Trimester Question

When does the first trimester end? I have looked on several websites, some say at week 12, some say at week 13, others week 14 and some even week 15. I just am not sure. I am at week 12 now, so just not sure where I am at on the trimester spectrum. Anyone know???

You have to finish the 13th week to finish the first trimester. If you get to 13 weeks, you really only finished the 12th week and are going into the 13th week. Second trimester is weeks 14 to 26 and third tri is weeks 27 to 40.

I think different countries have different definition on when 2nd tri starts, but it doesn't quite matter I think . I'll continue to be cautious in my diet, activities etc, irregardless! =)

My nausea is still on going at week 12, but I feel less paranoid about m/c when I reach this week. So its a good thing!

I always thought the first tri was upto 12wks, after that its second tri. Thats how i look at it anyway xx

hi hun, basically if you take pregnancy as 39 weeks (40 really but just for the math) then divide by 3, that is 13. so every 13 weeks you end a trimester. end of 13 weeks, then end of 26 weeks then end of 39 weeks and you should have a baby i think people think 12 weeks is 2nd trimester because its the "safety zone" xxx
