Well, confusion all round methinks!!!! To sum up the v long appointment; clomid worked in so far as ovulation, doc now concerned with DH SA. We are having a clomid break whilst DH stops smoking and in the meantime, a referral is going through for IVF/ICSI.

now, the IVF clinic is a private one but our authority pay for one treatment of it. The purpose of the doc referring it was to get me on the waiting list - he wants me to try clomid again in three months. SO, i was given all the clinic info, doc's made out the referral, so i thought fab stuff, that'll help get the ball rolling, two years is a long wait and in the meantime we'll have another go at clomid in a few months (joy).

I get home, rang clinic cos i had a few questions and found out that the waiting time = 0 months, 0 years..................

shock.

very shocked.

So, could be going for this sooner than i thought!

Eek.

Wow that's amazing! So if I got it right... you could go for an IVF/ICSI cycle more or less straight away and if (god forbid) that doesn't work you could go back on clomid?

How do you feel? I bet your head is buzzing! :hugs:

I can imagine how shocked you must be feeling. Hope it is a good shock though!! Good luck with everything. x

Was the same here, really, no wait whatsoever. Still takes awhile for all the forms to be filled out so you are probably looking at a few months or so altogether from the start to the end but its better than years.

thanks for replies ladies! Redfraggle, now i've slept on it, a good shock!!!! And head sure is buzzing Helen!

From how you've summed it up Helen, that's how i read the situation too - i reckon the doc (who was from out of town) didn't know that there was no waiting list - i reckon in his head i would be waiting at least 2 years, therefore enough time to try clomid again whilst on list. If IVF doens't work, i can't see us going back on clomid, seems like a step in the opposite direction from what i've read.

I think we're looking at a couple of months Curly, like you say, form filling, referrals, etc, but we're gonna head over for a visit as soon as we get the green light.

will update regularly! TTFN x x x x
