I've just finished my first batch of soaps. Ready to be decorated and put in to hampers. I'm making candles next week. Love this crafty lark...

Wow they look fab.
i wouldn't know how to make things like that xx

But it's so easy and only took me 15 mins to make then and hour to set. I promise anyone can do it!! Buy a soap base, melt it, add some colouring if you choose or add some funky stuff like lavender and then your chosen fragrance and boom! Soap at your disposal. :)

Instructions please :) would love to try this and yours look fab so if you could post the recipe I would be ultra grateful :flower: xx

Course I can. For the hearts, I used hobby craft soap base in white. I melted it down and added a fragrance. Poured it in to silicone heart cases. To get the tie dye effect I just squirted a load of red soap dye in without mixing. For the pink glitter ones I poured glitter in to the bottom of the heart cases then poured the melt on top.

For the lavender chunks, I used hobby craft natural soap base. Same as above but i used take away cases (haha) added crushed lavender to the melt and poured. I put them all in the fridge for an hour, took out and the lavender ones I cut in to blocks. Simples :)

Hobby craft soap base, hobby craft fragrances, hobby craft soap dye. It cost me £25 all together.

Any you like. I used lavender this time. But tea tree is a fab one if you use the essential oil instead. That way it smells yummy and you get the benefits of the tea tree. You could make green soap bars. Rose is a good one for the heart shaped ones but not many people like it. Christmas you could try oranges then add sections of dried out oranges!

If you use a fragrance you will literally be getting just that. If you use essential oils, you'll be getting the smell and the health benefits.

I'll update this thread when I make my candles. I'm so excited about those!

Love the soaps hun gonna try some of these .
Thnx for sharing.
Xx

Oooooooo they're fab! I saw them on fb :haha:

Think I might have a go at some. What type of glitter did you use? Just normal?

;)

I used normal glitter but only because I know the people I'm giving them too are fine with things like that. I guess you'd have to find out if there is special glitter to use for the body. Worth a google *wonders off to check it out*

*wonders back in* this link looks good! Special glitter for soaps... https://www.soapbasics.co.uk/en-gb/dept_28.html

Love these :) i've got my hands tied with sewing and crochet at the moment, i'm making xmas decs and bunting. If we were closer we could swap :)

I'd have loved too! I'm making someone candles in return for her homemade jewlery for my hampers too. I'd have loved some crochet in there too. I must learn! What are you making?

Wow I need a trip to hobbycraft! I got some new silicone moulds a few weeks back and would love to try this!
