Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali-

I read a bunch of stuff on this site that is interesting...

https://www.ivf1.com/ivf-implantation-failure/

about ZIFT and assisted hatching, etc.

Ali---So sorry... HUGS your way!!!!!!

Good point Grey Eyes made, did you have assisted hatching? Recommended for anyone over 38, per my FS. Don't give up!

Once again... hugs and kisses your way:hugs:

I haven't read the article yet.. I didn't have assisted hatching apparently if they make it to blast then they will hatch. However I do think they do assisted hatching with FET blasts? I will find out. I think we need to do some blood work and maybe a biopsy to see if anything is wrong?

I am so sorry Ali :hugs:
You have hope though, those :cold: are waiting for you. Will they test you for autoimmune? My RE didn't do anything so I had to do that on my own and found out I have celiac disease. I was gluten free for a whole year before doing ivf for a second time but still a bfn. I get unexplained pain in my arms that flares up for a few weeks and it goes away. I had an elevated ANA test after miscarriage but thyroid was fine.

Ali, so sorry it wasn't your month.... sending hugs and love your way....

Sorry Ali, I hope you can get some tests to find out whats going on. :hugs:

I have a definite feeling its a BFN for me again this cycle, but at least we have the appointment with the docs booked now, so at least I know we're moving on gradually. My boobs are still hurting, but I'm just not feeling it, does that make sense? My temp dropped loads yesterday, but it went up again this morning. Who knows what is going on? My body is never predictable. :rofl:

Er...my temps are still hight his morning at 8dpo...Maybe I will test tomorrow for the heck of it but seriously expect a bfn. I got my last bfp on 9dpo but stuff changes :shrug: I showed dh my chart yesterday and he almost swallowed his tongue :haha: Serves him right jumping me all the time :rofl: lol...:haha: Aw well....

AF arrived :nope::nope:

So sorry Samsfan. I know how sad it is. I wish that AF wasn't so miserable! I mean even when you aren't trying to get pregnant AF is horrible, but its 10x more so when you see/feel those telltale signs. AHHHH.. :grr:

I had some spotting when I wiped earlier, so AF is on the way for me. So fun! My entire vacation has been horrible cramping and lower back pain and now the next 5 days will be heavy flow. Seems like every time I take time off I end up with AF. Is that fair? NOOOOOO!

So I'm going to ask for autoimmune testing, and assisted hatching and uterine scarring. I wonder what my FS will suggest? I'm going to ask him what he thinks first, then offer any of my research suggestions! LOL!

Coy - Won't hurt to give it a :test: Wouldn't that be a wild surprise if you end up pregnant again so soon?

Phil - any baby news?

Babywhisperer - I'm glad your appointment was pretty positive:thumbup:. It sounds as if you are getting some support. It is just so bloody frustrating waiting,e specially at our age but by the sounds of it you are now in good hands. I'm so glad your DH is fully on board. :hugs:

Phil - stalking for you honey and wondering if the silence is either you collapsed in bed after a sleepless night or baby is coming!!!!!!!!!!!! :happydance:

Terri - I've looked at your chart, have you tested yet? I know you say you 'dont feel it' but I hear this from a lot of women and bingo, they get their BFP. In saying that I hear you as I'm 12DPO as well but little chance of a :bfp:. No symptoms here AT ALL :growlmad:, but I really shouldnt grumble as DH and I arent officially TTC yet and only had a wee accident at a good time in my cycle :winkwink:. I suppose I was just hoping for a nice Christmas miracle :cry:

FirstTry - how are you doing? Are you healing ok? Emotionally I mean?

Samsfan - what did you think of the acupuncture? I've been doing it for a couple of months and I'm sitting on the fence regarding it as it's so difficult to tell if it is having a positive effect or not :shrug:. Re AF arriving - :growlmad::hugs:

Coy - I've had a look at your chart and agree, boy oh boy you may have a nice surprise on board!! :thumbup: Are you going to hold out and test in a few days?

Never - I hope you are enjoying your DH being home:winkwink:. Looking forward to catching up more with you soon x

Ali - I'm so sorry about your :bfn: :hugs::hugs::hugs:. I agree looking into things more is a good way to go. If you are spending so much time, energy and money on something you want to be in the best shape possible. Perhaps within the next couple of months you may meet your knight in shining armour (or at least one you really like and enjoy :sex: with :winkwink:) and you'll get your little rainbow before you know it :hugs:.

AFM - AF due today and no sign, I usually even have a little bit of spotting by now but nope, nada:shrug:. I seriously cant be pregnant as I have absolutely no symptoms so my body is obviously being cruel and keeping me guessing for a couple more days :shrug:. I've had cramping for like 3 days but nothing, not even any pink spotting to indicate an IB so I havent a clue what is going on. Stress probably :growlmad: :cry:. If it doesnt appear by NYE I'm going to test then as I have a bottle of pink champagne in the fridge with my name on it! :winkwink::haha:.

Coy - what do you think of my chart?

I just want to sent another massive :hug: to Ali xoxoxo

Hi Ali,
I wish I could wave a magic wand and give bfp's out to all my BnB ladies.... but especially YOU!! I was so hoping this was your time....

AFM- not too much to say on this front.... night before last I couldn't sleep.... I cleaned the kitchen, organized my bedroom, cleaned the bathroom again, washed some dishes that had to be done by hand.... all in all was up until about 3:30 in the morning and then couldn't sleep more than another 3 hours before I was up again and doing more stuff.... Babes felt different then, and I was getting back achey, menstrual crampy, heavy feelings.... but nothing rhythmic ever started, so nothing labour-y.....
Yesterday I had my midwife appointment and since last week I've had a bad cough and stuffy, runny nose.... I asked what she would recommend and so I'm now taking vitamin C, Echinachea, and drinking boiled garlic (yuck).... on top of all my other stuff.... BUT - today my cough is all but gone and my stuffy, runny nose is SO much better!!
I took a nice hot bath (not too hot) before bed and I completely slept for a solid 7 hour block! it was lovely waking up and realizing it had been a long sleep!!
I've spent the whole day in bed thus far.... getting up to use the loo and I've gotten breakfast and will be getting lunch soon.... but just lazying in bed and napping and actually sleeping deep enough to have some crazy dreams!! My best friend is coming over later this afternoon for tea so in a couple of hours, I'll start thinking about having a shower and maybe making some cookies or muffins for us.... my plan is to be a lazy bones until this babes arrives! I've got until at least the 7th of January to relax - that's when I go see the 1st obstetrician for another consult- and as long as babes is wiggly every day and I feel good, and the ultrasounds come back fine, I'm good for Babes to pick her own birthdate....

*sigh*

Here's to lazy, hazy, weekend days! The calm before the storm!!

it was SLEEP, beautiful SLEEP!!! I was a little weepy and emotional yesterday, but I'm sure it was the lack of sleep from being up the night before.... so now the rule is to get as much sleep as I can until this babes shows her face!!
I love the look of pink champagne.... it always takes me to the scene in "An Affair to Remember" where Debra Kerr and Cary Grant are drinking it together.... it's one of my all time favourite movies.... I know almost every scene and I still blubber like a baby at the end..... Oh, to be loved like that!!

Here's some :dust: for you!!

Hey Phil, sounds like the nesting instinct had kicked in big time!

The way you are feeling us exactly how I was before my ds arrived, the cold, the nesting, him moving all the time etc. It won't be long now, I think I went a week or so after the cold.

Enjoy the relaxing quiet xo

Alicatt. Wish AF would take a hike. So we are almost on the same schedule. Maybe we will get a BFP together. They should have done assisted hatching. After 38 our eggs become tough chicks they need help. Check out my docs video. Click on the the 4th video and it gives you information. https://longislandivf.com/patient_portal.cfm

Ohhh Greyeyes. Wish you would ninja AF out of here for nine months. You are a pro with your charts.

So everything is moved up. 3 day blood test monday!!!!!! Finally acupuncture was moved to wednesday....

We discussed AH during my last IVF and we decided that we would do a day 3 transfer with AH. Then I had a stellar turn out and they wanted to do a day 5 transfer. I asked my FS about it again, and he said that if you make it to blastocyst then they will hatch on their own. Then why do AH? I was reading the booklet they sent me about FET, they only freeze day 5, and they mention AH for FET? Well if you do AH on a day 5 FET then why wouldn't you do AH on a day 5 fresh? It literally makes no sense. I wish they had done AH on my day 5 blasts! I really do think that is one of the issues!

So my plan is:

* AH on my frosties :cold:
* Uterine Scraping
* Immunological testing and treatment
* Lovenox
* Vitamin D

Anything else anyone can suggest?

Alicatt. My understanding is this... And it should be part of the protocol... "The most common reason for an IVF or ICSI cycle to fail is because embryos fail to implant. *Before an embryo can implant into the lining of the uterus it must 'hatch' out of its 'shell'. *This usually occurs five or six days following fertilisation.

There are many reasons why successful implantation does not occur. *One of these reasons may be due to the fact that the embryo is unable to 'hatch' because the 'shell' (zona pellucida) is too thick, or too hard. *Assisted hatching is a laboratory procedure whereby a hole is made in the 'shell' of a two or three-day old embryo in order to help in the 'hatching' process and therefore, help with the implantation of the embryo into the endometrium. *This two or three day old embryo is then placed back into the womb."

Im also on vitamin D. It thr was an issue with your uterus they would have seen it with the sonos. Did they say anything then? You may want to add CoQ10 for the uterus lining.

So sorry babe. I think getting all the tests done is smart before you take the next step. I also think you might want to look into another group. The need to change your protocol or tweak it in some way. Maybe it's as simple as assisted hatching. Let us know what they say. In the meantime, take some time off, rest, relax and regroup. I am saying prayers and sending you hugs!

:hugs:
