Hey , not sure really where to put this so feel free to move it if its in the wrong place...
havnt been on this forum for a very long time , my lo is now 3 and about 5 months ago his dad and i split. i was on cilest contraceptive pill, have been for 10 years (except when ttc) and thought it worked well for me, since the split i stopped taking it , and actually lost a little weight so that was nice
my thoughts are turning towards dating and im now wondering about contraceptives (dont want to only be relying on condoms when the time comes) my first thought was to go back on the pill, but maybe a different one partly because of the apparenty weight gain on cilest, but also my sex drive for the last couple of years has been more than a little low, and im now wondering if the pill could have been a factor there. i feel more myself since coming off it in general.
tbh it is very possible that the pill wasnt the reason for lack of sexdrive ( 10 year relationship was going down hill for a long time i think really, we were basicly living seperate lives, pretty much the most effort he went to in that department was to say "you want some"
not really any spark left tbh...)
anyway has anyone had experience with cilest or another pill reducing sex drive / causing weight gain? i have been reading into the idea of an IUD recently, but dont know if this seems a bit extreme, not sure of risks also , as i have had an ectopic pregnancy in the past so not sure if id even be allowed one. i like the idea of no hormones messing me up, but not sure about having something permenantly inside... can you feel that its there ( i mean is it comfortable?) and can it be felt during sex etc..
