Welcome to Trying To Conceive #1

So my first round of 100mg Clomid 5-9 didn't work. My progesterone was at 1.1 before Clomid and just got the call that it only went up to 1.2. The doctor is going to call me about another round at some point... Any idea on what will come next?

I'm so sorry your first round of clomid didn't work for you...maybe your next will. They normally continue clomid for 6 cycles and up it each time until they declare a "clomid failure" and go on to the next step which might be IUI. Good luck!!!

Thanks...! I am so bummed out and discouraged that my first round didn't work. I start on Clomid 150mg but not sure what days this time after AF comes... I am actually excited for AF to come so that I can get this Clomid cycle going!!

i bet you are excited for your next round to start. Each new round is new hope! I hope it happens for you soon sweetie!

I don't even know how to fix it then... I'm using the BB code.... Do u know exact way to do it? What do I click??

I'm trying to figure out what you did...i think that's the right code, the BB code. So you log in to your home FF page and go to the top where it says "Sharing" and then choose "Get Code" and then use bbCode Code...which is what you say you did so not sure why it's not working. Hhhmmm...

We've been trying since July so going on 9 months...going to specialist on the 21st for first appointment...usually they make you wait a year unless you are over 35 or have clear issues with your cycle...I have cycles from 20 days to over 90, spending up 75% of the month bleeding, or months with nothings, and go months without a positive OPK so I was able to self refer myself before the 1 year mark, but that's in Ontario Canada, rules are different everywhere :)

That's exactly what I've been told :). I'm also in Ontario.... Where abouts? I'm in Oakville, you?

We were told also that since we conceived once unless I have issues (such as yours) its a year. We are both under 35 so yep. I'm surprised you had to wait this long given your cycles? Have you been charting to help track potential problems? Just curious. Pre-pregnancy I had a short luteal phase and low body temp suggesting progesterone deficiency but still got pg and now post MC its improved. Higher temps both pre and post O and my luteal phase went from 10 to 12 days! Curious. Although my O moved from day 18 to day 20 so longer cycles by 4 days. Lol. I wish you luck and hope that they find something quickly to resolve your troubles :)

I am in London and there is "Fertility Ontario" in town so it's a great resource :)

As for the wait, I never tried any earlier as we didn't want to jump the gun too early and give the impression that we didn't give "nature a shot". I do not have a family doctor so I tried to get some insight from my regular walk in clinic but eventually decided to look into getting some help after 4 20day cycles in a row and December consisting of only 3 non-period/non-spotting days...

I did start charting in November but do not temp as I am a very light sleeper and cannot get consistent wakeup times. So I basically track BDing, CM, symptoms, HPTs, and starting in January, OPKs.

Before we started "trying" we did over a year of "pull and pray" and I was on Depo from ~2001-2009.

I believe I am on CD 65 and 15dpo...sorry to hear about your MC though it is always good to know that you can concieve :) Have they done anything to help with your progestrone levels?

My sister has been ttc for over 2 years and is super "healthy" but has had no luck and was told she has a clotting gene that can cause issues with pregnancy and it is genetic so I will have to be tested for and as well I need to get info about PCOS bc unlike my sister I'm not as "healthy"

Pdubs,

No testing for progesterone. Because I got pg the first time in about 3 cycles. And the MC was past the point of a serious deficiency. I was also on the pill for 11 years which I've read can affect hormone production.

As for the clotting gene. My SIL has that and has two beautiful healthy children. Her first was always small but then stopped growing and was deliver at 30 weeks at 1lb 14 oz. she is three years old and amazing! Then they tested the placenta and figured out the issue. Then with her second she took aspirin and Heprin shoots throughout pregnancy and my nephew was full term and 5lb 7oz and healthy. He's now over a year old! It is not a huge issue if you know about it :).

Hopefully you don't have this. Also, many women with this clotting need aspirin daily just to conceive. She took it until u/s confirmed pregnancy then added the Heprin. Good luck!

Glad to hear about your SILs success...I know my sister is on baby aspirin now but I think that is recent since like November...they also tried acupuncture for a year and IVF this December...as much as I can't wait to get preggers and even excited that we may have the first grandbaby on both sides there is a small part of me that really hopes my sister gets preggers first...

Well off to bed for me...babydust to all :)

Bad news at scan today :nope:...both heartbeats were gone. I'm utterly devastated. My heart is broken.

Hi. I'm also TTC. I'm actually in my TWW period. This is my third cycle so I used the CBE opk to make sure i was ovulating. We BD on sat, got my smiley face on sun, and BD again on Monday morning! Hopefully this time was a success but it wouldn't bum me out if it wasn't. Just knowing i ov'ed allows me to be that much more patient!

Hey! I'm in my tww. Also 9 dpo today. My breasts are very tender/sore started yesterday and has gotten worse throughout the day today. I'm hoping this is our month. Finally started using opk's clear blue smiley ones and I'm feeling more positive this month. We've been ttc since Sept 2012. Good luck everyone!

I'm so sorry for you. :hugs:

It's such a devastating thing to happen

Take care of yourself and I hope that your recovery isn't too difficult :nope:

When will u be testing?

What are follicles? How do i know when i can get pregnant? is there something wrong?
So here's the story, I have been off of birth control completely since August 2012. I had a normal period until about November it was a steady 4 days and 31 days between. I was able to track them no problem but since December they have been all out of wack! my period was 4 days late in December so we decided to take a trip to the doctors, not pregnant! THEN i did not get a period at all in January and instead got it February 6, again normal 4 days. However i was having a huge amount of discomfort in my lower abdomen where my ovaries are. So i made an appointment to get an ultra sound and i did. She said i had a lot of good looking follicles and that everything looked great. She said this summer we can do further testing to see why i have not yet gotten pregnant. But at this point we're okay with not getting pregnant yet i just want to know what my body is doing? Again my period is late this month..

Any thoughts? Any similar things happen to anyone?

Thanks for taking the time to read this lengthy case.
xoxobaby dust!
