Hi everyone

After spending 5 months on this site I have decided that this is the section I should probably be in if it's ok with others.

Bit of background....... I have a daughter who is 2. Me and my oh were trying for 6 months and gave up as I wasnt having periods.....on the 8th month I miraculously got pregnant. I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 14 and have always taken the pill to regulate me and control my hormones.

After having my daughter I was told that my pcos will have gone???? No evidence of this so far. My current situation is that I have been off th pill for 5 months, had 1 v.short period in that time and I am about 2 stone overweight.

SO.... I feel I still have pcos and it's going to take me a long time to get pregnant, which is fine, I count my blessings and other people have many more obstacles to overcome so I consider myself lucky.

I hope I can join this section based on my previous problems and wish all of you all the luck in the world in successing with your bfp's xxxxx

Hey My bump.

Have you been back at the doctors for you PCOS?

X

Hello and welcome,
It would be worth going to the docs re PCOS, because they will probably want to scan you again to confirm it and then give you metformin (this may also help with weight loss, and improving periods).

I hope you get you :bfp: very soon xxx

Hi no I havent been back, I didnt think there was anything they could do if I had it as they didnt do anything last time????

What is metformin for??? I thought it was for weight control? Im only a size 14-16 ut used to be a 10 before my previous pregnancy and can not shift the weight.

I still havent ovulated and I am on cd 67!! Is this normal for people in the ltttc section who have similar problems to me?

x

Metformin is given to women with PCOS to help make mature follicles that produce eggs and to help regulate your hormones something to do with the way PCOS affects how and what our bodies do with insulin. It would be worth looking into. I ovulate on my own but instead of having big healthy follicles I only ever had a bunch of small ones so the met is helping the follicles get bigger to produce a healthy big follicle. Some people lose weight while on it other dont.

Well I finally have a positive opk on cd 71 so am going to see what the next 2 weeks brings and hold off form going to the doctors!

Thanks for your kind words

xxx
