Hi, this is my first post so it might be a long one. I went to my docs about 6 months ago as I have alot of the symptoms of PCOS. She did a blood test and said I'm fine, but still no baby. We have one but desperately want a brother or sister for him. The only symptom of PCOS I don't have is erratic periods. But they used to be so regular (to the hour), now they are days and at worst a week out. I don't know what else it could be. The doctor didn't refer me for any tests or anything else. so I am not sure what I should do next. it took us 2 1/2 years to conceive our boy naturally. I am 37 and don't want to be trying for that long before no.2 comes along. What should I do next? Is there a thread that tells me all the things I should be doing? I've heard green tea is good!

Thank you for all your potential replies - I know we are all in the same boat! x

Hi Loopy Lou, if i were you i would go back to the doctors. Do you know if you are ovulating each month? If you are ovulating then it might be worth your DH having a Sperm Analyss? To be honest though these are at least the tests your doctor should be offering you if you have been ttc for more than 6 months.

Good luck x

PS it might be worth you re-posting in the LTTC section as i know this section isn't that busy.

Thanks Chanel.

I will re-post this. I think I posted it here in error anyway!

I am ovulating every month - but dh says it can't possibly be him as he has 2 kids already - men eh? ha ha.

I will book an appointment at my docs, but they do seem to be experts in fobbing me off!

I would get a second opinion. Two years is a long time, and considering your age (hey, I am in the same boat) you don't want to be wasting precious time!

I agree with the other ladies, try to get referred for specialist tests.

Hi Loopy Lou, i was in a similar boat. I am 36 and had my first child just over 3 years ago. I did get pregnant easily with him. But getting pregnant the second time ( i also deperately wanted to have a second so he would have a sibling), took a long time (i finally fell pregnant after 18 months!). I saw my dr who was sending me for tests (i did the 5 ad 21 days blood tests and suggested i had not ovulated). My dr kind of scared me saying that i did not have very long because of my age. Anyway, i bought a clearblue fertility monitor to just go for it before the fertility tests began. I fell pregnant the first month of using it! The months before i was using a normal clearblue digital ovulation tests. The monitor is expensive but it worked for me. (Bought it half the usual rrp £100 on ebay). Are you using ovulation tests?

hi sandra is that fertility moniter any good? what about the normal ones u used r they any good ? iv bn ttc for 3yrs now had a misscarrage at 16 im 22 nw been with my partner for 4yrs babys was always on the cards had depo jag from 17-18yrs think its something to do with the depo why i aint getting pregnant. :(
