Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hi ladies :hi:

Just popping in to see how you all are doing this afternoon! Well, for Terri it is probably late night...

Ali- your temps are on the rise I see  Are you on the progesterone this month or going to wait and see? I would say if you get your bfp def get on it, but talk to your doc first...how are you feeling? Hcg shot still making you sick? How long does that last? Oh- also, will the shot throw off a hpt?

Jess- how is training coming along? I am guessing Af has ended - are you going to opk this month?

Gncope- wow, when it rains it pours :nope: But so glad you are getting all this done...if it is something you need then I am glad you are doing it now! As Ali stated- ya got your frosties! :) And in no way will you be "too old" to do this the absolute natural way either, even if you have to wait a year.

Terri- how are you?

GeorgiaBelle- haven't heard from you in a bit- you are MIA!

Phil- you are MIA too :growlmad: lol, how are you feeling?

AFM- So tired again today. I am trying to figure if it is the hird tri doing this to me or if it is my crappy sleep habits? I end up going to bed about 2330 or dead on midnight and get up at 8- so technically 8 hours but those are interupted with the bathroom trips at least 3 times, checking on the girls 3 or more times, and Kat wakes me at least once  So probably more like 5-6 hours with no REM at all :nope: lol!

Today I have been budgeting  Now I am getting ready to destroy another closet! (I had ice cream though :shhh: so I feel pretty good :haha:) lol!

Yes, where is everyone? I miss the updates from all of you ladies!!

Coy - could be the 3rd trimester that is getting to you, I'm not sure! I've never been in the 3rd trimester!! :haha: I guess you should try to get more sleep, if at all possible? Naps! Yes, you need to take a nap!

AFM - yes, the hCG does throw off the HPT, I took one yesterday and it was positive. Probably will be for another 3-5 days until it wears off. My FF is all messed up, it thinks I ovulated on Sunday but I didn't surge until Mon/Tues. So I don't know whether I should force it to show the right ovulation day or not? I think I'll just wait to see what happens the next few days with my temps. I have not started taking progesterone since my level last month was so good. If I am pregnant, that is one of the things that we will discuss at that time. I'm worried that if I start taking the progesterone now, that I may have to continue taking it throughout my cycle as we won't know if mine on my own is enough? You know? So now I just wait and wait and wait! UGH.. I hate the 2WW! I was a little nauseous earlier today, but it is getting better with each day.

 to all of you!!!

I guess this a more appropriate forum for me. I'm 36, turning 37 in Nov. This was out 1st ttc cycle and at 6dpo I started cramping all the way until 11dpo when I spotted dark brown, then cramps came back, with lower back pain almost like spasms, then at 13dpo I started with waves of nausea that made me feel like I was going to puke. Well today was 14dpo and AF was due as it was a 28dc and it started this afternoon. I'm absolutely gutted. I have never experienced these symptoms individually let alone all together...cramping for 8 days before AF and it wasn't like AF cramps, it was more like pinching and twisting. So I'm confused if maybe I had IB and it just didn't take? I poas and got BFNs. Now we are AF day 1 and bought a opk and basal thermo to hopefully be more certain if/when I ovu. Any suggestions/advice would be warmly welcome. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism this Fall and have been on medication and testing well within the range I should be in. My obgyn has suggested 2 more cycles of smartly trying and then he'll suggest a fertility endocrinologist. Thanks for your support ladies, I wish you all the BFPs you long for!

Yep! You have come to the right place! I'm so sorry that this month didn't take, it is really hard, I know. Sounds like you are doing everything you can at the moment, temping, and OPKs should help you pinpoint your ovulation and then make sure you do lots of BD'ing around that time! Fingers crossed for next month! :dust:

Thanks Alicatt. BDing is the best news for the hubbs, he's excited to try again in earnest. I'm hoping to get a BFP next month. Thanks for your support! :hugs:

Babywhisperer- Hi! :hi: This is an excellent thread I am so glad to have you on board! Hyperthyroidism is fairly common and I have heard of many ladies getting their bfp's with it--since you are within your normal range sounds like you are good to go! I am glad you have a good doctor  I agree with Ali- sounds like you are doing everything right!

Ali- I agree with you on the progesterone. Once the placenta is formed (around week 11-12 or so) it t akes over and pumps out the P4 (? P4 isprogesterone, right?) The only reason I took it was because of my MC in November. I theorized to myself that perhaps my corpus luteum had failed too early  but it is impossible to know for certain. At this point you are perfect! And no need whatsoever to worry :hugs: I am eager for your bfp also! Then we can be bump buddies...for a few weeks :haha:

Where's our Jess? She must be working too hard again :growlmad: but we miss her! :sad1: lol

Today I didn't get much done but run errands for everyone :nope: So I went for a long power walk this afternoon. I have convinced myself to push it and work hard wether I feel like it or not (for the most part anyway) otherwise I'm just gonna get soft and lazy and nothing done :haha: I am gonna try to catch a nap once in a while though!

Thank you Grey Eyes. Congrats on you impending new addition. I'm excited to learn from all of you. I got married this past Dec and have waited until I met the love of my life to have a child, so I'm desperately hoping it happens soon. Thanks for your support. :hugs:

You'll never guess what happened :growlmad: There I was out walking, right? Minding my own business, right? One of my older neighbor ladies from down the street approaches me and grabs my arm and sneers "You're husband is disabled! Doesn't he know he's supposed to STOP HAVING BABIES now that he is disabled?!" And she flung my arm down and stomped back to her house.

I was going to get angry. Then I just decided the poor old lady probably isn't getting any.

IYKWIM. (lol)

OMG Coy, I can't believe what some people are like, not that its any of her business, but what stops someone having a baby, just because there is something about them that doesn't necessarily work the way it should. You can be classed as disabled because you've lost the use of a leg, that doesn't stop you being able to be a fantastic parent, besides, does that mean your Hubby can't be a father to the children you already have? Aargh!!! Some people make me so mad.

Anyhoo, I'm glad you managed to not say anything as she probably just wanted a reaction from you. You did well not to say anything, I think I would have bitten her head off!

Ali, I am so hopeful for you this time, we're all on this journey with you, so its our TWW with you. :hugs:

Its been quiet on here the last few days, Alin, I see you have definitely classed this as AF then, sorry about that, I was so hopeful for you too. :dust: for the next one.

Where is everyone else?

I'm still waiting to O at the moment, started doing OPKs a couple of days ago. One type showed a slight second line yesterday, so I did the Clear Blue one, which still showed as negative, so will try again today. Nothing else to report.

Got an 'afternoon tea' at work today, so have had to go into the office. I've worked for the company for 10 years as a permenant employee (after doing 1 year as a Temp), so I have an award presentation this afternoon. How exciting. They give a gift for these awards and there was nothing exciting to choose, so I went for a set of kitchen knives. Only thing is that they have a company logo on them, but hey ho, it was better than a necklace with the logo!

Hope everyone is ok, waiting to hear more about your TTC trials.

Tracey. xx

Hi ladies :hi:, I've been reading and keeping up.

Alin, sorry AF got ya, next month babes. Hope you can get somewhere with the GP, like Ali says there is no harm in finding out.

Coy, I can't believe how bold your neighbours are! People where I live wouldnt have the nerve to so such a thing.

Ali, fingers crossed for you, I'd give it another couple of days and then adjust FF if you are sure. I'll pop on and check your chart for a nosey :winkwink:

Jess, where are ya?

Hi Terri Lou!

GNCope, :hugs:how are you feeling? What's the latest prognosis now?

Babywhisperer, welcome. This TTC journey can do strange things! If you got BFNs I would very much doubt you had a chemical or early loss. I have a LONG story but I have one son inbetween 5MC, that after 6 years of not being able to get pregnant at all. I do believe my mind played a big part in how my body acted and you will hear it time and time again but relaxing is the best remedy. Your body has maybe picked up on some signals, or has just maybe decided to annoy you! Yhat's fab you can get help after 3 cycles, it's at least 6 months here for 35+, although I'm in a different boat and attending specialists as suffer from RMCs. GL:flower:

Ali, had a nosey at your chary, if you go by temps you ovulated probably on the Monday or Tuesday. I dont understand FF sometimes as on one of my cycles it showed ovulation on my dip day, the rest on the first day the temps rose. Any experts out there? Even when I tried the FF fun test they were all over the place. I know you're meant to take in all symptoms so this is probably my error.

I'm thinking you got your positive OPK Monday morning sometime? If so, it looks as if you ovulated very quickly, at some stage that day so I'd go Monday or Tues.

Thanks for the insight and helpful advice, and so sorry for your losses. My body does a stellar job of driving me nuts. My obgyn is at NYU and a hi risk specialist...and I was ref to him by a close family friend who is also an obgyn and my dr delivered our friend's daughters 3 kids...so he will be proactive with me. Between my age, thyroid, and some other health issues I hope this isn't a long and painful journey. FX'd for all of us!!

Yep, FF is silly sometimes. I had 2 rises one that started on Monday and then another one that started on Wednesday. I think FF just thought the first rise was my O, but it is clear now that the second one was my O. It was kind of hard to pinpoint my O this month between the injectibles and the trigger, and my O pain that I had on Monday afternoon on both ovaries and on Tuesday afternoon on the right. So I'm wondering if I ovulated multiple times? Potentially 3 eggs or more? Since the ultrasound on Monday was difficult to read, I had a 22mm on my left with a 12, 10 and 9, then on the right we could barely see it at all, but she thought she saw a 12 there too. The trigger is supposed to get you to ovulate 36 hours after it is given, which would have been Tuesday around 9pm. Apparently it will help mature any borderline (the 12mm follicles) and then push them out in the 24-48 hour period. The 22mm follicle we saw on Monday morning was already collapsing, which meant it was already in the process of ovulation. So I think I ovulated both Monday and Tuesday! I guess time will tell!

I'm officially 3DPO today now that FF has made up its mind! I have really bad reflux and my lower back is super sore too. Gotta love the 2ww!

Hi Ladies :hi:

As you can see from my previous comment, I am officially in the 2WW, and FF finally agrees with what I think happened. It was a confusing Ovulation and 2 IUIs. I just hope our timing was good and that I ended up ovulating multiple eggs! I would love to see the IB, as this would be very telling. I guess that will happen in another 3-5 days if it will happen at all.

I have to pack up and clean the cottage this morning, and then I'll be on the road driving south back to Florida. I hope I make it sometime tomorrow, as that would give me Sunday to get a few errands done, particularly food in the house! So I will be a little out of touch the next few days. Rest assured I will be back once I get home to sunny Florida.

I hope that all of you wonderful ladies have a great weekend, keep temping and BD'ing :) :haha:

Ali

Hi Ladies! :hi:
Sorry I haven't been on lately. Life got really crazy really quick! I am hoping things slow down next week. I'm also hoping that by next week I'll be in the tww. Funny how O always happens when life gets nutty and then there's not really any time for :sex: . Fortunately, we are finding a few minutes here and there to fit it in.

Today I plan on canning 50 pounds of fruit and trying to fix my washing machine that took out on me Wednesday. I think the lid switch is broken, and my dad assures me that I can bypass the switch and get it to work. I hope so. I can't afford to go to the laundry mat again! It would take $50 a week to do laundry if I did it at the laundry mat.

I will try to catch up with everyone and post more later. Right now I need to get ready for a wedding rehearsal. Well, maybe.... got a text yesterday that the bride wants to post pone the wedding. Um the wedding is tomorrow... hoping it's just a case of nerves. We shall see.

Nothing happening for me at the moment, still just sitting waiting for the 'Ov'.

Ali, safe journey home, look forward to hearing from you when you get back and have done all your cleaning, shopping etc. xx

Ali- drive safe and look forward to chatting with you when you're back in FL

Jess- where are you? :sad1:

Its very quiet on here again, where are you all?

I did my OPK today, the cassette one I do, shows a slight second line, but the digi still says :nope:, but as one is showing as slight, I think its time to start getting 'friendly', make sure we're covered eh?

I am so glad its the weekend now, finished work 2 hours ago and I feel ready for bed already, its only 6.30 here. The weather has been quite miserable the last couple of days, so that makes me feel yucky. I do have something to look forward to though, I'll be going away again Wednesday and Thursday next week doing some diving. I know you're not meant to do it while TTC or pregnant, but its in a shallow quarry, so we won't be going deep at all, just going to take it easy as it'll be my first open water dives in the UK. At least there won't be any tides or anything to deal with, like Hubby had last weekend, he's a lot more advanced that me, I've done 8 dives to his 84!

Well, Hubby has just come home from work, so I'm going to go and spend a bit of time with him, make him a stir fry as he's really into them at the moment.

Speak soon ladies.

:dust:

Tracey- the stir fry sounds awesome! ot any really good recipes?

Diving also sounds like tons of fun! My dh is advanced too and I can't even swim yet :nope: lol! MEN!

Fx'd for ov soon  Sounds like you're getting close :)
