Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Kelly- I agree with Alin—I wanted a reassurance scan too and my doctor actually recommended it to help keep my stress levels down. If you feel like it just tell your doc you want a 7 week scan…they are very common and you generally can get a heartbeat count at this point and some nice measurements  I understand totally how you feel as I mc’d at 12 weeks and was told the baby prob stopped growing at 8. So I was seriously stressed! That 7 week scan went a long way in reassuring me!

Jess- I am trying to remember if I got cramping just before bfp… Seems like I did but mild. And no, it is not a bad sign from anything I have read. In fact here is a bnb thread you can do some follow up on:

https://babyandbump.momtastic.com/two-week-wait/311716-cramping-during-2ww.html

Maybe this is your month?:happydance: So be careful re:running too hard. I don’t think bd’ing can hurt anything as long as you are not, um, getting’ craaaaazzyyy lol! :haha: (e.g. super rough, etc…) Other than that you should be fine. Let’s see, looking at your chart it actually looks really good. Your pre-ov temps ranged in the 96’s and you are way over your coverline at 6 dpo! Not trying to encourage false hope but it does look good  What you felt could be implantation  I know some experience mild uterine cramping at this point as the egg is actually burrowing deep into your uterine wall (ouch, right?!) you might get some spotting too if this is implantation……I’m gonna be watching your chart! :haha: I am officially a chart stalker :haha:

I also had a mmc at 12 weeks, baby had stopped growing at 8-10 weeks, also had a mc at 7 weeks, ask your mw she can book it for you

Gncope- ouch, sounds like you have been put thru the mill this week :nope: poor lady! :hugs: Did they say what causes the OHSS? I hope oyou get feeling better soon and the swelling reduces  Fx’d for next month!

Tracy- is this like a pap smear they want you to do? Do you have to do it during AF or are you just being cautious in case of bfp? Oh and nope- I wasn’t carrying flag stones (did that job during my second pregnancy ) this is an older pad that I already had laid, except for a few smaller ones. Stupid dog of mine :growlmad: lol, she has decided to benice and constantly brings her toys and drops them at my feet now. Peace?I am thinking…lol! Btw, you made me laugh about your mom reading “the book” lol! :shhh: Diving sounds nice and cooool, I wish I knew how to swim! :haha:

Ali- awww, he fell down the stairs? My dh did that as a 5 year old and almost died, they had to piece parts of his skull togtehr (marble stair case) :nope: Heads up on mother hood ladies- it can be a real bitch when it comes to worrying about kids! (sorry, language) Be prepared to worry constantly! I hope he gets better soon. How’s the head, miss? Drink a cold beer and go to sleep (that’s what I’d do, lol) maybe that should help? Try not to get in the sun too long the solar radiation is a bummer lately. Re: hammock in the back yard…I think my neighbor lady would blow spit wads at me :nope: Remember those as a kid? She’s that childish. Last summer I would lay out to relax and tan and she would always come out and bang up and down the fence to wake me (tho I was never sleeping) or play loud acid rock…Once she heard that I love hard rock she stopped  lol! Anyway, today is lawn mowing day, got the front done, now on to the back and those DISGUSTING grasshoppers…..

Jess- where you at girl??

Little Declan is a trooper.. he wasn't going to let a little bump on the head ruin his birthday! He had a great day and got lots of great toys, good food and yummy cake. It is his 3rd concussion and he only turned 4 today! He has 2 older brothers and insists on keeping up with them so what can you do? Sorry you have a crazy neighbor lady that won't let you enjoy a nap in your back yard! That is terrible! Maybe you need to get a water balloon launcher and launch them at her when she is out in her yard. :haha:

I head down to have my scan tomorrow, does anyone know what they are looking for on the baseline scan? I think we are counting follicles? Yet it is only day 3 so what should we see? I guess I'll find out tomorrow, LOL

Yikes! You all make the book sound pretty kinky dare I wonder what a movie would be like  LOL! And I think it is funny you ladies and your moms:haha:

Ali, I am not sure on the scan as I've never had one for follicles. I would google it but my computer will just freeze on me  lol

Today was not too bad in way of heat...cooked while mowing grass but afterard I took a cool shower and put on a sheath dress and we kept the AC on all day so pretty decent...still working on my assignment as I kept getting called to other projects :growlmad: Better hurry, right? All bets are on- will I get it done tonight or not? :haha:

hey Ali, it was a documentary kind of thing on last night, lots of writers and celebrities telling you what they thought of the book. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. They did mention the movie though, which I think is going to be quite hard to make considering it doesn't want to be a 'porn' film. Theres so much speculation over who will play Christian, but then they are saying its irrelevant who plays Ana.

Coy, the smear should be done when you're not bleeding, so between AF and 'O'. As you have to give about 2-3 weeks notice to book an appointment, its quite difficult to know when to fit it in. As I know that if I don't get a bfp this time, AF should be due on 4th August, I will book an appointment today from around the 11th, should all be ok then. They don't want to do it if there's a chance of a bfp as it is quite invasive and could cause problems.

Hi terri I managed to watch a bit of it but was a bit boring so turned over to watch my csi lol

Thanks for belated b-day wishes Ali I dont feel 42 or look it as people keep saying so what the heck, the kids must keep me young lol

Hmmmmpf!

Working again today, but there is nothing going on, come on people, put your houses on the market and give me some work to do LOL!

Been watching a little bit of the Olympics, but not a lot, we're not huge sport fans, but as Rebecca Adlington lives a couple of miles away from us, we like to follow her. Mansfield is very proud of her Bronze medal last night, she was quite a bit quicker in qualifying, but still flippin' quick eh?

The sun has gone in now and my walk this morning was pretty chilly, was glad I had my coat on. Last night was hot though, I was wondering if the overnight heat is effecting my morning temps as they all seem pretty low this cycle, don't really know whats going on, unless they are lower as my body is trying to keep me cooler.

does anyone know have a herbal remedy to delay af a friend gets married soon and due on around her wedding day but cant take anything that has hormonal in

:hi: Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing fantastic today!

Coy...Did you finish your assignment? I'm glad you are my official "chart stalker"...I am completely open to opinions. Just like the rest of us in here, I really want a BFP SOON!! It would be awesome to tell BF on his birthday (August 24) that he will be a daddy in April...I will have to come up with a really creative way to tell him...if it is on his birthday maybe I will mail him a birthday card from the "baby." :haha: But if it is another time, I don't know how I will tell him. I want it to be original and special. What do you think? Any creative ideas?

Ali...How are you today? You have a scan today, right? Did you find out what they are looking for on a baseline scan? Be sure to ask LOTS of questions so you can come back and share info with the rest of us... :winkwink:

Terri...Anything interesting going on? You are on your TWW, right? Could that dip in your temp yesterday be the implantation dip that I have read about? I'm not really sure how the temps work ...this is my first cycle doing it...

Alin...I hope your birthday was great! Happy belated birthday!! I know it would have been better with an expected baby bump...but it will happen. I'm hoping to conceive before I turn 41 (in February)...It's so funny...I look at the people I went to school with and most of them seem so much older than me. Some of them are even grandparents already!!! My BF says it is because I look, feel, and act young. I hope I am always that way...

Kelly, GN, and everyone else...How are ya'll doing?

AFM...I'm still a little concerned about the cramping I had after BD'ing yesterday. It was similar to the cramps I felt after I had my DS and began breastfeeding... It only lasted about 30 minutes...but I have never had that happen before.

I spent most of the weekend watching the Olympics. BF and I are huge sport fans. And while I am partial to the USA, I find myself just as excited and almost emotional when I watch the medal ceremonies, no matter who gets the gold. The USA gymnastics girls were really struggling on their floor routines yesterday. They were stepping out of bounds. And to top it all off, the current world champ, Jordyn Wieber, failed to qualify for the Women's All-Around final. So sad for her...

jess im the same and some younger than me meaing in there 20's look older than me lol perhaps cause was never a smoker or drinker so keeps us young looking lol,i amalso stalklng your chart which is looking good

Hi jess, yup, certainly am, 9 dpo today. Not sure what happened with the temps at all this cycle, they all seem pretty low to me. At least it went back up to the cover line today. Fingers crossed it is an implantation dip, but I do tend to have a dip anyway in most cycles around 8dpo for some reason.

Still not feeling it, I'm sure this is another negative cycle, but I know, its not over yet. I will be testing on Saturday while Hubby is away on a mountain biking weekend with the 'boys' in Wales. I say boys, the average age is about 40, but they're just big kids when they get together. Theres about 30 men and 1 woman and guess who Hubby is sharing with???? Good job I'm not the jealous sort isn't it?

Jess- nice high temps again! Very steady rise up...you are 7 dpo right? R U going to test anywhere between Thursday and Saturday? :happydance:

Hey Alin...yeah, I am not a smoker either...never have...but I do drink on occasion. But I perhaps attribute a little of my youth to staying active, working out on a regular basis...oh yeah, and having a BF that is 13 years my junior! :haha: It is funny that no one thinks I am older or he is younger. He actually looks a bit older and I look a bit younger, so we meet in the middle. :winkwink:

Terri...How long are your cycles? Mine are pretty regular (27-28 days). I have my fingers crossed for you...and for me too... (and prayers sent up!). So why is ONE woman going on a boys trip? :saywhat: That makes zero sense in my mind! But yes, good thing you are not jealous... :)

Coy...I am trying to figure out when I should test? I am torn. I have two FRER that I was saving for...well, I don't know what for...I guess until I am officially late. But then the early response really isn't needed, right? So, should I test this weekend? Terri is two days ahead of me (9DPO) and she is testing this weekend. Maybe I will test on Sunday...

BTW...any ideas on a special way to deliver the news to my BF...just in case it happens...:winkwink:

Ok Ms Terri...I was looking at your chart and it says your name is Tracey...Lol! I keep calling you Terri...

Hey, my cycles are all over the place, the last one was 67 days, but this one looks like its going to be about 38 as I've been charting with FF for about a year, it gives an average of what it expects you to do, but the 2WW for me has been a max of 15 and a min of 6 days, so anything could happen really, the chart gives an average of 12 days. FF tells me to test on 14dpo, which is Saturday 4th, so if AF hasn't come by then, I'll be testing. I am grossly overweight, so that effects my cycles and the fact that I have PCOS does too.

The blokey thats organising the trip runs a cycling club and he is taking someone with him that is in his club, he has asked everyone if they mind him bringing her along and the majority have said its ok, but they don't really want to share with her. My Hubby is very shy around roudy men and seems to get on really well with women, whereas I get on better with men. He regularly tells me that one woman is plenty for him.

Its funny, Ian is a real Gentleman, I have so many people telling me how lovely he is and that we eminate happiness when we're together, which is really nice. We're not in the slightest bit romantic, but we understand eachother and seem to know what the other one is thinking a lot of the time too. We have trust, which obviously is very important in a marriage.

Ok Ms Terri...I was looking at your chart and it says your name is Tracey...Lol! I keep calling you Terri...

Hehehe, my name is Tracey, but I used to get called Terri at school and its kind of stuck. Either will do. :D

Hey Everyone!

So much to catch up on! WHEW!

Jess - yay! nice temps :) If you can wait, I'd wait until 10-11 DPO, that seems to be when most people get BFPs if they are going to get them early.

Tracey - OK I will try to remember to call you Tracey, although I'm really terrible at remembering names! GL testing on Saturday :)

Coy - what is new with you today? Any funny stories of your girls?

AFM - I had my baseline ultrasound done today and there were 2 follicles of 7mm on my left ovary, and there were some on the right too, but they only count the ones bigger than 7mm. I also just got my bloodwork back.

FSH - 6.83
LH - 9.07
E2 - 133.2
P4 - 1.52

The only one that seems to be a little too high is the E2, it should be between 25 and 75, or so I have seen online, but she said it was fine. I also see a pretty big temp dip this morning, and I didn't sleep well at all last night. I wonder if these things contribute to the higher E2 level? The FS said that they were fine and not to worry.

I started my injections, she put me on Gonal-F 75 IU, and I go back Friday morning for further bloodwork.

Tracey- One woman on an all-guy trip? :saywhat: I am with Jess, what is she thinking? Oh, kudos to you for not being the jealous type…Me personally, I’d stomp ass :haha: But that’s just me lol…..

Jess- yes, if you have a FRER and oyur cycles are regular, say 28-30 days, etc, then I don’t see any reason why not test on Sunday? Saturday would be 10 dpo and that’s when I got my bfp, albeit, faint on a FRER but there nonetheless! There are variances of course, implantation, etc. If your recent cramping was due to implantation then Sunday would probably be enough time for hcg to produce into your urine…I’d test out of sheer “I can’t stop myself” factor :haha: Btw, your BF is 13 years your junior? You go girl  My dh is actually 17 years my senior and at first it really bothered him…he is very young looking though, most don’t know his age on sight. He felt he was “robbing the cradle” but after nearly a decade of marriage he’s gotten over it  Anyway- love at first sight, literally :cloud9:. We met and he asked me out same day and that evening we were talking marriage…then 6 days later were married, lol. Seems like we have always been best friends- I think that is the most important part of a successful relationship, just being really awesome friends :hugs:

And nope, I did not get my assignment done :nope: Finishing up today. I’ll get docked a couple points for a day late but my dumb computer kept freezing up! Seriously, excuses aside, it took me 3.5 hours to post two comments to my instructor! By 1 a.m. I gave up and went to bed  Then my 3 year old got me up early  so I am still exhausted! :haha:

Ali- how are ya today? K, what is Gonal-F 75 IU and what is it for??? Sounds like you had a night like mine :growlmad: What’s a gal gotta do to get some rest?? Lol!

Ali- how are ya today? K, what is Gonal-F 75 IU and what is it for??? Sounds like you had a night like mine :growlmad: What’s a gal gotta do to get some rest?? Lol!

Gonal-F is a synthetic FSH hormone that helps you make multiple follicles that are supposed to be nice and healthy and have eggs in them! With this, I should get 2-3 follicles to 18-22mm and ready to burst. Some women have had twins and triplets.. eek! I wouldn't mind twins, but triplets might be a bit much! :haha:

I go back on Friday to see what my hormone levels are, and they will either increase or decrease my dose at that time. Then next Tuesday I go back and we'll do another ultrasound to see if I have some nice follicles :)
