Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- if Lupron "makes you gain weight" then I would guess it is water weight, so no worries in that department! it will come off as soon as you get off the Lupron I am thinking. As far as the hives...Hmm..I'd talk to my FS about that, it may be some reaction to the Lupron. Often different makers of the drug will use slightly different combinations, preservatives, etc, that you may have an allergy to. Also, YAY! for working from home! :happydance:

FirstTry- Yay! 3 frozen embryo's is awesome! You are right- not bad for an IUI conversion :hugs: Not bad period, we don't always have the option of freezing any let alone 3! That is awesome news! How's your dh taking it all? Is he excited?

Jess- nope, I wouldn't think HSG would delay anything...I mean, what's up there is up there iykwim? The lining has to come out if you're not using it, so...I can't imagine flushing your tubes would have anything to do with your uterus  Oooohhh you know what I am thinking? Uh-huh! :haha: But I'm not going to say it...yet :haha: Btw your cycles sound very much like my own...every 28 days on the dot with spotting 2-4 days before, 2 days of flow (if that) and 2-3 days of spotting afterward. I am thinking you should do what Ali said Coy would suggest and, um, :test: :haha: :rofl:I am going to check out your chart.....

Phil- well if they don't let you labor at home will you get to keep your doula and mw? Sounds like you are having fun with your Christmas decorating! As soon as Thanksgiving is over I am ON IT! :haha: My dh is the very traditional sort you know....clear lights on the tree, always talking minimal outside...I am thinking definitely going multi-color on the tree this year! We always did when I was a kid and the girls have never had that. So, with our new arrival Idef think some color is on our horizon!

AFM- :hi: What a night! The last 2 nights Kat has decided to start her stuff again, waking me every 30 minutes or so. I am taking a different bent with it this time round and not tolerating it at all. As soon as I ascertain there are no bad dreams or itchy's or hurts anywhere--mean mad mama appears! :growlmad: After 4 times in less than an hour last night I left it up to Papa though...He dealt with her twice and she decided to stay in bed! :haha: Aeryn is awesome though, letting me sleep several hours ata time  T is on a new antibiotic for this crazy throat infection- I hope this one does the trick  Poor kid :nope: Today- some school, pack some wood, chill out...

Ohh! And I am excited! It didn't take much talking at all to convince dh to just leave my car outside in the yard this winter :haha: I told him I want to pull out my weight bars, my exercise unit ( a big machine with weights, etc) and put up the big bunching bag for boxing  He jumped on the idea and told me he would get a car cover and leave it at that! :haha: Great news, means we don't have to clean in the garage anymore or throw anything else away lol, and I get my mini-gym :happydance:

Babywhisperer
- :hi: :hugs: How are yo u doing?

Babydust
- where are you? Hope you are all doing okay!

Angel-

Terri- you are MIA lady what's up? Hope you are okay  I'm gonna stalk your chart some more! :hugs:

TwoToGo- keep us posted! :hugs: You are a tough lady!

Hi Coy, Yes, I get to keep my doula and my midwives, UNLESS something untoward happens.... I can for sure have my mom and my doula at the hospital with me.... I'm going to see if I can argue for having my DD there as well for emotional reasons (I might as well play whatever cards I have on that front!) and I get to keep my midwives unless something is out of order at the 38 week mark (big, massive baby, uncontrolled GD numbers, placental insufficiency... that sort of thing)..... the only reason I would have to give up the midwives is if the Obstetrician HAS to step in... the way the billing to the province works, they will only pay for ONE type of professional to 'deliver' the baby.... But I have been advocating for staying with the midwives as I need the kind of care they provide (more personal, better aftercare, etc) due to the incredible stress I've been under during this pregnancy. I would end up costing the system so much more money if I have more complications etc that could have been avoided with the emotional supports I've set up for myself.... better for me, better for baby, and definitely better for the 'system'.....

I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight as of this morning..... still eating tons, just eating better!!! and my numbers are well under control.... baby is on target for size and I'm feeling good....
All good arguments for being able to stick with most of my original birth plan!!!

Philo: it's great that you get to keep your doula and midwives. I don't know much about birthing babies, but that sounds like a great way to go! And congrats on the healthy diet!

Phil- you are still at pre-prego weight?! That;s incredible! I'm not sure what I weigh now but think I gained a total of 25 pounds or so w/this pregnancy. I am trying to be careful what I eat and honestly my appetite has been off and I have to kick myself to remember to eat meals. Otherwise I nit-pick-snack all day :sad1: Just waiting to fit into my bad-a$$ jeans again :sad2: lol!

Yeah, well, I had way more extra padding to start with than you did!! I have fluxuated between 3-6lbs over pre-preg weight all along, which I was told was fine since I did have so much extra padding to start with! As long as I'm eating healthy and not dieting or starving myself it's all good.... if I'm lucky, after I give birth I might be lighter than when I started!! BUT if I was a healthy weight before getting prego then they would be tsking me about not gaining.... as it is, the diabetes in pregnancy clinic nurse is not happy that I've lost a few pounds.... I don't think she believes me when I say I'm eating all the time! What I've found is that eating every 2 hours (though a pain!) seems to be good for me... more nutrition and less refined garbage and more or less the same number of 'calories' and my weight is just doing what it wants.... my midwife and I joked about starting a new weight loss fad.... Just get pregnant!! LOL
Knowing that keeping up with my GD eating plan etc is necessary for me to keep my midwives is a good motivator to stick with it when I want to just eat junk..... *sigh*

Where is everyone? :sadangel:.......

Hm. Well AFM then I guess  LOL! Ah, I am feeling down about my body now, poor body image and all that  Feelin' fat, yep, that's me :haha: My poor dh, he has to deal with me  Anyway we have agreed to set up the garage as a small gym, dh is going to help me, I can't wait to get started! I have started using mys mall weight set here inside the house, I figure if I start building muscle now that will help me burn fat off.

Odd though, and I was going to ask Jess about this- my stomache muscles feel strangley sore- as though I have been doing thousands of crunches, but I haven't dome wnything  Is this because of pregnancy and labor, etc do you suppose ladies? That's what dh says, but I don't remember it from the last 2 dd's. Anyway and I have this faint dark line running down the center of my abs too  I can't wait to start crunches but don't want to damage anythng.

And my hip muscles are incredibly stiff and sore! I wonder if it is the waning prolactin?

Went researching some protein drinks, etc, and found some whey protein shakes (mmmm chocolate :cloud9:) that I think I will start on soon. Just have to confirm with doc it is safe while Bf'ing. Nice to have a plan! Gonna try to stick to this diet:

Meats
Eggs
Water
Coffee (ahem!)
Raw veggies
Gummy Worms & Chocolate (:gun: ) an occassional discrepancy of good judgement  lol!

Isn't the dark line down the middle of your stomach from your muscles spreading in late pregnancy? Maybe you are sore b/c they are knitting back together. Be kind to yourself you were in great shape before and during your pregnancy and you will bounce back in not time. Be patient and don't restrict what you eat too much esp if you are nursing. You need to give your body time to heal and move your alignment back properly. Your spine and hips will go back to where they were before your pregnancy. Don't be hard on yourself you are one fit mama!!!

Afm, 2 smiles and 2 days of bding, cramps are gone so maybe I've ovu'd already? Temps are rising too. What a difference a day makes, I was so crampy and tired yesterday. Dh is teaching a law school class and should be home soon.

Yay! sounds like you got the timing spot on this month!! Good Luck!

Hey Ladies :hi:

Going to be brief as I'm doped up and can barely keep my eyes open. Took some benadryl and it just knocks me out cold. At least I'm not itchy! I have an appt to see my FS tomorrow. The itching was so horrible today I could barely handle it! I was dabbing the benadryl gel on the spots as they popped up. Kind of like playing wackamole with the dabs of gel! I had to do it that way as taking the benadryl for me is like taking a sleeping pill. Good night Irene!

Phil - so happy you sound great, and your weight a huge congrats!!

Coy - take your time with the weight, you are still recovering, featherbedding will help as will walking. Take babes out for a walk in her stroller if it isn't too cold. Bundle her up and let her get some rosy cheeks!

First - I bet you are super excited you decided to go with the IVF cycle. I can't wait to see how it all turns out, so hopeful for your :bfp:

Jess - :test: OMG I think I might have to fly :plane: to TX to make you test!!!

BabyWhisperer - I am very excited about this month, non-dominant side, lots of BD'ing. :yipee: BTW, did they move the polyp you mentioned? Besides that, did they find anything else wrong? I'm already doing a :happydance: for you this cycle.

AFM- see above.. just super mega tired, and I can't wait to get this cycle started. It feels like forever ago that I was last trying.

Night ladies...

PS. BabyDust? Alin? Tracey? Angel? Come say :hi: We miss you!

Thank you, I hope so. In previous months we got in more bding, but this time only on the smiley days. I can't believe how soon after af I ovu! Maybe ovu from the less dominant side will do something positive (see what I did there). At the point I could fine out as early as my bday Nov 26 or as late as the 30th. I would love a bfp for my bday or my 1yr anniversary which is 12/3!!

Poor doped up Ali! I hope the hives subside.

I did have the polyp removed, it was very small. The d&c sucked the big one and the af following the procedure was hell! But it stopped the spotting I was getting so that's a plus. Go to sleep and hopefully the itching will be gone tomorrow.

Where's Alin??

I'm here, sorry been missing in action didnt think id be missed lol,I was a little upset last month when af showed as i was sure had covered it so dh said we could go out and buy new sofas, new bed,new bathroom suite, carpets for all through house, lino for bathroom and kitchen so been on spending spree and then we are in middle of turning a 3 bed into a 4 bed and extending bathroom so walls been knocked down, new walls going up,hectic lol.

Haven't been checking cp or cm or really done temps but know i bd cd 8,11 and 13 and ov cd 14,not gonna say think i got it covered as we did last month and month before and still no luck.

I will have a nosey and catch up now lol.

Jess - I did not have a delayed cycle due to the hsg. I've been watching your chart and noticed that you haven't spotted, so I'm in agreement with everyone else... :test::test::test::test::test:

Ali - Sorry you are breaking out in hives. They can be soooo miserable. I do think your weight gain has to do with the medications, so I wouldn't stress over it. It will be worth it in the end. :flower:

Coy - Be gentle with yourself. I'm sure you look fabulous! I would be carefull of trying to do too much too soon, but I understand the desire. Just make sure you are getting enough nutrients for both you and Aeryn.

Phil - Good for you for doing so well with your GD diet. I had it and I must admit that I only followed the GD diet on days I knew the hospital would test. (I was in the hospital for 5 weeks before I delivered). I was a very bad girl that way. I was caught the day the doctor changed up the testing day. I heard him yelling and calling me names (in a good way, we had a great and fun relationship) all the way down the hall. Then he forced me onto a diabetic diet and I would cry myself to sleep at night because I was so hungry. But it was all for the best.

Baby - Yay for O'ing! :happydance: Sounds like your timing was great! :happydance:

Alin - Sounds like you have been busy. The shopping spree sounds fun, though.

AFM - The consult went well. Although my regular doctor told me this would be "just a consult - no poking or prodding" she was wrong. But that's okay. I am to have a ductogram on the 28th of October to see what is going on. It doesn't sound very pleasant. :nope: But I will do whatever to find out what is wrong. I did find out that whether it is cancer or just a papilloma, they will just take the duct out - no other treatments, so we continue with ttc instead of holding off this month. Honestly, my DH wasn't planning on holding off I found out. A few days ago he was asking when the timing would be right this month. He still has it in his mind that just once is sufficient (if I was younger it probably would be.) and I had to explain it was better to BD several days up to O, and on O day. Not sure if he gets it yet.

Here is more info on the ductogram: https://www.everydayhealth.com/breast-cancer/diagnosing/ductogram.aspx

After the appointment, I went grocery shopping up in the city because I knew that the prices would be a bit better. I brought our cooler along to keep cold stuff cold. But then I was a very bad girl.... I took myself out to eat at a Chinese buffet. I totally went off the gluten free, sugar free diet. And, my body knew it. Let's just say I've spent a GREAT deal of time in the little room upstairs :loo: So, today I'm back to being good.

Still no spotting...hmmmm...I wonder what the deal is. I have a little bit of cramping today. So I think I will wait til Monday to test. Or maybe even Tuesday...that is when I will be officially late.

Ali...You made me laugh so hard with your ":plane: to TX!"

I have not tested yet. I just don't see where we BD'd at the right time for it to happen. And if it happened at the beginning of the month, before my HSG, then I could be in real trouble because the HSG involved X-Rays... :(

HMMMMM... I just did some chart stalking of my own.. You are 15DPO! Look at that dip at 7DPO (that is perfect implantation time)! :test: :test: :test:

I wouldn't worry about the HSG and the radiation you had then. You weren't pregnant then, and the egg hadn't even released. I think things look great. Maybe the HSG cleared the way for the :spermy: and you O'd right after the HSG, and wham, bam, bing! Stranger things have happened! :dust:
