Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hi ladies :hi:

Ali- yep, I think you can cause reyes syndrome in utero...from what I have read anyway. As soon as you forget AF she'll show btw  lol! Crazy womens bodies, huh!

Kelly- nope- I avoid aspirin like the plague when prego or breastfeeding just to stay on the safe side

Jess- I think the lack of crosshairs is because 1) you just started temping so ff doesn't "know" you yet, and 2) maybe missed a few temps? Anyway, I think you are good, do you keep track of cm? If it disappears then you ovulated  BTW- I will absolutely keep in touch after birth! You ladies are my gang! :hugs: Re: having more kids. I am totally up for it if God and dh agree with me :) Dh and I actually talked about it last night and agree if God wants us to have more children then it will happen. As I am getting older  no bc for me after this one, just see what happens

AFM- tail bone is feeling better today  It still hurts to sit but not as bad and I can bend over without excruciating pain. But last night I stretched a lot before bed and also after laying down Augusta did these goofy little sommersaults that had me laughing out loud. Woke dh up  lol. Anyway, I am wondering if she wa spressing on the nerves down there and when she sommersaulted or flipped maybe moved off them? I sure as heck hope so! Anyway had a miserable night but other than being tired I feel physically better today.

We have a doctors appointment today in a few hours. I talked to dh about the bee-otch assistant:haha: He said "Oh yeah, she has a hang up on me, that is why she is mean to you" :saywhat: I didn't think he knew, but I guess he did . That is why he ignores her so much when we go in there :smug: lol I will see if I gained a ton or what this time :haha: and hear the hb, and maybe get a measurement? Not sure.......

Oh, my weight control plan now heavily onvolves growing children. They are both going through growth spurts so I fix their breakfast, hurry and fix mine, at which point they are done and come eat off my plate  Bound to lose a few calories that way! :haha:

:hi: Hi Coy!! I'm so glad you will still be with us even after you have the baby! :hugs: It is kind of nice sharing stuff with others that are in similar situations...and you are a wealth of information!!

I feel the same as you do regarding BC.I will never be on BC again...thank goodness!

So, little Augusta is already "getting on your nerves," huh? :haha:  That is not supposed to happen until she is at least 2!! :haha: I'm glad your tailbone is a bit better. I can't wait to hear about your visit to the doctor today. Your DH is a smart one! :winkwink: And the way you typed out "bee-otch" reminded me of the movie "13 Going on 30" with Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo. Have you seen it? It's a good one!

I like your "weight control plan!" Cute!!

So, I have managed to not think about whether I am pregnant or not for about an hour today...I am totally consumed with it! I keep looking at other charts on FF...wondering if I will have any symptoms...I am making myself crazy! I look forward to the gym because I KNOW I wont think about it in there!! When I am in there all I think about is finishing and taking a :shower: ! I did cut my mid-day run out until the TWW is over. It is extremely hot outside and I don't want to take any chances...so I do my 5am cardio on the spin bike and my late afternoon weight workout...:bodyb:

Jess! I know how you feel! The 2WW is so crazy, and you can't stop thinking about it. I hope this month you get your sticky bean  The :bodyb: icon made me laugh out loud, it is so funny, well so is the :shower: TEEHEE! :haha:

OMG! What a load of gas bags, I came on here a few days ago, planned to read through everything and never caught up until today.

Its good to hear everyone is doing OK, Ali, sorry about July, but FX for August and the double squirt. It makes sense really as its recommended to BD every other day, so a couple of squirts seem sensible. Wow, a bear, racoon and a beaver eh? The most we get are magpies and pigeons, and of course, our 2 cats!

Coy, your girls sound adorable.

Angel, sorry about your BFN too, but again, fx for August.

Kelly, congrats on your BFP, I know you are concerned, but please try to stay relaxed, you don't want to get yourself stressed. The ladies are great on here for advise, so you're definitely doing the right thing by talking to them.

Jess, well done you for remembering your temps. I went away last month and forgot to take my thermometer with me. I was lost, I still woke up at the time I normally take my temperature. You really do get used to it. Hopefully your crosshairs will show up soon. I actually had a day this cycle when I got up about an hour before taking my temp, to go to the loo, then my temp went really high at my normal time, so as I knew roughly when I o'd and my boobs are telling me I have definitely o'd, I took out that high temp and the crosshairs showed straight away. Yours will probably be a combination of missing a few temps and it being your first cycle charting. Hopefully this will be your cycle and you won't have to think about charting anymore.

Everyone else, :hi: Sorry its been so long since I was last on.

My evenings are being taken up with reading through the 50 shades books again. Just started 'Darker' for the 2nd time. LOL

Hello Everyone! :hi:

Jess - good work on your temps, it is hard to remember at first but then you get used to it and actually look forward to seeing what your temp is doing. Its almost as exciting as POAS! Don't worry about minor temp changes, it looks good and I think by tomorrow you'll see the O day and your coverline. FF makes you wait 3 days I believe.

Coy - sounds like you really are between a rock and a hard place. I guess you just keep testing at home and make sure you aren't seeing any spikes or valleys. Key to doing that is not to eat anything high on the glycemic index, and to eat something every few hours. While I don't have diabetes, I try to eat as if I did, so that I don't get it.. :haha: I'm sure if you still see fluxuations, you will insist on the GD test, you are like me and will not take NO for an anwer!!

gncope - I'm not familiar with all of the things you are doing, as I have never don IVF, but it sounds promising! Best of luck and please try to keep us updated on your progress

tiatammy - does your insurance not cover your HSG (I think that is what it is called), mine was covered as it is not considered a fertility treatment but fertility testing. I'm not sure where you live, but it may end up being covered. Also, it is a good thing to do, as you'll know if you have any blockages, and even if you don't they can 'clear the cobwebs' so to speak and make it easier for the :spermy: to swim and the fertilized egg to float down to the uterus. and GL!

AFM - I'm doing OK. I thought I would be bad last night and drink some wine and have a little pity party, but I just wasn't feeling too down. I think because I have a plan for August, and it is way better than July's!! Only issue is that I need my period to come ASAP! I guess I could always stay one more week in Canada, that is an option too. I think that I will do that if my period doesn't come by tomorrow. I mean what is more important? Me getting pregnant or my boss missing me in the office for one more week (I am working remotely so its not like I'm unavailable to work). Plus the weather is so nice up here! :haha: OK that settles it! If I don't get my period in time, I'm staying another week! YAY! :haha: My temp did drop a lot this morning, and I bet it will drop some more tomorrow and AF :witch: will arrive tomorrow. Seems to like to come on schedule, and that is right on schedule!

Hi sweetie, no I dont have medical coverage all Of this is cash money out of pocket. So you can imagine what I am going through, But thanks wish I did have medical coverage, but just not my luck. HUGS HUGS FRIENDS

Oh yes, baby Aspirin,

I actually have a pot of this on my desk in front of me now, I was recommended it by a friend, but they said it should only be used once you get a bfp, its only a really low dose of aspirin, but I'm still not sure whether to use it or not. I think if I get a bfp, I'll go see my doc, then ask him what he would suggest.

Hi ladies!

Jess & Ali- thanks for the encouragement! :hugs: The assistant was there today but dh ignored her so she huffed out. What does she expect? lol, Anyway, great news, my glucose is perfectly normal. Doc said the heart doesn't change when we get prego- then we have a 30 to 50 percent increase in blood, right? well, it stresses the heart a bit which caused the palpitations I was getting. That stress in turn spiked my glucose. I should have considered it as I know when dh gets stressed his sugar spikes. Anyways, other great news- not only have I not gained any weight I actually lost almost a pound! :happydance: Doc decided to be concerned about that. I acted dumb though and didn't tell him I cut out heavy carbs and increased my workout a bit. Carbs are embarassing for me for some reason :haha: Evil noodles! :growlmad: Anyway my belly measured at 29 centimeters which is perfect for last month comparison, so she is growing just right. Got to hear a nice strong heartbeat also but his meter doesn't count??? Anyway, all is great today

Jess- smart in cutting out the mid-day runs in the heat! Especially since you may have a little egg in there trying to implant! Don't overdo it! :)

I am starving so gonna go grab a snack then try to figure out what to make the fam for dinner.........

Tracy- so glad to "see" you again! :hugs: I miss you when you don't post and was wondering about you yesterday!

Hello Ladies

Coy - it sounds like you are doing great and the baby is healthy and strong!

Jess - yes, the TWW is a killer. I could try to give you advice (don't over-analyze every symptom), but I know that in a couple weeks, I'm going to be doing all the things I'd advise against :winkwink:

Everyone else -

So, it's official. We're doing medicated IUI this month! I'm starting on Clomid tonight.
Ali - I'm going to need your insights :)

:bunny: Apple

Apple!

Good to hear from you, and this is really exciting :) I have only done the clomid/hCG/progesterone combination. I can tell you that clomid is not a fun drug to be on. I had really bad hot flashes for the 5 days I was taking it, and was a little off (I could just tell that my moods were not normal, I was anxious, and weepy, etc). Once I finished with the 5 days, my moods returned to normal, but around ovulation my ovaries were pretty sore, also my ovaries were sore towards the end of my cycle too. Ovidrel is a different form of trigger shot that helps you ovulate, and I believe it will cause hpt's to give you false positives. If you have some IC's (internet cheapies) you can test yourself from trigger onwards so you know when the trigger is out of your system. I am guessing you will also be on progesterone starting a few days after you ovulate. I found that with each day I became more and more exhausted, and other symptoms appeared that made me think I was pregnant. Things like frequent urination, and really high BBTs (post-O). Others have said that their boobs hurt really badly too. I didn't have this symptom, but then again I'm not sure I will ever get really sore boobs as I've had a breast reduction and I think my milk ducts were damaged (I could be wrong, and I hope I am). I just know that my boobs don't get tender all that often. As for the gonal-F, I have never taken this, but it is an injection that you take to help stimulate your ovaries to produce nice healthy follicles.

I hope this helps! GL! FX'd :dust:

:yipee: I'm glad that you found out what was causing your blood sugar to be all wonky  Maybe your Doctor isn't a quack after all!!!

Please keep eating, you need to make sure you get lots of nourishment for you and babes!!! Silly girl you are supposed to gain a little weight each month. Have some carbs, just be smart about the kinds you eat! Like sweet potatoes, and brown rice, and oatmeal! These things will also help you maintain nice blood sugar levels too.

So glad that everything is progressing so well, and I'm also glad you aren't going to desert us when Augusta arrives! I know I would miss you terribly!!!

:hi: Morning Ladies!

Where is everyone? Usually I'm greeted with a bunch of messages over night. I guess you were all sleeping ! I could use a few myself. I tried to stay up last night to finish a book I was reading. Alas, I didn't finish the book, but I did end up getting too little sleep!

Well my temp dropped below 97, and from recent months, that means AF should arrive today. That is good, providing she shows up!

Jess - ohh.. you did get your crosshairs!!! https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3e2dd6 Nice temp rise!!!

Coy - how did you sleep last night? Any kids crawling all over you? Any more acrobatics by babes?

Everyone else.. hello! I hope you are all doing well and hanging in there :)

Hi Ladies,

Well, I'm on 6dpo today with nothing to report. I have my normal sore boobs, which start about 2 days after ovulation every cycle. I have a feeling it won't be my month, this month, don't know why, I'm just not feeling it at the moment.

I've just been working out my holiday entitlement from work, I have 2.5 weeks to book off before the end of September, so I'm trying to think of somewhere to whisk my Husband off to. Looking at Scotland, maybe a cottage or something. I think we could do with a break, to be honest. I know we had a holiday in May, but it was diving every day, so we were busy all the time.

We spent about 4 hours in our back garden last night, completely blitzed it, it had really gone overgrown with all the rain we've had over the last few weeks, then this week, its been blistering hot, so we didn't want to go out in it. Well, its done now, just the front garden to do now.

Hope everyone is doing well, now I've caught up, you've been quite quiet today. LOL!

Hey! :wohoo: someone to talk to! HEHE. It is quiet here isn't it? I hope you are doing OK through the 2WW, it always feels like it is going as slow as molasses! Good news is that you are getting closer to the point where you might be able to test! Don't give up yet, I hear women saying all the time, I didn't have any symptoms at all, and here I am :bfp: So don't count yourself out just because you don't have symptoms. Plus at 6DPO chances are that you haven't implanted yet. That usually happens between 6-12 DPO so you shouldn't have symptoms yet anyway! :haha:

Sounds like you guys did a workout in the garden  I wish we could get more rain. It rained a little yesterday, but that was the first day of rain in 3 week! It is looking to be a nice day here today. Perhaps a little on the cool side, but sunny. As for your holiday to Scotland, that sounds wonderful!!! Can I come too? :haha:

I'm actually taking a week off starting tomorrow (well 5pm today) and won't be working again until August 6th. CAN'T WAIT!! Don't worry I will be checking in with my favorite people here on BnB!!!

Hey Ali, I'm actually at work now, but we have absolutely no work coming in at the moment, I don't think anyone has been thinking about selling houses, with the weather being so bad, they've just stayed inside. That effects us big time. Oh well, at least it gives me time to catch up.

I didn't feel any symptoms at all last time i got a bfp, but I just don't want to get my hopes up, I do that every time, then feel really down. I don't want to focus too much on it now, so I'm kind of telling myself its an unsuccessful cycle, then i won't be as disappointed if it is, but if its a bfp cycle, it'll make it all the better.

I know exactly how you feel. I wasn't very optimistic about last month's cycle either, I just knew that I wasn't pregnant. Thing is that I usually start getting AF symptoms almost immediately after O, so for 15-16 days I feel really crappy. I have no idea why my symptoms start so soon, but they just get progressively worse until AF arrives. Then she shows, and about 2 days later I feel like a million bucks!

Well I for one hope that you are pregnant, but I totally understand not wanting to get your hopes up.

Ali & Tracy- Good morning! Trac soundslike you've been busy...I need to weed through my pathetic little garden but at the moment got so much to do I, um, could care less about it  lol! Think I am being lazy! Ali- hm, nice temp drop but no :witch: yet??? Nuts! :growlmad: Soon I bet, seems like she was a bit late last month??

AFM- gorgeous coooool morning here! And I am the onlyone up in the house  Mad at the dog for piddling (she can be evil when she wants to) so kicked her outside...On that note (sorry ladies :)) As mom's ya gotta be careful your language! My Boston Terrier decided to be mad at me for some reason the other day......Anyway I had planted a big patio of flag stones in our back yard and had just finished cleaning the rocks off when she acame right over, squatted on the rock in front of me and left a HUGE puddle! :growlmad: So I took after her with my mouth just motoring, you know, and some words came out  Well, my 3 year old walked in the house yesterday, stopped in front of her dad, planted tiny fists on her hips and declared "Rocky pissed all over the rocks!" .............Oh my shame.......lol!

Anyway, hoping for a long cool day today

so what is this new book I keep hearing about? Grey-something???

Hey Coy!

Happy Friday :) That sure sounds cute to see your 3 yr old saying that! I bet you had to laugh even if you weren't happy about her language. :haha:

My cycles have been exactly 32 days for the past 3-4 months, every once in a while it gets funky and comes early or late, but usually they are exactly 32 days. Well today is day 33, which means I should get AF and then it will turn into day 1! I hope!!!

As for this Grey book, well you might just have to go get it. It is a naughty, raunchy book but is taking the world by storm. They call it mommy-porn. This woman EL James has written a trilogy and the first book is called Fifty Shade of Grey. Let's just say it is like reading a romance novel on crack! Or maybe erotica? In it the heroin talks about 'kinky fuckery' and her 'inner goddess'. It is quite entertaining! Go get it!!!

:hi: Good morning everyone!!

Ali...yes, I finally got my crosshairs! :happydance: I was so excited when I saw them this morning...Now I actualy look forward to taking my temps every morning!! (Does that sound crazy?) It's funny to me that when something regarding my fertility excites me, I can't wait to share it with everyone here...:flower:

So the temp rise is good? I went to bed about two hours later than I normally do. From what I've read online, as long as I get at least three hours of consecutive sleep my temp should be ok. And I got 4 hours. Needless to say, all I want to do right now is !
It is hard to see a real pattern when I look at other charts because everyone is so different. My temps are really low comparitively speaking. But I am not real concerned about it since my cycles are really regular. (27-28 days EVERY month).
Finding time for :sex: seems to be our biggest issue. But if it doesn't happen for us this month, I will plan a little get-a-way next month around my ovulation week (which just so happens to be around his birthday) and we will try try again! :winkwink:

Coy...how are you today? I'm glad your dr appointment went well. And your blood sugar is all under control!!! That's GREAT!!

Terri...I am 4DPO...we are really close! I have no symptoms either.

Last night I was at a fundraiser and one of my BFs clients announced that she is 11 weeks pregnant. She's 30 years old and this is her first. Initially she was devastated ...her career keeps her crazy busy. But now she and her long term BF are very happy! I was crazy excited for her too...but when she told me she got pregnant on the pill :saywhat: I just wanted to stomp her big toe! How is it that she is on BC and gets pregnant but here we are, no pill AND no pregnancy? It just Aint right!! :growlmad: :haha:
But I am convinced our time will come. I just keep hoping and keep praying and keep believing!!

Coy...have you not heard of or read Fifty Shades of Grey? I read it and just started on book #2...INTENSE would be an accurate description I think...the notorious Christian Grey is definitely INTENSE...

Coy...have you not heard of or read Fifty Shades of Grey? I read it and just started on book #2...INTENSE would be an accurate description I think...the notorious Christian Grey is definitely INTENSE...

I finished the series a few months ago now. Yes, intense is a good word to describe it. If you can believe it, my Mom is reading them now! I'm worried she is going to ask me questions about some of it as I'm sure this is stuff she has never even heard about! :haha: I don't think you are supposed to teach your parents about SEX! HAHAHAHA

Jess! YAY for your crosshairs!! I checked your chart this morning and was so happy :) I knew they would appear, but it does take a few days for it to appear at least the first month you chart. After you have charted a few months, I think FF starts to know your pattern and can predict things easier.

I'm happy for your friend, but hey.. how did she manage to get pregnant on the pill? ARGH! No wonder you wanted to stomp on her toe! Our time will come, of that I am positive!

Jess and Ali-

LOL! Ali- one thing I can gaurentee you is that "mom" probably knows a lot more than you think! :haha: Moms have a funny way of playing dumb about certain things to their children- trust me  Just don't ask her though! lol.....
And Jess- re: the birth control pregnancy. I was actually on bc when I got prego with Teagen. Dh and I had just married, a few months later found out I was pregnant and then we mc'd. :sad1: Anyway we decided at that point to let my body heal so went on bc, a low dose hormone. Well, A few weeks later I became violently sick and dh threatened to take me to the doctor, so we tested and got a bfp! We have sonce theorized that the low dose hormone may have been something my body needed at the time to boost efrtility. If your friend is a workaholic and over stressed her body may not produce the hormones as she needs them. A low dose bc may have been just the kick she "needed" to get prgo  Anyway, that's the dh and I had it figured! :haha:

Ah, my hopes for a calm, peaceful, cooool day was shmattered to peices :nope: The blasted sun came out :growlmad: and I literally cooked in my skin all day :growlmad: I told dh I felt like a beef brisket on a rotissery! :haha: I spent the day hot, sweaty, and grumpy. And I have a pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder/back area that's making me miserable :( lol, enough crybabying form me! :haha: Good news is night has struck and brought cool breezes with it ahhhhh

Coy - you are probably right, but the Grey book gets really kinky, and I don't think I could handle myself if I thought for one moment that my parents had a dungeon or whatever in the basement! I think that would be enough to drive me totally insane  You just don't think of parents that way!

Beef brisket sounds yummy! I went up to a friends place for dinner and we had spaghetti and meatballs. Kate did a really good job :)

AFM - I got my period around 11pm last night. I'm not really sure if I should be on CD1 or CD2 today? I put it down as yesterday since that is what my cycle is 32 days, and so now I'm officially on to my next cycle. I will call the FS and leave her a message letting her know that I'm coming in on Monday morning for US and bloodwork. Since that will be CD 3/4 I think she said she wanted me to start the pergonal ASAP too. So if I have to stay a few extra days, so be it, I'm not going to waste a month using drugs that have had such positive results. So between that and the double IUI we are going to go for the gusto this month and hopefully by August 23-25 I will see a :bfp:

:hi: to everyone else, although this thread gets pretty quiet on the weekends!
