Hello everyone new here. A friend of mine told me you were all so supportive while she was TTC and so here I am. This will be Baby #1 for me and my hubby. I'm tired of reading the same tips and tricks everyday but I keep combing the internet for new stuff.

Hey Ladies

I'm trying for my first but been in the TTC forums since Nov (started TTC Sept, was a bit slow finding this site!)

Anyhow, you'll be surprised how quickly you'll figure out the acronyms, a lot of my guesses were right.

The ones I found the hardest are as follows

BD = Baby dancing (I though it was bedding, even though it doesn't really fit!)
DTD = Doing the deed (only figured that one out recently!)
EWCM = Egg white cervicle mucus

This is my first TTC month ever and really exited even though i know its a long hard process of actuaklly getting preggo, I have a 3 year old but wasnt trying with him, so now we want number too, any tips on figuring out my ovulation day and days to DTD, i want to do as much as we can to get pregnant sooner rather than yrs away
FRER = First response early result (figured the first response bit out but the early result bit threw me!)
FMU = First morning urine (obvious when you know but I thought it was a brand of pregnancy test!)
IC = Internet cheapy pregnancy tests.

Hope the above helps. Sending lots of :babydust:

Hi there and welcome! You sure came to the right place for encouragement! :dust: :dust: :dust:

I am new to this and very excited to have a place to go to learn more about ttc...
My husband and I are trying to have a little bundle of joy. I have a great friend who offered to carry a baby for us. We had no luck with our first attempt. We have tried again two weeks ago.. We are worried it didn't take. We are planning our next attempt.. If anyone could offer any tips we would appreciate them.

1st attempt we inseminated three days in a row via syringe & pre seed. No success.

2nd attempt we used the soft cups, pre-seed & mucinex. We inseminated on a Friday10/25 waited and then did it again mon10/28 the 10/29 wed 10/30 After all this we found out her cycle switched to 35 day cycle and placed her fertile window was 11/2 - 11/06. On 11/05 she had light pink discharge twice on 11/05 and nothing since. She hasn't had symptoms like she normally would if she was having PMS, but she's taken a test 11/09 and was neg tested again 11/12 neg 11/16 neg and 11/17 neg.

So if anyone could offer suggestions we would appreciate them! Thanks for reading! And praying for everyone that they get their dream of having a baby!

I am also very new to the site... i have been reading a lot up on here but im still kind of lost :).
My husband and I are trying to conceive. I went to have my progesterone levels drawn for the first time ever on day 20 because I had to work on the 21st day. My cycle days are normally every 25 to 26 days. i have tried temping which i kind of dont understand because my temperature is always wierd haha. But anyway, im going to tell you all how my cycle is and maybe someone can help me out. My period lasts 5 days, not sure when I ovulate. 1st day of my period was October 31st and it stopped on November 4th, therefore i should start on November 24th. i went on November 19th and had my progesterone level done and it was 6.4. I have read that this is low but then i read that it is good. I have no idea what it means. My doctor said that it means that i did ovulate and to call her if I did not start my period. but now i only have 3 days to start so since this is the case, is there a chance that i could still be pregnant? Does the progesterone still drop after ovulation even if the egg is fertilized and not implanted yet? Does the progesterone stay up this close to when menstration should start? I know before ovulation that it should be below 2. HELP?!

hi! :)
best advice would be to not get hopes up too high if you cant handle the depression of a bfn...the good news will surely arrive but dont stress out if it isnt happening exactly when you would want it to. i am now at one year ttc#1, healthy 24 yr old and still not a single bfp. i can tell you its been very difficult those months when i thought for sure the bfp was coming and didnt. but the months where i kept occupied with other things, af showing wasnt nearly as heart wrenching.

GL to you and B DUST! :)
fx for you...

Ok, let me see if i can think this through with you...

First of all, temping works if you do it every single morning first thing, same time every day, before getting out of bed, talking or anything after at least 3 hours of solid sleep. Just wake up, temp and chart it. After a few months of this, they will start to make sense AND it will show you when you ovulate!
So not sure about that number being good for confirming ovulation. i'm pretty sure my doc told me it had to be 10 or higher? Hhhmmm...well your doc told you it did mean you O'd so i would listen to them but now i'm confused.
Yes, there's a chance for sure you could still be pregnant since you haven't started yet and you're not due AF til Sunday so you should test that day!
No, the progesterone will not drop after Ovulation, that's when it becomes high and stays there. And if you conceive, it continues to stay high well past conception. It will drop right before AF is expected and then you would get a drop in temp on your chart and estrogen then takes over again.

GOOD LUCK!!! :dust:

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum.

My husband and I have been TTC for about 6 months now. I tried temping, taking ovulation tests, etc. but this month I had to stop all that because I'm tiered of trying....

I have my first appointment with a fertility specialist next Friday and I also have a referral for a pelvic ultrasound from my doctor. For those who already had a pelvic ultrasound done, is there a better part of the cycle of getting it done? I'm thinking of doing it before I go to the fertility specialist so I come with more information, but not sure if there is a preferred time of getting it done.

Thank you everybody!:headspin::headspin::headspin:

Hello gals!

I am new to the TTC forum. Thought I would finally join one as I have been TTC for quite some time (1 year, 1 month...though I know this is not long compared to some ladies). After being upset each month..I decided venting on a forum might be helpful to relieve some stress...

More info on me..I'm 25. No known fertility issues, but then again I haven't been tested for any yet. My DH is 29. I live abroad in SE Asia, so that has made it a bit more lonely to be TTC and not successful since I am away from home. I have not used any OPK's or done any charting...maybe I should start doing that. But at the same time, I don't want that to stress me out more. We're not taking it too seriously...but you'd think after a year something would happen! Makes me worried something is wrong with me or my DH! :/

Looking forward to getting to know everyone! Good luck ladies!

Don't suppose anyone else has tried arginine and wild yam tablets have they?? I bought some recently from Holland and Barrett and have looked at their uses apparently they are good as a natural progesterone to help produce eggs. Just wondering really if anyone has used them and if they had any joy????
