I have been off work for just over 3 months now and my little one is 2 months old. I'm going crazy at home. I love being with Beth but i just need adult company and i want to go back to work.

I am thinking of telling my husband that i want to go back in September / October on a part time basis. That would make the baby 4/5 months old. Is this ok or am i just being selfish? She would need to go into creche 3 days a week.

I'm worried i might go back and then regret it. x

I think you have to go with your gut feelings. If your baby is settled and you want adult company, why not, You can be a great Mummy who works Pt and gives her undivided attention for the rest of the time.
My sister in law went back to work after 4 months and a friend after 3, both needed to go back financially. Both have very happy babies and happy mums.

If you are happy, your baby will be happy.

I plan to go back after about 5 months, part time, 3 days like you. In this time of financial strain, a lot of new mums will be thinking of heading back to work.

good luck with your decision, don't let any mummy guilt take over

i'm going back to work and bethany will be 8/9months old. i initially wanted to spend a year with her but i need adult company and as said above, happy mummy happy baby. and also the fact my oh is working all the hours he can and i feel bad so want to spilt the responsibility. if it's what you want to do, do it you need to make yourself happy as well. good luck hun

I don't think you're selfish hun - I plan on going back to work after 6 months. Mainly for financial reasons and also because I love my job! I'm already craving work and have been officially on maternity leave for 3 days lol :)
I think as long as you are happy and can find childcare, then I think whatever works best for you and your family.
If you go back and regret it, then you can always look into it again but you should go with your gut feeling x

I don't think that's selfish at all! But, if you are worried about missing your daughter then why not look into working from home?

I dont think thats selfish at all hun, im also thinkin about it but i dunno as starting college in september 2! its tough but so many people do it im sure u will be ok x

I was the same hun. Have you looked into mum & baby groups and things alike while you are waiting to go back to work? I wish I had've looked into that when I was off work, I was so bored!
