Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Phil- oh ouch- please don't refer to it as "pulling the plug" because there is an actual plug in there! lol! haha you made me laugh at that one :hugs: Fx'd it all goes smoothly...with the GD will they still let you do home birth?

Babywhisperer- nope, no friends in town :nope: lol! I AM a sad case aren't I? Nope, just dh and I....everyone here pretty much hates us, one- he's Oglala Lakota (half) and two- neither of us are locals...yeah, it just gets worse form there. If God let's us we are going to move asap! But I do arry recorders and have a video on at all times.

Uh, he's more American than any of your neighbors!! They were here first! I'm sorry you have to live in a hostile environment. I hope you do move before dd's understand and experience the negativity...what a way to lose your innocence and faith in humanity, but to be targeted for race. I bet these people have never left their state let alone the country. Travel breeds acceptance through experience. The towns people need to broaden their horizons from the homogenous vanilla bubble they are in. Ok soapbox is away. It just gets me angry. I wish I could help :hugs:

Afm, guess what? No second smiley today! I don't know what that means. Maybe I would have gotten it if I tested later 2 nights ago. What I DO know is HOLY OVULATION PAIN!! I know we need to bd again tonight, but ouchy the pinching. Does the cramping/pinching mean I've ovulated or are about to? Oh it aches. And he is another weird thing besides only 1 smiley...I'm getting cramping on my left side! I either fell it on my right or not at all. I think I feel it on my left 1-2 times a year. What gives? Still no call back from the FS so I am calling them tomorrow. Should I just ask for a cd3 appt and set up a time when I think that will be?

You know I started with dull cramps last night and bd kind of hurt, I'm wondering if I missed the eggy.

You know, that was the first time I had actually done the calculations. I had thought in my head, well if we do the ER/ET in early Dec, I should know by Christmas right? So that is all I knew. Well now I know for sure!

I feel a lot less stressed out now that I have the donor selected, and that was the last hurdle. Now if I can only get my stupid re-fi loan processor on the ball so we can close before Dec 1. I just sent her an email saying that it has to be completed by then or I'm pulling my application. :gun: The last thing I need is to have to get all this documentation for her during the IVF cycle. Each month it drags on I have to give her all the new docs, bank statements, and pay stubs, and whatever else she needs, then they run my credit and it drops because of the activity. I swear, I got the statement in the mail today, it was in the 820s in May, and its now in the 780s all because they keep dinging it :growlmad:

BabyWhisperer - ooh you are ovulating on your non-dominant side! That is exciting. OK so a little known fact.. most women have a dominant ovary, and most months they ovulate from that side. I have heard that most women ovulate from the right, and only occasionally from the left. Or maybe it is the opposite? Regardless, I always assumed that they alternated back and forth each month. That is not the case, and I'm amazed that I never knew that before, or that most women don't know that. Strange  Anyway, it usually hurts more when you ovulate from your non-dominant side, because it doesn't do it that often. Get some more BD'ing in if you can. Take some ibuprophen or tylenol but get that BD'ing in! I think you are O'ing right now! :sex: I think the pain is actually caused by the fluid in the follicle as it releases, it can cause the cramping because the fluid is being released into your abdominal cavity, but it is somewhat of a foreign object hence the pain. It will get absorbed and all will be well, but I 'think' that is what causes the pain. That and the actual rupture.
Hypothetically, what if your right tube is blocked, and since that is your dominant side all these months you've been trying but the egg and sperm haven't connected. Now that you are ovulating from the left, you might find that this is the month!

As for getting your appointment with the FS, I got my appt for whever they would take me, then he gave me an Rx to take to my lab of choice with the list of tests he wanted done, and just said, on day 3 of your cycle take this in and have the blood drawn. I was to call his office the day I got my period as well, and then they would schedule the follow up visit for 7+ days after day 3 (that is how long the AMH takes to get back assuming you use LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics for your lab). That is how my FS dealt with things, but each one is different I'm sure. I think the most important thing is for you to get your foot in the door, and become a patient. Once they have you on their books, it is way easier to get in to get things done!

Now back to your tubes.. that was just a hypothetical.. but it could explain why you aren't getting pregnant, and it would be an easy fix! Just go get a hysterosonogram (sp) and have them clear out the cobwebs, that unblocks the majority of tubes, and as I have said in the past, clears the cobwebs out of the tubes making it way easier for the sperm to find the egg!

Great advice Ali thank you. I decided to do another opk and I got my we one smiley. We bd'd just in case I haven't ovu yet. As far as a hysterosonogram I think I had one last Jan to see if I had a uterine polyp which I did. It was just saline not dye though. I'm going to heed your advice and call the FS tomorrow.

I'm exhausted. Going to sleep as I am so out of it.

Get some rest  Get an appt if you can, and have some morning :sex: if you can squeeze it in :) I think this month sounds really promising and if you are still getting a smileyface then you still have a chance. I'm really excited for this month!

Coy, nope, they won't let me have a home birth anymore... once I had to go to insulin at all, it has to be a hospital birth.....
of course, I could just labour at home as long as possible before letting them talk me into actually 'going' to the hospital!! *grin*
The biggest issue is that my blood sugars need to be monitored to make sure they aren't too high or too low.... *sigh*

I think your neighbors should all just go jump off a cliff!

I think your neighbors should all just go jump off a cliff!

Love that! Neighbors.. go jump off a cliff! :haha:

Morning favorite BnB ladies!

I think Lupron and I are starting to get a long a little better. I didn't have the anxiety I have had the past few nights after taking it. Before it was like a jolt of adrenaline right to my heart. Last night I was much more zen, and didn't have trouble sleeping at all. I wonder if it was the combination of the Lupron and my BCP? Yep, no more BCP! YAYAYAY! I also have some sort of period going on. It isn't super high flow, but I'm happy to be ridding myself of this crappy lining. I want a fresh one for babes to inhabit.

What is odd is that even after going GF, and staying away from baked goods, mostly eating rice, fruit and veggies, my weight has gone up 4-5 lbs the past 2 weeks. Why? Lupron makes you gain weight, and I was also feeling quite bloated from my cycle in general. I wonder if it will go away now that I have my period? I hope so! I am not happy with the excess weight I suddenly have. I know I will gain some during my cycle, especially around ER, but I was hoping that I would not have any additional weight too! AHHHHH.

Oh, and I seem to be getting strange hives, mostly on my fingers and thighs. Not a lot, but one at a time? No idea what that is all about either.

Not much else going on here, just another day in Florida, working from home in my comfy clothes.

I just got the call. We have 3 frozen embryos! Yay!

Not a bad cycle for IUI conversion :happydance:

:hi: everyone!

Question...I wonder if the HSG could somehow delay AF...

I am 14DPO and I have no spotting or anything. Technically I am not supposed to start AF until the 19th of November...But normally I have spotting a few days before AF starts. Unless FF is off on my ovulation day...hmmm... I just don't know...
Oh how I wish I had used an OPK this cycle...

Not sure what to make of the hives.... but as for the weight... I wouldn't worry about it too much, because I'm sure it's medication related and not 'real' weight gain.... still sucks to see it on the scale, though! I'm sure it's not going to stick around!!

I'm trying to remember if my period was delayed after my HSG.... I don't think it was... SO this might be a GOOD thing?? I do remember my O day was delayed on the clomid, but I don't think the HSG effected my cycle at all..... squee!!!! Here's hoping Jess!!!!

AFM- My day has me feeling in a good mood, even though I didn't sleep well last night at all!! I'm watching Live! with Kelly and Michael and I have to say, I could watch him jump over and over after he had those fake snakes thrown on him!! If I was going to have a dinner party with celebs, Michael would definitely be on the guest list.... I find him totally hilarious and sweet.... *sigh* (can we say someone has a little, innocent crush?)

So my doula is coming to my house on Saturday to give my mom and I, a labour and delivery class. She's going to be here the whole day going over all sorts of things. It's been 16 years since I was last in this position so I figured a refresher was in order! My mom came in at the last minute last time, so she's looking forward to being more prepared this time. Also, this gives my mom a chance to get to know the doula I've chosen so she's more comfortable when the time comes, too.

I've also signed up for a Birth and Baby class through the health services here, which my daughter and I will go to together. It's a 10 week class that starts at the end of this month and goes until a few weeks after baby arrives. The first half (roughly) will cover the labour and delivery basics, and the second half becomes like a baby class where you bring your baby and go over things like how to get them to sleep etc.... any troubles you have, stresses can be dealt with yada, yada, yada..... I figure it will be a great resource for me to have and fabulous for my daughter and I to do together!

So on my list of To Do today is to tidy up my main floor and finish decorating for Christmas! (fun!)
Move a few things around in the living room (what I can't do on my own, can wait until DD gets home from school)
Put up a couple of corner shelves for some special plants I want in my living room, and finish putting up the shelves in the baby's room.
Then, I want to finish going through all the clothes in my bedroom, getting rid of more things and clearing the piles on the floor and the pile of 'clean' clothes on my bed, so I can flip my futon mattress (might need DD for that too!) and put a new memory foam mattress cover on (Babes is making sleeping difficult on my hips lately!).....
Then I want to wash all my hard floors (Kitchen, entranceway, bathrooms) and then HAVE A NAP!!

that's my day in a nutshell..... How are all my BnB ladies doing today?? Anyone need a little sunshine boost today? I have plenty to spread around! Sending good thoughts to each and every one of you today!!

phil.

WOW! That is an ambitious day! No doubt you'll need a nap. This must be the nesting thing that happens when ladies are pregnant. Glad you are in a great mood!

I am too despite the hives. I did call the Dr and am waiting on a call back. I want to know if I should be taking benadryl and whether I should continue taking the Lupron. I feel like I have the chicken pox! No sooner does one hive stop itching then 1-2 others pop up! ARGH.

:hi: everyone!

Oh how I wish I had used an OPK this cycle...

I do not recall my HSG delaying things at all. If you are 14DPO, I think you need to do what Coy always says... :test: OMG This is exciting!

Ali- if Lupron "makes you gain weight" then I would guess it is water weight, so no worries in that department! it will come off as soon as you get off the Lupron I am thinking. As far as the hives...Hmm..I'd talk to my FS about that, it may be some reaction to the Lupron. Often different makers of the drug will use slightly different combinations, preservatives, etc, that you may have an allergy to. Also, YAY! for working from home! :happydance:

FirstTry- Yay! 3 frozen embryo's is awesome! You are right- not bad for an IUI conversion :hugs: Not bad period, we don't always have the option of freezing any let alone 3! That is awesome news! How's your dh taking it all? Is he excited?

Jess- nope, I wouldn't think HSG would delay anything...I mean, what's up there is up there iykwim? The lining has to come out if you're not using it, so...I can't imagine flushing your tubes would have anything to do with your uterus  Oooohhh you know what I am thinking? Uh-huh! :haha: But I'm not going to say it...yet :haha: Btw your cycles sound very much like my own...every 28 days on the dot with spotting 2-4 days before, 2 days of flow (if that) and 2-3 days of spotting afterward. I am thinking you should do what Ali said Coy would suggest and, um, :test: :haha: :rofl:I am going to check out your chart.....

Phil- well if they don't let you labor at home will you get to keep your doula and mw? Sounds like you are having fun with your Christmas decorating! As soon as Thanksgiving is over I am ON IT! :haha: My dh is the very traditional sort you know....clear lights on the tree, always talking minimal outside...I am thinking definitely going multi-color on the tree this year! We always did when I was a kid and the girls have never had that. So, with our new arrival Idef think some color is on our horizon!

AFM- :hi: What a night! The last 2 nights Kat has decided to start her stuff again, waking me every 30 minutes or so. I am taking a different bent with it this time round and not tolerating it at all. As soon as I ascertain there are no bad dreams or itchy's or hurts anywhere--mean mad mama appears! :growlmad: After 4 times in less than an hour last night I left it up to Papa though...He dealt with her twice and she decided to stay in bed! :haha: Aeryn is awesome though, letting me sleep several hours ata time  T is on a new antibiotic for this crazy throat infection- I hope this one does the trick  Poor kid :nope: Today- some school, pack some wood, chill out...

Ohh! And I am excited! It didn't take much talking at all to convince dh to just leave my car outside in the yard this winter :haha: I told him I want to pull out my weight bars, my exercise unit ( a big machine with weights, etc) and put up the big bunching bag for boxing  He jumped on the idea and told me he would get a car cover and leave it at that! :haha: Great news, means we don't have to clean in the garage anymore or throw anything else away lol, and I get my mini-gym :happydance:

Babywhisperer
- :hi: :hugs: How are yo u doing?

Babydust
- where are you? Hope you are all doing okay!

Angel-

Terri- you are MIA lady what's up? Hope you are okay  I'm gonna stalk your chart some more! :hugs:

TwoToGo- keep us posted! :hugs: You are a tough lady!

Thank you, ladies!

Coy: DH and my MIL (the only person we're telling about this stuff) are very excited about both Blasty and our 3 frosties.

Jess: 14dpo and you haven't tested? :test: On the other hand, why would AF not be due until 11/19? Is your luteal phase normally 18 days long? You might not know the answer if you haven't been temping for several months. Good luck!

One other note. I just looked at your chart. You should only take EPO from day 1 to ovulation.

My cycle is 28 days long...but FF says I ovulated early (on CD11). The 19th would be day 29.
