I had a mc last week, it started on Monday and everything passed on Tuesday morning. I had really heavy bleeding, lots and cramps for another day and since then just light bleeding//spotting.

DH is set on doing things by the book, waiting 2 weeks etc. my Dr also said we would start testing after my first af. I'm so impatient and anxious, I just want to get this started again. DH thinks it's a bit reckless to potentially get pregnant without knowing if there is a reason for both loses that happened at 7 weeks. While I agree, I'm torn. Am I completely selfish?

Has anyone waited to find out testing? Or not waited and wished they had?

:hi: Hun

I was told to wait 3-6 months as you know I'm not.

I am getting testings done but specifically told to wait for testings just waiting emotionally wise.

Have you spoken more to hubby about it

Xxx

I'm so torn about this as well. I know I should wait, what's another month, right? Realistically I don't think I will. I've been giving it a lot of thought, thinking of the reasons for the losses, and what they can do about it. So far this is what I've come up with...The most common causes and treatments are:

1) Hormones, namely progesterone deficiency. Treatment is giving progesterone during early pregnancy.
2) Autoimmune- giving steroids
3)Genetic defects- nothing
4) Structural abnormality of the uterus- it depends, but sometimes surgery can fix it.
5) Clotting disorder- aspirin/heparin

Out of all those causes and treatments the only thing that needs intervention BEFORE you are pregnant is a uterine abnormality. The other treatable ones can be started as soon as you find out you are pregnant. So unless I am really unlucky and have something wrong with my uterus, I am planning on running to the specialist as soon as I have my bfp. I am seeing her on Thursday this week, so I'm hoping some of the testing can be done before the end of the month, and I'm hoping she'll tell me it's ok to keep ttc. At least I won't feel like I'm doing something I shouldn't be.

Thanks Steph. I agree that those can be treated in esrly pregnancy. DH has convinced me that it's best to wait, mostly because we've had two mcs with no successful ones so far. I think if I had a baby already I'd be more inclined to TTC straight away. I basically shared the same logic you did with him yesterday, but he was pretty set on how important it is to find out what is causing it, and before I get pregnant again. He believes we don't know when things go wrong, even though the baby makes it to 6.5 weeks doesn't mean everything is working as it should. Maybe on day 10 things go horribly wrong. So while I agree with you and am hoping it also could just be bad luck, I'm going to now have the testing done first. Much to my dislike lol
