Weird Questions...

Hi everyone! I am new to this, so bear with me I had a mc at 17 weeks last September, and my husband and I recently started trying again. The first of the TMI details is that he decided to tell me last week on Wednesday via text that he had filed for divorce. There is a chance that I am pregnant, so obviously I'm kind of freaking out. With my first pregnancy, my HCG levels were really low (no positive urine test till about 9 weeks), and barely there at 5 weeks when I found out. This time around, I was having slight positives on urine tests, and I was two days late. My doctor sent me for a blood HCG level last Wednesday, and it came back at 5. Since this is kind of borderline, and my levels tend to be low, she sent me for another one on Saturday. That one came back at 2. I had an abnormal period on Friday, that lasted a day and a half. I'm having a lot of breast pain/tenderness, swelling, and little white dots all around my nipples. This stuff seems to be getting worse not better. I also have some slight twinges in my abdomen, and also a little bloating. Because of these symptoms, they scheduled me to go in for another HCG draw on Friday. I am super impatient, and just trying to figure our what's going on. Has anyone had a very early mc where there levels were slightly elevated, but then continued with progressive pregnancy symptoms? What do you guys think? Any input is much appreciated!

Firstly very sorry to hear about yout husband filing for divorce via text !!! What a shocking way to tell you.

Given HCG initially of 5 that is very low to start with ( low levels of HCG occur in non pregnant women , as you would know) but then it dropped to 2 so even lower.

I'm guessing if you are having pregnancy symptoms they could also be due to progesterone levels.

It would be interesting to see what your next bHCG is.

Hoping all goes smoothly between you and your husband whether that ends with reconciliation or settlement.

Sorry to hear about the stress you're going through right now. What's going on with him that he is TTC and then files for divorce? I don't get it.

The hCG levels are pretty low. I just recently had what I thought was a period followed by a positive pregnancy test. It ended in miscarriage, but I was still having a couple of weird symptoms towards the end. The numbers would have been between 18 and 0. But it seems like you have a history of strange numbers, so I really don't know what to think. Most doctors would consider numbers less than 5 a negative, and the fact that it went down to 2 makes me think it's moving toward 0.

Regardless of the results, it sounds like this is a hard time for you and wish that I knew what words to say to make it easier.

Thank you to both of you for responding. I know the levels are really low, so I am thinking it's a no, but my body is so weird ya never know. I was hospitalized for 4 weeks with the last pregnancy before I lost it, and no one ever figured out what was wrong. I am going to ask them to check hormone levels as well if the hcg comes back low again, just to see what the deal is. I'll keep you posted!
