Welcome to Trying To Conceive #1

Hello all!! I've learned a lot from you already. Hubby and I tried for 10 months on our own and decided to step it up since he is older (42). He has two healthy children from a first marriage (ages 14 and 12) and I've never tried to conceive before. Nothing was happening, so went to RE/I specialist and had all the labs drawn: all my labs normal, hubby's SA normal. HSG was all clear. Diagnosed with anovulation and put on Clomid 100mg cd 3-7. Had a check on cd 12, with several small follies (10-11mm) and returned on cd17 for recheck. Recheck showed one lead follicle at 16.9! So RE said to wait two more days then give trigger. Endo lining was 10.9!! Came home and told the hubby and he got nervous cuz it's gonna happen soon (hopefully).

It's been an interesting learning experience. I never appreciated how complex this process was, and I'm an RN. Looking forward to starting our family :happydance:

Welcome Sadie and good luck to you! Sounds like things will happen for you this time! I can't wait to hear about it! :)

I hate the two week wait! I'm so impatient lol! AF due on 3rd so only another week but just don't feel like we've done it this month! DTD in the 3 days running up to O but been ill since then so nothing more. Eager for next cycle so can start trying again!
Good luck everyone x

Good luck to you lola!!!

so excited for you!!! * non-alcoholic cheers* to your soon :bfp:

Im gonna take some time to read your journal! Help me get on the same page... as for doctors.. some get the cream of the crop and the others gets the rotten soil... and i know its gotta be tough when even the doctors arent for sure, when you hope they can answers questions and fears you have..
For me, I think Ive been through what everyone here has. Been charting ( so really ttc) for 8 months now and nothing... whether I have something wrong or its gonna take a few more months, we will see. I know my OH has somethings that could definitely be a problem, but in a few days if my period doesnt come, that will good. If it does and at 10 months (so 2 more tries) I dont get anywhere Ill be starting clomid... I had a time a few months ago where I thought I had an early mc because some things were really off and wrong.. but never went to the doctor. So just waiting like everyone else... im a lot calmer now because I stopped trying so much. Def had moments of depression though

bluz  I think the more relaxed approach is better in the end and wishing you lots of luck I hope you get your :bfp: very soon xxx

So glad I found this forum, I was looking at the TTC list of forums and it seemed so long and I had no idea where to start.

My husband and I are in our mid 20's and trying for our first. Most of the women I have talked to about becoming pregnant are more the 10+ years older than me and talk about Ovulation tests and finding your most fertile time.

For any younger first time TTCs is this something you have done as well? My husband and I really had no plan other putting the condoms away. Is this a little naive of me?

Welcome Mrshousewife! I'm in that 10+ year older category but I don't use opk's. from what I've read if you're both healthy you can just bd every other day. Give it 6 months to a year. If nothing happens check in with your doctor. If you have irregular cycles or any health concerns then check in with your doctor now :)

Good luck!

Ugh, i'm so so sorry sweetie. No words...just that it's not fair and i hope with all my heart you get your BFP soon!!! :dust:

Hi me and DH are in our late 20s and trying to conceive baby #1!
I had the same attitude as you I just planned to have implant out and see what happened but im only on cycle 2 and already using opks and checking fertile times etc! This is only really because I didn't realise there was such a small fertility window each month and I don't want to miss it! Plus I'm really impatient haha!!!
Hope it goes well for you and you get your positive soon!
Good luck :)

Mrs Housewife - me and DH are late 20s and almost at 9 months at trying...I started charting in november but mostly so I could show eratic period patterns to a specialist if need be ( I don't temp). In January I started OPKs so that I could hopefully speed up the process, because like Lola, I am impatient and my cycle is not normal so it's hard to figure out when I'm ovulating (Also DH is on late shift so BDing is sometimes hard to do if not scheduled, which sucks haha). That being said..if my cycles were normal I probably would go by CM and just BD every other day.

Every body is different but I suggest the relaxed approach for at least 6 months :)

Thanks everyone for you posts.
My cycle is regular and other then being a few kilos heavier then I would like we are both very healthy.
I talked to my husband tonight about tracking ovulation cycles and what not but for us at this stage we are just going to relax and see what happens.
:)
PS. How do I get the awesome timelines on the bottom of my posts?

Relaxed is always good for as long as you can handle it...I think (most of us) get really excited and anxious about it and it gets hard to not stress about it...if you have that quality I salute you :)

As for the tickers, if you click on one you like it should take you to the page of origin where you can make your own and then under the codes for sharing use the forum code BB :) just copy and paste that on this site when you click on Edit Signature

There is a similar setup if you start charting I, and many others, would recommend Fertility Friend and you can link your chart as well :)
