Welcome to Trying To Conceive #1

Me and my partner have been trying since november now. i came off my pill for the first time in 5 years so has taken a while to get my body together. not been havin regular periods, so not been gettin much chance to try and conceive! But im on cd2 today after a lond wait. so waiting for ov day next week! Bought some opk's to give us an idea! Anyone else found it difficult after coming of the pill?

I was never on the pill so I can't comment on that...I was on Depo though, what a nightmare! My periods are still irregular but that's just my body unfortunately...GL to you and OH :)

I came off bfp jan 2012 (we got married 3 months earlier). Took until may for AF to show up. But regular cycles since. Late ovulation though. Conceived 4th cycle. MMC at 13w. Now in our 4th cycle post mc so fingers crossed that 4 is our number!

Good luck!!

How's it going? Is it Spring yet? hahaha

Lol. Well it's about 8-10 Celsius each day here. But still a bit of snow lingering? How about you?

Easter tends to be a bit later than this year so it's weird to still be so cold.

How you getting on? Any progress???
I'm cd 15. O on 20 usually so start the bd race!! Lol

Getting my head round all this and all the terms is mind boggling! Lol
So am i right in saying ovulation is normaly 10 days from cd1?

It can be a bit overwhelming but if you have questions, just ask...we are pretty easy to get along with :) If you got back a page or two there is a link to the lingo and abbreviations to help you out :)

As for ovulation..unfortunately as in life there is no such thing really as normally...the earliest I've regularly heard oh someone O'ing is CD 12...they used to say, and some still do depending where you read, that "normal" is 14...lots here do closer to 18-20...and some don't have a pattern...like me..I'm on 75?? today haha..

FX you have a nice regular cycle and you get a BFP very soon :)

Sunny...no progress really...See the specialist again on Monday, might even get to meet him this time haha...I was hoping I would have AF by now so they could do my CD3 bloodwork...but nothing yet...so if not by Monday hopefully he gets me going on some Metformin and we can get this show on the road haha

As for weather...boo...I think it's like 6 today...our snow is pretty much gone but it's just so blah out...really can't wait for spring/summer with windows down and music up...shades on...ahhh summer...I miss you!

Thanx that was a help! I supose im still getting use to the way my body works after stoping the pill.

There is usually someone around to help, depending on your time zone and when you like to be online :) Me and Sunny are in Ontario, Canada and it's the middle of the afternoon..I never really go on in the evening...just when at work b/c it's slow this time of year for me :)

Where are you located Annie?

Yeah that makes sense, i must have my settings set up wrong b/c its the wrong time for me lol
im in the uk :) so its currently 8pm for me :)

I was on the pill... orthotricyclen... for one year and a little bit.. but when I got off my periods were clock work... always same time every month... it was a little while after that it started to fluctuate for me.. mostly cuz of stress i think... but i wasnt trying to conceive then... its one year off and almost one year trying.. not sure if its taking awhile because of that but i ovulate and all that... pssh guess that wasnt much help!

10DPO tomorrow tempted to test just so can confirm I'm out this month!
DH is in the navy and going away for up to a year next summer so the race is on to have baby #1 ASAP so he has as much time with them as possible before he goes :(

Just remember sometimes its too early.... we get so excited, but if you can wait a little the hcg levels double every 72 hours... I know your both very excited and some ppl just seem to get a baby by kissing, but hang in there! Dont get down in the first couple of months! cant wait for you both to get your :bfp:

I know and 2 cycles is nothing! It's just we've had a year of waiting to try and it seemed to last forever so now so impatient lol

Mrs Housewife - me and DH are late 20s and almost at 9 months at trying...I started charting in november but mostly so I could show eratic period patterns to a specialist if need be ( I don't temp). In January I started OPKs so that I could hopefully speed up the process, because like Lola, I am impatient and my cycle is not normal so it's hard to figure out when I'm ovulating (Also DH is on late shift so BDing is sometimes hard to do if not scheduled, which sucks haha). That being said..if my cycles were normal I probably would go by CM and just BD every other day.

Every body is different but I suggest the relaxed approach for at least 6 months :)

Hi me and DH are in our late 20s and trying to conceive baby #1!
I had the same attitude as you I just planned to have implant out and see what happened but im only on cycle 2 and already using opks and checking fertile times etc! This is only really because I didn't realise there was such a small fertility window each month and I don't want to miss it! Plus I'm really impatient haha!!!
Hope it goes well for you and you get your positive soon!
Good luck :)

So glad I found this forum, I was looking at the TTC list of forums and it seemed so long and I had no idea where to start.

My husband and I are in our mid 20's and trying for our first. Most of the women I have talked to about becoming pregnant are more the 10+ years older than me and talk about Ovulation tests and finding your most fertile time.

For any younger first time TTCs is this something you have done as well? My husband and I really had no plan other putting the condoms away. Is this a little naive of me?

Thanks everyone for you posts.
My cycle is regular and other then being a few kilos heavier then I would like we are both very healthy.
I talked to my husband tonight about tracking ovulation cycles and what not but for us at this stage we are just going to relax and see what happens.
:)
PS. How do I get the awesome timelines on the bottom of my posts?

Relaxed is always good for as long as you can handle it...I think (most of us) get really excited and anxious about it and it gets hard to not stress about it...if you have that quality I salute you :)

As for the tickers, if you click on one you like it should take you to the page of origin where you can make your own and then under the codes for sharing use the forum code BB :) just copy and paste that on this site when you click on Edit Signature

There is a similar setup if you start charting I, and many others, would recommend Fertility Friend and you can link your chart as well :)

Happy Humping and Baby Dancing

Welcome and good luck to you anniemay! I hope it happens for you super quick sweetie. Good luck! No, your body just needs a few months or 6 to get back in order i think and you'll be good to go from going off the pill. hopefully not that long though! I went off the pill in May of 2011 and we were pregnant by September! We did lose that one but it obviously didn't take us too long to conceive. Good luck!

Getting my head round all this and all the terms is mind boggling! Lol
