Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- wow, you are one busy woman! No wonder you are stressed out, I have confidence in you though! GL with the interview! Are you Skype-interviewing or how will you do that? I am thinking your headaches must be from some of the meds that you are taking right now...seems like you get some pretty bad ones :nope: , what can you take for them? Lol, at your brother sleeping til afternoon! :haha: Typical bro, right?! "Ugh" is right :haha: And yes, we split our wood. I grew up in the Alaskan bush (serious, deep bush, like 80 air miles from anywhere) so I am pretty darned good with an axe! :smug: But we did buy a hand operated log splitter so I don't have to pound my brains out with the axe anymore. Still with the huge blocks it takes a ton of energy and I simply am not going to have the time to wrestle it. OMG, if I think about it I stress out! T is starting 3rd grade and I am homeschooling, Kat is starting pre-school- also homeschooling, plus T has to take extra as she is so advanced  which means I gotta learn French then teach her too! Plus a new baby, plus all the crap I am doing now  Plus my own college. I'm gonna go nuts. LOL!

And yep, the changing table is actually a very long wooden set of drawers, probably has about 6 big drawers and 3 smaller ones. Perfect, we use the top with a changing pad (non-skid) and then one drawer is fulled with diapers and wipes with the diaper pail right next to it, then I use the other drawers for onsies, body suits, etc. Just hoping to squeeze my jeans in there somewhere  lol!

AFM- wow, we had clouds today so I was able to work on the garage stuff from 9:30 to about 6 pm! Got tons done and sorted, now I get to focus on the inside organizing. I am going to throw so much stuff away :cloud9: lol! Ohhhh, I experienced bliss today...there is this crazy glass vase big enough for maybe two flowers, and it was antique glass so we always saved it but in 6 YEARS NEVER USED IT ONCE! Aaaargh! Yes, today I broke it and threw it away! :cloud9: I am trying to learn to just junk it. Most of my storage stuff has been packed and never used for at least, oh, 7 years or so. Time to junk it!

Oh and forgot to mention I found a nearly brand new pink walker at the second hand shop for only $10! So I got it. We had one but Kat tortured it to hell and back :haha: I used to call her "Cannonball" because of the ay she ran in it, she would actually pick it up and rtun like crazy just banging and bouncing off of everything! Anyway it didn't survive her :nope: so time for a new one :haha:

Congrats! A baby girl sounds awesome right now!
So happy for you!

So I went down for my ultrasound and bloodwork this morning and now I have 7 follicles! 4 on the left and 3 on the right! Where did the 3 on the right come from? On Wednesday there weren't any at all!
So now the biggest 2 are 16 and 12 and the rest are 9 and 10. My estrogen is 918 so it has doubled since Wednesday and my LH is not surging yet as it is only 7. I am to continue taking the Gonal F and Menopur and return on Monday for repeat ultrasound and blood work. I was so hopeful I'd get it done on the weekend but nope! Silly ovaries are on vacation!

Ali- what? :saywhat: No LH surge yet? What the-- doesn't your body understand you mean business?:growlmad: Tell it your friends are impatient for your bfp, lol! :haha: It will happen, kind of like watching a pot boil- the more we watch the longer it seems to take, right? So how did the interview go????? Or does that not happen til Monday?

AFM- you'll never guess what I did today! ....Nothing! :haha: Lol, one load of laundry is all....but it was a big load  of towles no less...so that makes it double hard :haha: Ah, my butt was tired, so I decided to rest it. I wish when I did that that I would plan it, you know, so I could look forward to it! Aw, I even took an impromptu nap! That's was so awesome, I'm going to do that agian soon  lol

I know! Come on ovaries time to stop  I want a baby :baby darnit! Enough :coffee: :haha: Actually I normally ovulate on CD 16-17 so I'm right on time. I had hoped that I would ovulate sooner than that, as the FS suggested that the injectibles make you O sooner. That wasn't the case with me. I do think that I'm getting closer, my CM changed from sticky, to watery to EWCM in the past 2 days. I did an OPK and it is still negative, which means I probably won't ovulate until Tuesday now as I typically have 2 days of positives and ovulate on the second day.

Interview was on Friday, and I think it went well, but it is hard to say what they are looking for and whether they feel I am the better candidate. I'm not sure when they are interviewing the other guy, maybe they already have? I'm not sure. I'll ask my boss tomorrow. It is going to be a busy day as I have to go down in the morning for more ultrasounds and blood work, and possible IUI, then be back in time for a conference call at 2pm with a client. BUSY BUSY!

Coy - I'm so glad that you took a day off and relaxed  You needed it I'm sure! I think you should schedule quiet time for mommy each day, just take 1-3 hours and indulge yourself. Maybe have a nice bath, or a cat nap, or curl up with a book.

I'm having a bit of a lazy day here, just doing laundry, and the doggies need baths. It is still cool, and cloudy, at least the rain has stopped for now. We may take the doggies over to the island and give them a run, but it does look like it might rain again, so maybe not?

 to you and all the others here! Hopefully you all come back to chat soon!

Wow, well if cm is changing that quicky then I agree you will probablyov right on time with your normal schedule  So then do you do the trigger? I would totally go over to the island....not sure what that's like in Cnada but I remember from Alaska! If the mosquitos aren't out then

Yep, needed a break for a day :) Today is another indoor. Just repeated loads of baby laundry  and I have a couple of school assignments. Other than that I am lazing :)

Sounds good! I just finished prepping tomorrow's dinner and doing laundry, and was about to take the doggies over to the island, and looked out and it was raining! ARGH! So it looks like the island is out at least for today. Maybe tomorrow after work I can go.

I would assume I will trigger on Monday, and probably do the IUI on Monday and then the second one on Tuesday. Normally people trigger then do the IUIs the following 2 days, but I bet my own ovulation will occur on Monday or maybe Tuesday on its own, so I don't want to miss the O like I have in the past. I guess it will all depend on the US and blood work! At least my CM is starting to change, that is good news! Now all we need is for the follicles to be nice and big! I would like to see 2-4 or them be at least 18mm when we trigger. That means that the 10mm ones need to grow to 18mm by Monday. I'm not sure that will happen. The 16 and 12 ones should grow that big, I hope! Only time will tell!

Good on you for relaxing again! You have to do what your body tells you and if its saying relax, then RELAX!!! :haha:

Coy - So glad you are taking some time to rest. You need it! :flower:

Ali - Fx'd for you. Can't wait to hear good news on Monday.

AFM I'm still :coffee: waiting for the big O. I'm feeling a little impatient, but know that I probably still have about 5 days before I do. I've been fighting a migrane today, and have a board meeting to attend in about an hour. Wish I could skip it...
My kids got home of Friday. :happydance: It was so good to see them. I don't think I ever want them gone for 6 weeks again. I missed them too much. But then, I also wouldn't want to deny their grandma time with them.
Well, I'd best go get ready for the meeting. Hopefully it will be a short one.

Twotogo- aw, there's no way I could not see my girls for 6 whole weeks! I woould go absolutley nutty! They drive me nutty anyway but in a good way  Got my fx'd for ov soon for you - do you monitor cm also? Or bbt?

Ali- hey, your sig says you are 1 dpo...is it off by a few days? Hurry up Monday! :growlmad: lol!

AFM- I am pooped with a capital "P" tonight. Not sure why. I did have to write a miserably long essay on the boring subject of corrections  and make it sound interesting :haha: ow, anyway, it took me half the day but thank GOD I am done with it now! lol! Ugh, ready for a nice shower and, something healthy to snak on (yes, ice cream counts :ice cream: ) lol...

Hm, I skipped the garage last couple days as I am just heartily sick of it. I have not got round to the closets however as laundry is kicking my butt! WOW there is a lot to do to prep for a new baby! Like I had forgotten or something  Anyways, I have been sorting baby clothes  and am making progress. Got sorted what I need for the first 6 months and am stopping there! I will continue when the time arrives! Today I caught up all the household laundry (what is UP with that? ) and finally got a start on baby stuff, did a huge load of baby blankets-- I found over 25 blankets in storage along with a ton of almost new burp cloths  Better not be without those! :haha: It is so funny when you have kids...My dh is usually so discliplined with his clothes, etc, because of the Marines. One day he was wearing an extremely expensive leather vest over his western gear and I pointed out that he had a huge burp-up stain and what looked like a booger on his shoulder. He stared at me for a momet then said "....And?" as though I'd lost my mind! Kids'll do that to ya....:haha:

I temp, use an opk, and monitor cm. Trying to do anything I can not to miss it.

:hi: Good morning everyone! I am back from my short vacation to the coast. It was FABULOUS! While we ALL caught at least one fish...my son caught the biggest one...He was very excited!

But, we were so busy the entire time and I did not even think about taking temps this weekend. I will be back on it tomorrow...

Ali...How are your follicles doing? Growing nice and big I hope?

Coy...how is your busy world doing?

Morning Everyone,

Coy - My cycle was a little longer this month, I'll have to adjust it, thanks for letting me know! So funny about your DH and the spit-up and boogers :haha: Must be nice having all the supplies you will need for the new baby already. I'd be starting from scratch, scary

Jess - Glad you had a fantastic weekend and did some fishing. Sounds like you had an awesome weekend, YAY!

AFM - went down to have my final US and blood work. My right ovary was hiding, so we don't really know what was on there. The left was nice and prominent. We saw a 22mm follicle on the left that appeared to be in the beginning stages of collapsing (releasing), but when I got back to the FS, my LH was only 15. Not enough to cause ovulation. So she gave me the trigger and we did the IUI right then and there. The sperm were in great shape, and I got to see them swimming about under the microscope. They seemed to be more active this month then last month, but I could be wrong. So cool to see the silver tadpoles! :haha: The plan is to do the next IUI at 3:45 tomorrow afternoon, which would be 30 hours after trigger. We are doing that in hopes that some of the other follicles catch up and go with the aid of the trigger. So who knows, maybe we'll see 2, but at least I have one nice follicle. Not sure that all the injections were worth it though as I only ended up with 1 follicle :growlmad: Oh well, I only need to have one right?

Hey eveyone, well, I'm back from my few days away on the South coast, Hubby was diving, so I was sat with the rest of the wives and girlfriends, gossiping and waiting for them to get out of the water, just to get them ready to go back in again.

I purposefully stayed out of the sun this weekend, but still managed to get sun burned. I don't help myself, If I remember to put sun cream on in the mornings, I forget to reapply it, but I just assume staying out of the sun will help.

Nothing is happening on the TTC side yet, going to start doing OPKs today, so another hour or so and I'll do my first one. I didn't temp this morning though as I haven't unpacked my thermometer yet, must go and do that now. I've taken a day off work today to sort out the weekend stuff.

Ali, I hope you had the trigger and first IUI today, let us know how it went. Hope you hear about your interview soon too, I hate the waiting for that too.

Coy, I'm glad you're relaxing more, sounds like you have a lot to do with home schooling and your own course too. I've been studying Accounting at Night School, but I've taken a year off this year. Don't think I can afford to do it next year either.

Alin, fingers crossed you managed to get your 'stores' stocked leading up to O. :dust:

Angel, same goes, fingers crossed for a :bfp: for you too. I know what you mean about not getting your hopes up, it takes over your life sometimes, doesn't it? :dust:

I had the trigger and IUI this morning, and will have the second IUI this afternoon. The :spermy: looked great, they were really moving around which was cool!
I had the interview on Friday, and I think it went well, but I guess time will tell as to whether I got the promotion or not. For some reason, I'm not feeling as confident today. Maybe I just don't want to get my hopes up?

Glad you got to have a relaxing weekend away, sounds like fun! Sorry about the sun burn though, that is never good. When out on the water it doesn't matter if you are out of the sun or not as the sun reflects from the water and gets you. I've learned that one the hard way! :haha:

My hCG shot is causing me to feel a little nauseous, wishing I had taken the day off to lie down.

We go through so much just to get a baby, don't we? Why is it people can get pregnant by accident? Its so not fair, there's so much planning that goes on. Well good luck for your 2nd IUI, I really hope it works for you and you get twins, one of each of course. xx
