I have just found out I'm expecting a little bird! She will be sharing a room with my little boy when she's big enough (if my son is anything to go by, she'll be in there by 3 weeks haha).

When my boy was born, I bought some gorgeous cherry wood matching baby furniture (wardrobe, cot/bed, drawers and changing unit). My boys room is green and brown, so it matched perfectly. However, with them sharing, I'm going gender neutral. Black chalkboard on the bottom, white on the top 2 3rds of the room. With a Mickey Mouse head silhouette for E, and a Minnie for my lady.
The furniture will not match. White would be absolutely perfect.

Would you paint, or would you leave it be?

(I'd attach a photo, but I can't figure out how to on my phone)

Why isn't Green and Brown gender neutral? I'd maybe add some accent colors in something "girly" around the cot etc.
Xx

I think I've just got used to it being my sons room haha. I am an obsessive redecorator, and I have been debating changing my boys room into a Mickey Mouse theme for a while, so perfect excuse!

i wouldnt paint the furniture as it might chip off which might be dangerous but also might look a bit scruffy. why not sell it and buy white furniture? or design a room scheme that works with the wooden furniture.

my children boy/girl share a duck egg blue room with white furniture and rabbit stickers on the walls.

I regret not buying white in the first place. White matches everything. I'd have it painted by a local shop that does it though, and make damn sure it was baby safe.

I'm leaning towards not painting. And just not having matching. As much as it will drive me bonkers, I don't know anyone who has painted over furniture, so I have zero experience
