Waters broken for you

On monday if bub hasn't made an attempt to turn up.. My consultant said ill have my waters broken..
Will this make labour start for sure or could it fail..
How long will I have to go in to labour and deliever before they consider other options?? What will the other options be??
I'm hoping I may not need this info and I'll go into labour alone over the weekend.. but incase.. anyadvice/help would be great.

I've been induced twice before but with the gel.. I've never known my waters to break.. I presume they go when I'm on the toilet or when I'm in more pain so don't notice.. lol

i heard that they're trying to stop this as a means of induction, but seeing as you've been through labour before maybe it's a good idea. i don't know hun. xxx

Why are they trying to stop it? Do you know?
The doctor said I'm 1-2cm dialated already and this is why he wud do the "ARM"
I've heard contractions are more painful if your waters break.. Hopefully I'll go alone I still have time.

i have no idea. i heard a midwife utter it in the maternity ward, xxx
