Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

heheh...yes, I have been trying to get 2-3 nights a week where I just do my thing. Sometimes only get one but it's nice! I had "the long talk" with dd's about mommy time...one night late my 3 year old storms into the family room and orders me to my bed

Whadup little girl! :haha: So I had to spell it out...if mommy wants to sit up til 4 am watching tv or working out she will...'cause mommy's a grown-up  lol!

Ali- yes, if you stop provera//progesterone your uterine lining will shed...NOT what we want to have happen while implanting

AWE.. kids are so adorable! Yours especially!

I will take all the lining shedding for the thread for a while.. nobody else is allowed :nope: LOL!

Ali- I need my own shedding for a bit! :haha: Dh and I have been talking and it's really like being between a rock and a hard spot--age vs. ...well, wanting to be fit again! I am not mentally ready for pregnancy again YET iykwim, but then I think "I am getting older, so...." but we have decided to sorta try to prevent through timing- then if I DO get preggo it's God's fault :smug: lol! How's that for logic! I think I ov'd yesterday, will test again today in about half hour or so...but bd on CD 15 & 19, and today is CD 23 so ......2WW I guess?

OK! We can share the shedding then :haha: I just want to keep it from people like Chandal, and Samsfan and anyone else in the 2WW!!!

I totally understand your wanting to wait, but having the EEK.. I'm getting older concern. Don't forget that you are still quite a few years younger than some of us! I'm 40, Phil was 40 when she got pregnant, and I think Chantal is 40ish too! So you just never know what your body will do  IMO, I'd do the NTNP, and just let it be in God's hands.

Plus from the sounds of it, your body is already in awesome shape! You already know you can get back to your pre-pregnancy weight in a matter of months! So why not do the NTNP? I guess the only reason not to is if you don't want another baby. But I think you've already said you want one more. Of course then there is the idea of having 2 babies in diapers at the same time :dohh: :haha: Still, it can be done! Just think, women back 200 years ago were pregnant all the time. I was looking at my family tree around the turn of the century (1770-1840s) and my great great (not sure how many) were pregnant like every year or so! Some of them had like 10-14 kids! :saywhat: I was amazed by this, they were literally pregnant from age 18-35 or something insane like that. Talk about fertile people! They managed to have babies in diapers, and back then there weren't washing machines or disposable diapers. OMG I don't even want to think about life back then. :nope: I'm not suggesting you pop out another 5-7 kids, but if you and DH have decided that you want one more child, then why not just put it in God's hands?

That's what we are going to do I think...btw, I did test again, I don't know ladies....looks like another positive today- would be almost exactly 24 hours later! So I am wondering if I didn't ov yesterday? what's all the cramping and pains about then? Ugh, our bodies should come with an instruction guide book! So I am CD 23, cm seems to be drying up (tmi, sorry!) w/bd on CD 19, 15, and back...hm...but my LP has only been about 9 days so...

PS.. Coy.. you might lap some of us :haha: You could get pregnant AGAIN before some of us do the first time! Wouldn't that be a riot? I'd be happy for you, but a little jealous I think. Still I'd do a jig :happydance:, I don't get jealous for long.

Yep.. looks like another positive to me. I have a few theories as to why this happens:

1) Your body is struggling to ovulate, which is what happens when we go off BDPs, or have recently been pregnant. Your body is trying to regulate and the hormones are still getting back to normal. I know this is going to be gross  but I think of it as something like a zit. It takes a few days to come to a head, and eventually it is poppable, but it takes a few days to get like that. So your body keeps sending more and more white blood cells to the area and eventually there are enough and it pops. Well your follicles are like that too. It takes a combination of FSH and LH to create the follicle, and your estrogen levels rise as the follicle grows. So then once the estrogen level gets to a certain point, your LH will surge and this will keep surging until the follicle bursts, but if it is having trouble bursting (the pain and the cramping) it might take longer to do so, hence the elevated LH surge for more than one day. It will keep trying and trying to pop that follicle. Then once it does, your progesterone levels rise from the burst bubble (the corpus luteum). Then the lack of hCG tells your corpus luteum it is no longer needed, and it dies away. When that happens your progesterone level falls and AF arrives.
2) You could have 2 follicles bursting and one burst yesterday and another one is going to burst today.
3) Your LH surge was so high that it happened yesterday but your LH level is still high enough to register on an OPK. For example, I think they are supposed to register anything above 20. What if your peak was closer to 50? It is possible, I know that I tested a LH surge as high as 46 when I was in Canada. So I got a positive OPK at 25, I surged up to 46 (or higher), then the following day it was going down but still above 20, and then the next day it was back below 20. That is entirely possible.

So I'm thinking 1 or 3, but it could be 2 as well. Yes, our bodies are complex, and without our own lab, we can't really know exactly what happens
when!

I think that is why the combination of the positive OPK and the temp spike helps. At least then you know you have finished ovulating. :dohh: Our bodies are so  I wish they could give us tests like the glucose meter, so we could test ourselves at home!

Hey ladies, my weekly signing in here :winkwink:

Coy, I caught your post of FB, I hope your finger is ok!

Ali, how are honey?

Never, Twotogo, Terri, Samsfan and everybody else :hi:.

Welcome motherof2.

Sorry, I'm posting and running, it's after 10pm here and I'm rebuilding our home laptop as DH got a virus on it, a major one:growlmad:. It happened a month ago and he still cant speak to me when I'm trying to get it sorted or I'll pounce on him :haha:. The stupid man got conned with the virus to try and unlock it and spent £100 in the process, fecking men. He was too embarrassed to ring me when it happened as yes, he was being a typical man and was on a soft porn site!!!!!!!! Arrrrggghhhhh....... If it wasnt for the money I would have laughed my head off lol.

Anyways I'll update you on my wonderful (ok not so wonderful life at the moment) tomorrow.

Night all xoxo

Yay! Coy is going to ttc again

Yes Ali is right I am the same year as Phil 1971. When dh and I have an argument I remind him that I a 2 years older :haha:

Ok I will stop POAS. Dh is just as bad. He said if I was running low on EPT's I should just buy a bunch of dollar store tests so I could POAS every day in Barbados. He is so funny :haha: I have had lots of pinching in my uterus today but I don't feel tired which is weird. I was soooo happy that I was not in bed all day vomiting and cuddling my hot water bottle while popping ibuprofen like I usually do when the :witch: visits.

How crazy that meteorite that exploded over Russia! It was the size of a bus! They said the meteorite shower spewed fireballs!!

UPDATE: I just got my period!!!! AF has arrived! She is sneaky, I didn't have too many aches or pains, it was a :ninja: visit! I'm so happy you have no idea!!!! It means I'll be going in for a baseline on Monday :yipee: :headspin: :happydance:

I agree... You went to the doctor...they did a blood test..dont be negative...think wonderful, snuggly thoughts Chantal

Nooooooooo!

I just did an hpt with FMU and the line is so faint even more so then the first one I got yesterday morning

It looks like this might not be a viable pregnancy. I think I got a blood pregnancy test too early. All the stress of trying to get there last night. I am so heartbroken :sadangel: On the positive side no spotting, just mild cramping...

I am going to go do some yoga and meditation. That is more positive than worrying...I will leave it in God's hands.

Chantal, it doesn't matter how faint the line is right now- in these early days the concentration of your urine makes a massive difference! When I was testing multiple times, the lines were all sorts of 'noticeable' the first week or so! If the line is there then you are fine! Don't assume it's not viable- that is stress you don't need!

I agree.. maybe you should just stop taking tests? I know that would be impossible for me too, but maybe it would help with the stress. Just keep visualizing that little bean sticking, and get ready for your wonderful trip to Barbados. Do as your RE's nurse suggested and keep using the cream!

alicatt- Hooray for the witch! I got my schedule from FS and I'm scheduled to start my cycle around February 23rd!

Im excited and nervous. I feel like im juggling and im nervous about what the drugs do to the body and how ill look when i take them. I think Coy is in awesome shape and if i worried about losing weight to have a bby i wld never have one. I am always starting a diet:nope: and never following one. So i just have to do it at this point, otherwise i would remain childless.

Awesome! Are you excited?

Ali- yay for AF!! Now -question - do you stop taking provera NOW or still wait for Sunday morning?

Sam- nothing wrong with your body hon! Conceive, I order you! :haha:

Chantal- I understand going  poas'ing! (whiper) but take a few tests for minds sake anyway :shhh: lol!

Angel- nuts for the computer parasite! I'd beat his butt for looking at porn! :haha: Good to hear from you :hugs:

I hear you on the weight thing. Unfortunately the IVF meds will not be friendly to weight loss. I was able to lose the weight I put on from the first cycle in between the 2 cycles, but with my insane cycle this past month I've actually put on a few pounds in addition to those I gained with my second IVF  I have not been worrying about it too much these past 2 weeks as I know that a good portion of it is period related and as soon as AF gets here, I'll have a huge weight loss. So now AF is here! So I should see at least a 5lb weight loss in the coming days. :happydance: Couple that with me going back on my GF diet, and I'll be back to normal in no time. So don't beat yourself up if you find yourself gaining weight during your cycle, a lot of it is water weight, and you'll get it off once the cycle is done, or in the first trimester if you are successful  I've actually heard a lot of women lose weight during the first trimester since the baby doesn't weigh much, and you are throwing up all the time :haha:

Anyway, just take each day at a time, and just know that this is going to help you get your dream baby :baby: !!!

Since AF arrived (well sorta kinda), its still only spotting, my cycle starts today CD1. So my biopsies will after ovulation, which will be around CD18-24 (not sure what days they want to do them), but there will be 2 right around the time that your body should be doing implantation, which is normally 5-10 days after ovulation. Then I'll go off the progesterone and I'll get my period again around CD28 and then about 20 days later we'll be doing my REAL FET!!! By my calculations it will be around April 3-5th.

Here are the important dates if that is indeed when my FET occurs:

First beta: April 19, 2013
Singleton Due Date: December 20, 2013
Twins By Ave Gestation: November 28, 2013
Triplets By Ave Gestation: November 02, 2013
Quads By Ave Gestation: October 26, 2013

So I'll still have a due date in 2013!!!! YIPPEE!!! :headspin:

AHHHH.. I don't know? The FS said I am supposed to take it for the full 10 days, but I don't want to take it, I want my period! I thought I would post the question on the IVF thread to see if they would have an answer.

PS. Sam I meant to say in my last post, but got sidetracked.. Don't wait for your weight, that is what I did, and well, it didn't work :haha: So just do it!! We want to see your :bfp: ASAP! If you start your cycle around Feb 23rd then I think you would be POASing around St. Patricks Day!!! How is that? Do you have a little luck of the Irish?

I'm Irish! I'll give her some luck

That is awesome!!! I'm Irish too :)

I don't know what to do about the provera, any suggestions ladies?

OMG you guys are awesome!!! I sound so corny, and don't care.. but you guys are so great! I hope I get the luck of the Irish!!!!!!!

I'm going to be huge... How much wait do you gain during IVF. I was hoping that I would get petrified by the thought and be really strict with my diet. Well, my work gets in my way! Today I had a piece of chocolate all day, because I had a full schedule in am, meeting at lunch and trial till 5. (it was the only thing around I could grab) Then I had acupuncture and got home tired... Had a grilled chicken sandwich and fries!!!! uggghhhhh I'm the heaviest ever  and now I'm going to gain more... I hope it has a reverse effect on me... My only hope is that I had a really heavy friend..who gained no weight during her pregnancy and she lost weight when she gave birth. I'm not obese, but pleasantly plump:nope: And in the eye of the public all day long... people are going to talk ..maybe I can spanxs my body..but not my face and I love to gain weight in the face... Can I get face spanxs:sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::tease::tease::tease::tease:

I'm Irish! I'll give her some luck
