gosh iv only got just over 3 months left, its gone so quick, when i 1st found out i was pregnant i was like oh iv got nine months yet but come to think ov it now im like omg, i cant wait to have my baby but i really dont cope that well with pain and quite scared about the labour and i really dont no what to expect, i think im more scared that you dont no when its going to happen

hey hun, the worst thing you can do is be scared of labour, fear breeds pain try to remember that it wont last forever and youll get the most amazing thing at the end of it :) try to enjoy the last bit of your pregnancy

take care

I agree with Molly, dont stress about it and enjoy the last weeks of your pregnancy!!

I agree aswell, you can read as many sites as you like regarding labour pain but it's different for everyone, so relax and look forward to meeting your little one xx

the thing is when a women is scared the first thing that happens is the cervix closes. its a reflex from back in the cave man/women days, women would go into labour where ever see a lion get scared and the cervix closes tightly with a rush of adrenaline so that the women can run. when the adrenaline wears off the cervix can relax and continue to open- or when the women is safe she can give birth.
so getting really scared is just going to work against you, try some relaxation tapes and breathing excersises.

good luck

Wow cool lol.

Not sure we have much of a chance out running a Lion at 40 weeks though

haha yer thats true!! or even a bus for that matter lol, just make sure if ur having a birthing partner then its someone thats not going to stress you out, but that will encourage you, remember nce the heads out the rest is so much easier for most people, good luck and enjoy xxx

lol yeah running anywhere at 40weeks is a big ask but the theory makes sence

oh sweetie! I have been in labour twice - the first time i was terrified and i was holding my breath (natural reaction to pain) which was making my body all tense, and it was truly an awful experience. I had to have an epidural.

The second time i was more prepared when i was having contractions i kept taking deep breaths and "breathing it out" I warned my husband to watch me and tell me when i was holding my breath. When the contractions got bad i just closed my eyes and tried to imagine what my baby was going to look like. Because of being more relaxed i had an amazing experience i didn't even have any pain relief.

So i suppose what i am trying to say is that if you keep calm and relaxed and have a supportive birthing partner with you your experience will be a lot less painful than if you tense up with fear. When you tense your body you are going against what nature is trying to do!
Im not going to lie - it is painful but its weird. Right now you are thinking oh shit how would i manage 10 hours in pain. But when you are in labour you use a different part of your brain. 10 hours will fly by in what seems like 1.
I hope i have helped you and not scared you even more! If you ever need to talk feel free to pm me! I would love to help!
