyboo! Is it wrong I hope he didn't get up just so you get to pour the water on him?! ;)

Work - seriously?????? You're going to guilt trip me into working?? The reason I'm thinking of not going in is I'm full of cold and I work with newborns!!

I bought a new Mamas and Papas Sola 2 in 1 today.

It was expensive. But I really like it. I've never bought anything fancy for Sophie before and I'm really excited about it!.

Good choice! I have one and love it!

To the couple with a young toddler refusing to eat - please stop letting it scream the place down by force feeding it for five minutes. Also stop saying 'but bubbu needs hernumunumunums', it's irritating! Talk normal!

Bad mood - go away and take my cold with you!!

Woman I'm waiting for, yes I know you're busy but I don't get paid hourly and I've been waiting ages for you and am very close to just packing up and leaving!
