Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Tracy - thanks! I really do hope this is my month. I think I said that last month and the month before. I really really need it to be this month! I would take any happy and healthy baby, but yes I would love twins! :haha::pink::blue::oneofeach:

Alin - maybe your :bfp: will come tomorrow!! Let's hope and pray!

AFM - feeling super queasy now, have been since about 3 hours after the hCG shot. UGH. Also feeling like my right ovary is ovulating, or doing something, I hope the follicles are growing and there will be another follicle to ovulate in the next 36 hours!
I didn't get the PM position :nope: They decided that they wanted someone with 3+ years experience as a PM instead. I don't have that experience. Since the role is a new position, and has to be defined by the new person, they felt that getting someone with the experience was better than someone that needed to learn on the fly. I get it, but I'm still sad  On a brighter note, he said that I interviewed really well, and that as we expand further and have 2 PMs that I would be a shoe-in for the next one. Or perhaps a PM in a different department. So that is all good. It might be good for me to try to tackle one big change at a time, ie. get pregnant first, then tackle a new position. So maybe this is for the best in the long run!

OK, so I just listened to my VM and there was a message from Donna, the FS, and she said my E2 was 2275! OMG. That is super high. I hope I don't get OHSS (the same thing gncope got). Where your abdomen fills up with fluid and all that. I'm surprised they are doing the IUI with a level that high. Then again, she didn't have the results of the test until AFTER she had triggered me and we'd done 1 IUI. It skyrocketed between Saturday and Monday, from 918 to 2275. GEESH! I am definitely a late bloomer! I wonder how many follicles will actually release? We only saw 1 good one today, but couldn't see the right ovary as it was hiding in my bowels  So your guess is as good as mine, but I doubt that a E2 level of 2275 could have been produced by 1 single mature follicle!

Wow, Ali, what happens when your estrogen is so high- what caused it? Is your doc concerned? Too late now! :haha: This def means bfp  Stress is one factor that you need to achieve bfp I am convinced! :haha: No seriously- don't worry, just talk to your doc if you are concerned. Sorry you didn't get the PM job but maybe for the best as that would add new stress initially and its prob best if you give yourself some relax time....Which reminds me- take it easy with the nausea, HCG does bring it on!

AFM- today I got the baby's changing pads all set up, drawers freshly lined and filled with newborn diapers, wipes, diaper rash creme, newborn onsies, body suits, and blankets  The last load of clothes (or at least the latest load ) is still drying....I feel a bit more prepared now, just gotta buy maternity pads and get my suitcase set up. Dh talked to our guy about winter wood and we should be getting a couple cords this weekend  Won't want to worry about that too late in pregnancy so happy it is happening soon. Dh said he absolutley will not allow me to work any wood until after babes is brorn and I heal :growlmad: But he is right, I will be very careful.

And today I managed to take the girls on an outing, took them to the library, they had a ton of fun, then made them hamburgers and fries for dinner. Teagen had one, dh had two and Kat (my 3 year old) had three! That little girl must be growing or something! She can out-eat me! :haha: Then it was bath time, I read them Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs and they passed out...Now I'm gonna eat and go to bed

Jess- :hi: Glad you had a good time and got some fun in! :hugs: What cd are you now?

Hi Alin,

Did you mean you go another bfn this morning? I notice your chart has you back on cd1 again. You put light bleeding, is it bleeding or more like spotting? It could well be implantation, if I were you, I would change the bleed to spotting on FF and wait to see what happens. 11dpo is a good time for implantation. FX for you. xx

I agree with Tracey!

I'm assuming the injectibles caused it. Normally an estrogen level that high means you had a lot of mature follicles, that is why I'm so confused, since I didn't have that many mature follicles. A follicle needs to be 18mm to be mature, or so I thought, but I have read from IVF patients that they have had healthy eggs retrieved from 12mm-17mm follicles. So I may have more than 1 mature. A lot of FS cancel IUIs due to high estrogen because of the risks of OHSS and/or high order multiple births.

Alin- I agree with Tracy, it could be implantation bleed. Do you normally get Af around 12 dpo?

Ali- “So I may have more than 1 mature.” Oooooooo….could be twiis acomin’! :haha: Serves you right for wanting a bfp you may get more than one  Seriously though what a blessing THAT would be! 2 at once, can’t beat that! I always wanted a try at twins but- nope, not this time round :haha: Dh says I’m too small…which, that challenge automatically enraptures my attention

Jess- how are you feeling? Gonna go take a look at your chart and see if you are temping yet. Oh, btw, just quick fitness question. I am considering starting running after the baby is born (after healing of course when weather permits) and I am wondering what distance you would recommend. I mentioned it to dh this morning and he hemmed and hawed something about fitness and youth and MAN did that enrage my competitive self! :growlmad: I am sure he didn’t mean anything by it but I am challenged to prove “it” wrong :haha: Anyway I have heard it is great for cardio but I have always hated getting stitches!:nope: Trying to understand how to pace my body so I don’t get stitches. I used to do tons of cross country skiing and loved the cardio aspect of it. Oh, also, what do you think of the Atkins shakes? I got dh some as the sugar is only 1 gram and protein popped up at 14 grams per serving. Hmm… LOL I’d keep you on here answering questions all day  Anywhoooooo……Oh, that’s what brought it on, my dh’s doctor warned that running upsets a womans natural AF cycle and I was trying to ecide if its from stripping too much fat? Cause you seem to have a normal cycle…

I know, I'm probably asking for trouble! I guess only time will tell whether I end up with multiples or a single or maybe nothing at all. I do think that twins would be awesome!

Good idea getting a plan in place for after the baby. I think I would start with walking the baby, I see lots of mom's walking off the baby weight and getting the baby out for fresh air. Once you are ready to do more, and your Dr clears you for it, then you could start running. I have heard really great things about this plan: https://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml It gets you from couch potato (me) to being able to run a 5 K. Maybe Jess has more to offer, but I thought you could take a look at this in the meantime!

I am hoping that I am pregnant, and when I'm recovering I plan on re-starting my 24hourfitness membership (its only $199 a year) and get back into shape myself. They even have a baby sitting/tots play area so you can get your workout done AND take your baby with you!!

It's light but red thought implantation was brown or pink I normally get af cd 26 giving me a 25 day cycle so bleeding 13dpo,so af 1 day early

AWW.. I'm sorry Alin  I am not sure about implantation bleeding as I have never been pregnant.

Alin- I'm sorry...Nasty :witch: anyway! :growlmad: Are you planning on trying anything different next cycle? Have you tried preseed or anything to improve your chances? I never tried it but have heard awesome reports about it

Ali- thank you for the site I'll browse around it. I love getting new insites and trying new stuff! :) I will walk the baby as we have an awesome stroller but it will be January :nope: so will be a few months before I can take babes out in it. January in Idaho is waaaay dif than FL :haha: In fact back in the 90's I was in FL during January...cooked my btt off in the day and froze it at night! lol

Oooo, I got my fx'd for you Ali! Did you do the second IUI yet? Did I miss that post? I am super excited for you, I hope you get a huge :bfp: this month  All odds are for you !!!

Jess- where you at?

Oh yeah, AFM- :haha: I almost forgot me :haha:  Today I was miserable and exhausted  I am not sure if babes has shifted the other direction or what but my lower tummy pelvic region feels like it's going to split apart and she keeps kicking the hell oughtta me! :growlmad: I mean HARD too! She's super strong :cloud9: She is either doing jumping jax in there or break-dancing :haha: Anyway, I am sure feeling it. Super uncomfortable and pretty painful kicks, naughty child.

Other than that I did the usual laundry stuff, went and bought some maternity pads , packed baby diapers, onsies, body suits, baby blanket and my robe, and a bunch of crisp one dollar bills so dh can run cold coke from the machines for me :haha: Obviously I am referring to my suitcase for the hospital. Got a few weeks yet but as one was late and one was early I want to be ready!

Hey ladies it's been a while. I am back in the hospital! Wow this has been a rough few months. This time I have pulmonary embolism aka major multiple blood clots on my lungs. Yesterday they told me I would be in the hospital anywhere from a week to month. That is just crazy talk! We're not sure what caused this. I'm sure combination from everything I've been going through. The hardest part for me is even if I get out in the next week they tell me I will have another 6 to 12 months of treatment. The blood thinners and medication I'm on are really harmful if I get pregnant so that definitely puts a damper on things. I am so discouraged. I don't even know what to do what to think The hard part is while hubby is working I'm completely alone in the hospital all day thinking about everything. We have come so far and been through so much and to get so close… now we have to wait maybe a year before we can even try anything.
I'm really excited for you ladies and hope that everything works out for you. Best of luck and baby dust.

coy no never tried preseed just temps, cbfm and opks dont know whether to try soy again this month as not used last 2 months, mikey is 21 months so with track record we are due to fall when he is2 which is november time but hope happens before, was thinking of seeing dr to see if can find out about my egg quality whatever they call it but worried about feedback from them because im 42 with 5 children already.

Hey Alin,

You could definitely go in and have the test. It checks your ovarian reserve, and is called AMH (anti-merulian (sp) hormone). They can also test your blood on day 3 of your cycle and it will tell you a lot as well.

YIKES! That sounds serious! I hope you recover quickly and are back to normal soon. Look on the bright side, you have your frosties, and when you are better and off the meds, you can implant them! Right now I would focus on getting better!

OUCH! Silly girl, sounds like she is quite the wild one :haha: Hopefully she becomes a star soccer player or something. TEEHEE.
Glad you are getting all set for the rush to the hospital, and making sure you have everything you need. Glad you liked the article, if you scroll down there is a chart with a program to get you up and running. Friends have done it before, and say it works!

Hey All,

I really don't know when I ovulated this month. I may have ovulated 3 times? So confused! Plus FF thinks I ovulated on Sunday because of my temp rise, but that is not the case. We looked at my ovaries on Monday and I still had follicles there. Plus my LH hadn't risen. So I don't know what is going on with my temps, but I'm not seeing my O on my chart. Maybe because I possibly ovulated multiple times? Wouldn't that be the kicker! :haha:
We did the trigger shot on Monday, along with an IUI, then we did another IUI yesterday afternoon about 30 hours after the trigger. So hopefully we caught all the O's as I felt like I ovulated Monday afternoon around 3ish and again Tuesday around 3ish.
Since I don't know how to count my O's, I think I'll have to count my IUIs instead. So I'm 2DPIUI (from the first one). I may have to override the O day on FF, if it doesn't smarten up!:haha:
