Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- maybe I will feel like spaghetting and meatballs today? :haha: lol, it looks like it is going to be hot again here :nope: Not yet 1030 am and already bright and hot. Ugh. Anyway- no, try not to picture the dungeon hen you were growing up! I can't buy the Grey books...my little girl is an extensive reader and she is also a snoop :haha: God forbid she find something like that! lol

Wow, sounds like you have a good plan this month, stepping it up a notch  You are very determined and I haven't seen you get really "down" yet so thank goodness! Stay positive! :hugs: Won't be long now!

So between that and the double IUI we are going to go for the gusto this month and hopefully by August 23-25 I will see a :bfp:

:hi: to everyone else, although this thread gets pretty quiet on the weekends!

Hey Ali: I've taken Clomid twice so far. It's 4pm and I just woke up after passing out for 2 hours after a full night's sleep! Other than that, no major symptoms. My IUI is scheduled for approx Aug 5. Will you be around the same day? TWW buds again?

Angel: will you be our TWW bud again too?

:hi: hello everyone! Usually I'm not here on the weekends because I stay so busy but I'm chilling' today...watching the Olympics...wishing my TWW would hurry!!

I think my IUIs will be a little later, I'm only on CD2 right now. I go in for blood work and a baseline US on Monday, we'll see what they say then, but based on my last few months I don't ovulate until CD 17 which would be August 11th I think.

We'll all be in the 2WW together, and I'll be hoping and praying for you :)

It was pretty warm here today too. We just grilled sausages on the grill and had them with sauerkraut. YUM!

Went over to the island and let the doggies run and swim and watched the olympics tonight. GO Team Canada

I have been doing more research about aspirin and its benefits to women trying to get pregnant, and I have decided to give it a try. The benefits out weigh the risks in my humble opinion, providing you stop taking it as soon as you find out you are pregnant. From what I read it improves blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, and prevents the blood clots that can inhibit implantation. This may be TMI but I have noticed that when I have my period I have really large blood clots that come out, and was thinking that perhaps this is what is impeding me from getting pregnant? So I just took my first dose, and will continue to do so for the rest of the month.
Who knows? Maybe it will help? I need all the help I can get right now!!

Ali- I think that is a smart idea about the aspirin--yes, I see no danger or harm in taking it while ttc- it is after bfp that it could cause problems. So go for it! And yes, the large cots could be concerning  I used to have those too when having difficulty ttc. This time aorund tho no issues with clots, so  def makes sense! Ooooo sausage and saurkraut!:cloud9: We used to make sausage and cabbage soup, OMG I love that stuff! Ahhhh, but my dh doesn't like cabbage :nope: Guess I will have to make it anyway someday :haha: I do make a pretty awesome potatoe soup...Onions, potatoes, ham, and cream to make it into a chowder :cloud9: I love it on cold winter days and my girls do to. Man, I am suddenly hungry! LOL :haha:

FirstTry- bout a week to go before you IUI then! That'll go by so fast! I can't wait to see your bfp!

AFM- yep, today was another scorcher :nope: I did my school then tried to take a nap as I was literally exhausted for some reason (baking babies in my tummy seems to be very tiring  LOL!) As soon as I dozed off my girls ham-yammered into my room to wake me up  It is like amiracle as I never take naps, ever, no matter how much I may need or ant them. So I finally give in today and look what happens, lol! Anyway, cooked a simple dinner of lemon pork and salad....Last night made black beans and rice and my girls loved it! In fact Teagen had the leftover black beans for breakfast silly kid! :haha:

I am off to take a cooling shower and get ready for sleep  I am pooped. Lol, tmi I teased the girls the other ngiht Teagen says "I am pooped" while falling asleep and I commented back "If you are pooped then I must be diarrhead" :haha: :haha: Ever feel that tired?

I think its a good idea too ali i did my research as well and decieded not to take and now of what you just said confirms i made the right choice how are all you ladies today xx

Hi ladies!!! Just popping in to see how we're all doing? Sorry, havent had much time to catch up so hope everybody is doing ok?

Firsttry... yes re the TWW buddy :winkwink:. I think Ali, Alin, you and I are about the same time. We can all go crazy together.

Kelly.... how you feeling? I agree re the aspirin. The only reason I'll be taking it if I get a BFP is because the doctors have recommeded it for me and my circumstances with RMCs. I have changed my mind about taking it before a BFP and am now taking it daily so who knows it may help:thumbup:.

Ali... go for it girl, hopefully 3rd time lucky:flower:

Jess, TWW counting down nicely woman xo

Coy and everybody else :flower:

For UK ladies (and if anybody else would like to comment) - have you ever missed or didnt bother going to a NHS specialist appointment, you didnt ring to cancel/reschedule or anything and they have resent for you? I'm curious as I missed an appointment earlier in the year with a consultant (cardiologist) as I had just had a MC. I didnt bother going as my mood was crap and I thought it was just a simple review meeting as I have been attending cardio for years. They've now resent for me, which I have never heard of happening before if I missed other appointments over the years. Normally if you miss going to a specialist clinic/consultant they just write you off the books etc.

Just curious....

Kelly- how are you feeling? Has ms set in at all yet? Love your ticker btw very cute! 23 days til mw appointment though…do they usually wait this long in UK? I guess here also but I got pushy and demanded to be seen sooner, lol :haha:

Jess- how’s the weekend going? Are you taking it easy today? I am glad you dropped the super long hot runs while in the tww

Ali- how are ya lady?

Angel- great to hear from you! What is an NHS specialist? I have probably read you ladies talking before of it  but I have a huge case of baby brain today :nope: and my kids are fighting right now which takes the other smidgen of brain power left :sadangel: lol!

AFM-got to mow the grass, cut the weeds and have a huge assignment in school today also :nope: Not looking forward to that as this computer is so funky, lol! I have to look way up high to see the screen the way it is set up. This computer has a dual purpose and I can't go moving it around

Re:babes. She is kicking me hard these days! Like wake me from sleep kind of hard kicks....That's awesome though, a good indication she is strong and healthy! I have been working out with weights some but haven't taken any long walks the last few days. For some reason just been exhausted. I let myself sleep in this morning though :cloud9: lol, my room is sooooo cool and dark in the morning, feels like Heaven, I hate to get out of bed :haha:

Oh, btw...I have been craving peanut butter for some reason  I only let myself eat alittle bit each day for the protein but am hopeing it doesn't start packing on pounds :nope: Gotta watch myself :haha: lol!

Well it has been one rough week...I feel like I say this every week unfortunately. I. Had my egg retrieval last Tuesday and it went well. They retrieved 13 follies and out of that 11 matured. Unfortunately I have developed ohss (ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome). It is extremely painful. I have been back in the hospital. They were concerned about ovarian torsion but thankfully my ovary was ok...just huge. The one was the size of a huge grapefruit! I have a Lot of fluid in my abdomen and uterus which may still need to be drained. They cancelled my transfer which I expected. They were hoping to freeze 5 or 6 embryos last night. I have been taking pain Meds every 4 hours. It. Is difficult to breathe and I am so bloated it is hard to move. We are really hoping the worst is over and I can get better soon so we can try frozen embryo transfer next month.
I have been thinking about you ladies and wondering how you have been...I have some catching up to do.

Evening Ladies,

Angel, I've never had a specialist appointment, but I guess it would depend what the appointment was for. I keep getting letters from our Doctors telling me to go for a smear, as its so hard to get an appointment with them and my cycles are all over the place, I call up as soon as I get AF and hope that I can get it in before I ovulate. My appointment was booked for last week, but as had only just ovulated, I cancelled it. I really should get checked out, but I wouldn't want to risk it and they wouldn't perform the procedure if theres a chance of being pregnant. I'm sure I'll be getting another letter from them soon too, they tend to send one every 3 months.

Jess, yes, we are TWW buddies. 8dpo today, huge temp drop to below the cover line. Not sure what thats all about, never known it go that low before. Hopefully it'll go up again tomorrow. Still not feeling anything, but like Ali said, it'd be too early to get any symptoms yet anyway.

Coy, your family sounds adorable, not sure about you laying flagstones though, I hope you weren't carrying them, they're really heavy. I am reading the books on my Kindle, so at least when I read it on the tram, nobody knows what I'm reading. I'm just over half way through the second book for the second time, I would not want to think of my Mum reading them, thats just not right!!!

Kelly, I hope you're doing OK and relaxing a bit more now. Its not long until you meet your midwife, I bet the time will fly by.

FirstTry, good luck with the IUI, hopefully it'll work first time.

Well, after blitzing the garden on Friday, my back is killing me, I've had a bad back for years since an accident I had, but doing certain things make it worse, like gardening. I have actually today put 7 black bin bags in my car, ready to take to the tip tomorrow evening.

Got sun burned again yesterday too, Ian was doing a Scuba diving course and I was the 'surface support' person, which basically means keeping an eye on the time they are under the water, knowing what their dive plan was so that I knew roughly when they would be due to come up again. It was quite a cloudy day for the majority, but on their last 38 minute dive, the sun came out and shone down on my forehead, nose and neck. I never learn, I'm quite fair, so I catch the sun really easily. GRRRRRRRR!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well today. xx

Hey Tracy, Coy, Apple, gncope!

Not much new here. I have a massive headache, and it is HOT and sunny. I'm hanging out inside hoping my headache will go away. I'm not sure if I'm CD2 or CD3, and I'm going in tomorrow morning for my Day 3 blood work and follicle mapping/baseline. The reason I'm not sure whether I'm on CD2 or CD3 is because I got my period around 11pm-12am Friday/Saturday. I think people say that if you get your period late in the day you need to start on the following day. I'm off to a friends childs 4th birthday, but I got a FB message from his mom saying that he fell down the stairs and has a concussion and they were at the hospital this morning. Nothing like knocking yourself out on your birthday! Poor little guy.

Tracy - sorry about the sunburn! They are never any fun, and I am just as fair as you are, so I know how easy it is to burn.

gncope - sorry about the OHSS, that is scary. I hope you are feeling better, and next month you can implant the frozen ones and all will be well! :hugs:

Coy - you really do have a cute family :) I hope you get your assignments done, and have a little peace and quiet. Sounds like you need to find a cool shady spot in the backyard and hang a hammock. That is what I would do

Gncope- ouch, sounds like you have been put thru the mill this week :nope: poor lady! :hugs: Did they say what causes the OHSS? I hope oyou get feeling better soon and the swelling reduces  Fx’d for next month!

Tracy- is this like a pap smear they want you to do? Do you have to do it during AF or are you just being cautious in case of bfp? Oh and nope- I wasn’t carrying flag stones (did that job during my second pregnancy ) this is an older pad that I already had laid, except for a few smaller ones. Stupid dog of mine :growlmad: lol, she has decided to benice and constantly brings her toys and drops them at my feet now. Peace?I am thinking…lol! Btw, you made me laugh about your mom reading “the book” lol! :shhh: Diving sounds nice and cooool, I wish I knew how to swim! :haha:

Ali- awww, he fell down the stairs? My dh did that as a 5 year old and almost died, they had to piece parts of his skull togtehr (marble stair case) :nope: Heads up on mother hood ladies- it can be a real bitch when it comes to worrying about kids! (sorry, language) Be prepared to worry constantly! I hope he gets better soon. How’s the head, miss? Drink a cold beer and go to sleep (that’s what I’d do, lol) maybe that should help? Try not to get in the sun too long the solar radiation is a bummer lately. Re: hammock in the back yard…I think my neighbor lady would blow spit wads at me :nope: Remember those as a kid? She’s that childish. Last summer I would lay out to relax and tan and she would always come out and bang up and down the fence to wake me (tho I was never sleeping) or play loud acid rock…Once she heard that I love hard rock she stopped  lol! Anyway, today is lawn mowing day, got the front done, now on to the back and those DISGUSTING grasshoppers…..

Jess- where you at girl??

My mum is 70 next month and reading 50 shades of grey and then she phoned me tonight to let me know it's on tv tonight at 10pm,I'm not even reading the book pmsl

Ali I usually go by cd 1 next day if get af late at night

Coy you be careful and stop lifting lol

Gn hope they can freeze and you are back to normal soon

Terri I'm due for a smear to and never get round to it but they ask you to go in whilst not bleeding,I'm very over due as always been pg when due for smear

Afm cd 9 today and the witch flew of at last, still low and hoping cycle carries on as it has been ov cd 13-14 as ran out of sticks for monitor so relying on temps and opks, was hoping to be pg before 42 but seeing as I turned 42 on Wednesday it's now before 43 lol.

hey ladies not got any symptons part from being bloated and sore lillys thats it grey eyes yes first appointment at 8 weeks and thats just to do paperwork first scan not till 12 weeks really nervous as i had a mmc and went to my 12 week scan and was told baby had stopped at 6 weeks so am scared i will have to wait all that time to hear the same thing,it doesnt seem very fair

kelly have you asked for a reassurance scan i have had with every pregnancy after my miscarriages

:hi: Hey everyone! I hope today had been terrific for all... The Olympics have me occupied today...but I managed to get a little :sex: time in. Which brings me to my question...afterwards I had uterine cramps...very uncharacteristic...never happened before. I'm in my TWW...is this a bad sign?
