Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Chantal- I'm so relieved for you. I was thinking of you all day.

I feel like a bloated pig..can't wait to get beyond this.

Chantal- Wooohhhh. So glad its all okay. Think positive thoughts and all will be okay.

Alicatt- I think your body may need a break from the drugs. I don't know what my lining is. I didn't ask. I'll ask tomorrow.

I trigger tonight at 10 pm. I'm so nervous for the big needle. Thursday 930 is ER day! I have 7 eggs. Largest is 22.5 smallest is 13

Numb the area with ice first and you won't feel it Sam!

aww yes I also remember being very bloated but after they retrieved the eggs I felt empty and wanted them back. Couldn't wait for transfer. This is an exciting time for you hun.

I can barely keep my eyes open. Goodnight xx

Chantal- Thanks for the tip on the ice! I didn't feel a thing and it was all because of you!

Goodnight!

Chantal - so happy that things are going well! Been sending you positive vibes all day!

SAMs - yay for triggering! It wasn't too bad was it? So ER on Thursday.. Ohh so excited! You may get more eggs, sometimes they are hiding. Can't wait to see how things turn out

AFM - SAMs, I tend to agree, I hate the weight gain. Plus the fatigue and just general malaise I've been feeling. Them I'm torn with wanting to be pregnant ASAP! I'm thinking of starting a gourmet food delivery service. They deliver meals 3x a week it's about $7 a meal. They have GF and Paleo and low carb, all sorts of different meal plans. Each meal is about 300-400 calories. I'd get breakfast, lunch and dinner the. supplement with 2 snacks. Like yogurt and fruit or veggies. That will jump start my weight loss and hopefully increase my energy levels!

Hello Ladies!

I'm excited because it's Sam's trigger day :wohoo:
Can't wait for your retrieval Sam. This is the part of ivf I love :) cheering for your follies!
A tip for the injection. numb the butt with ice for 4 mins and let the nurse circle the best spot for the injection. Dh had to tell me he was done. Didn't feel it

Ali I seem to remember you having a headache when you were taking the provera before. Could it be a side effect for you?

Phil did your tipped uterus make it more difficult for the sono tech to see your baby early on?

Angel fingers crossed for you and :dust:

I went to a different sono tech this morning. It was 24 F brrrr ..
This lady was much nicer. This time she did see the yolk sac with the trans-abdominal sono. She said I won frist prize for the fullest bladder :haha: Then she did the trans-vaginal one. Though she didn't see a fetal pole still she was encouraging by saying "You have a yolk sack that is a good sigh" She said I measured 5 weeks 2 days while the lady on Sunday said I measured 5 weeks 2 days. She explained that the gestational sac was very small so the yolk sac was proportionate to the 6mm gestational sac. I just hope it hasn't stopped growing since Sunday. :nope: She said not to worry about how big it is measuring, since I have a short cycle (25-27 days and I ovulated on cycle day 16)this could be the reason I am only 5 weeks 2 days . She congratulated dh and I. I was surprised since the other tech Sunday just said try clomid. Like if she was dismissing this pregnancy. A doctor's bedside manner makes all the difference when you don't get the news you were hoping for . Now I have to wait 2 weeks for next sono and first visit with OBGYN. FATIGUE hit me like a ton of bricks as soon as I got home. I can hardly keep my eyes open. Plus I felt nauseous this morning in the car. At last some symptoms other than just sore bb's

hi Chantal,
I wasn't sent for an ultrasound until I was 12 weeks so I can't tell you. But none of the techs seemed to have a problem with my uterus and always were able to find what they were looking for. You guys have so many more tests than I got. I never had my beta checked- I had poas confirmation at the dr's office, then only my own poas craziness until my GP examined me at 9 weeks and offered to 'try' and hear the heartbeat.... and she found it!! that is very, very early to hear it, btw.... then the sonogram at 12 weeks, and then the next at 20 weeks.... I had loads of scans the last two months or so, but that was due to the GD.... I had nothing to see the babe early on. What I can say, is that even when they are measuring and giving you an age for your babe, its still based on averages and can be a day or two or more off.... later it can even be off by a week or so either way at any given scan. As much as we know what happens when we conceive and carry a baby, the baby rarely grows exactly according to textbook expectations.
So take a deep breath and enjoy this time as much as you are able!
Sleep when you are tired.... it will be a lot! and its a good sign that all is well.....
my guess is that the first tech isn't very good at her job and tried to distract from that fact by making it seem like it was you, not her that was the problem. I like the sound of your second tech much better. She would have been more neutral if she thought there was a problem, I think. that she congratulated you is a great indicator that she thinks all is fine with your little one!!

AFM:
I'm typing one handed as the wee babe sleeps in my arm! she's been fussy the last week or so, but overall is a normal, sweet babe. My family baby shower is this weekend, and I just finished baking my famous Blarney Stone cupcakes, but replaced the flour with gluten free flour and chia flour. Will see how they turn out! tomorrow I will pop them in the freezer to keep them fresh until Friday when I will frost them with cream cheese icing and a sprinkling of edible pink sparkles.... my mom is bringing everything else...

Today I decorated the living room for the shower and the rest of the house for St. Patrick's Day! and then I will decorate for Spring after the 17th!

I love to decorate!

Babes is waking- Later, 'gators!

Im in shock, amazed and stunned..... I have never had a BFP before 16DPO, and I don't remember having one with lines so dark so early either. I got a BFN on Sunday evening so to get this 2 1/2 days later I'm praying is a good sign.

Will catch up this evening ladies, have a lovely day. I'm off out to dinner with work for my leaving party xoxo

Congratulations Angel!!! Sooooooo Happy for you!! That is such a dark line!! I was praying when you said you had an inkling the other day :wohoo: You are having another miracle baby!! I was feeling down today after a negative call from my OBGYN... this so cheered me up! Here's to your leaving work and new beginnings! Celebrate girl!!! Not selfish at all. I am sure I speak for the rest of us that we would have been offended had you not shared the news with us :happydance: Huge

Congrats Angel! That is great news!!! So happy for you :) :wohoo: :headspin: That is a very strong :bfp: I bet you are over the moon!!!! See if they will give you some anti-NK cell drugs/infusions? Maybe an infusion or IVIg or Intralipids, or failing that I've heard that things like Anti-TNF drugs can help? Or prednisone? Each suppress the immune system allowing for the embryo to dig in and stay put!

Chantal - what did your OBGYN say? Is he concerned?

AFM - just working.. called to schedule Zoe's surgery for Tuesday. Going to call www.deliverlean.com today and get signed up for meal delivery again. I think it is my best option to get back on track diet-wise, and hopefully I'll get my energy back when I eat properly, and will then be able to add working out to the mix!

BabyWhisperer, Jess, TwoToGo, Coy, Tracey? Where are you? :sadangel:

Sam I am so glad you didn't feel the trigger shot. Now you can look forward to the fun stuff

Phil- The second tech told me she had been through a miscarriage herself so that is most likely why she was so kind. You are supermom typing with one hand!! Your house sounds all nicely decorated for the baby shower :hugs:

Ali- the high risk OBGYN finally phoned me back and she refused to prescribe the progesterone. She said that she only prescribes it for women who have had 3 miscarriages and I have had only had one. Seems the 2 unsuccessful Ivfs don't count !!! Neither do chemical pregnancies where I've had a positive and then :af: a few days later :growlmad: She also said that she doesn't think this is a normal pregnancy since according to last lmp I should be at least 6 weeks and they should be seeing a fetal pole not just a yolk sac. Scheduled for a beta tomorrow as she said the hospital's numbers could be inaccurate. As far as I know the hospital has much better sono machines etc. The nurse scheduled another u/s next Friday. I don't understand why I have to wait that long. That's just 3 days before my appointment with high risk OBGYN. I have met her before after seeing the rheumatologist. I remember her being snooty with no bedside manner but she deals with pregnancy with autoimmune disorders. That is the only reason I am going to her. At the time I had a chemical pregnancy and wanted her to run some tests but she said she would only do that once I was pregnant. Well I don't seem to stay pregnant long enough.

Congrats Angel!!!!!!

Chantal - I'm sorry about the bad call. I hope the doc is wrong :(

HMM.. sounds like you need to see another type of high risk OBGYN to get you past this hump, then once you do, then you can switch to this other one? I really do think you need to get further advice help. Can you call around to other OBGYNs? See if someone can help?

Chantal- sorry for my upcoming language usage but your doc sounds like a total di**wad (ahem!) I think you should try to fill the prescriptions you have--are the refills not out of date yet you said? And/or get more cream asap. You doc/nurse had no business talking to you tha way! As tired as you are- totally normal for pregnancy :hugs:

Ditto Coy's naughty language! If there is anything I have learned about health care in this country, the only advocate for your health is yourself. If you know something is wrong, then you need to stand up and fight to get it resolved. My co-worker has had blinding pain behind his left eye for almost 2 weeks now. The Dr prescribed him some medicine to help with the pain and a CT to find out why it is happening. Well our insurance is denying his CT! :saywhat: I told him to call and complain and find out why they are denying it. I've never been denied a scan, so I have no idea why they would be denying his? So do what you can to fight and get what you need, whether it be the progesterone, or additional help from your FS? Have you called them recently? Maybe you can go in there for a checkup and see if they will work with you during these first few weeks? I know that this is normally part of an IVF cycle, but maybe they have some options for you? Wouldn't hurt to try?

Ali- hi bnb buddy!:hi: How are ya today? I have been trying to equate things in regard to your lining...what's diff this time around, because last time they were concerned it was too thick, remember??

Ali- hi bnb buddy!:hi: How are ya today? I have been trying to equate things in regard to your lining...what's diff this time around, because last time they were concerned it was too thick, remember??

I know! It makes no sense! Plus I've had great linings up until this point. So here is what I think happened.

1) Different type of meds, and I bet my body didn't assimilate it well
2) Bad diet, I've been eating horribly the past 5-6 weeks
3) No aspirin
4) No acupuncture

So I'm on my 3rd day of 7 days of provera, with the hope that AF arrives around 2-4 days after my last day of provera.. target date of: March 13th. Then baseline on March 15th, and we start again with the Vivelle Dot patches. They are like the nicotine patch, and provide estrogen transdermally (through your skin), so it is continuous support. They will slowly increase my dose from 1 patch every 3 days to 2 patches every 3 days then 4 patches every 3 days, and hopefully my lining will react to that better. I signed up for www.deliverlean.com so I'm getting 3 good meals delivered a day, plus I'll get 2 snacks on my own (yogurt, fruit, etc). I'm also going to ask them about taking supplements? Do I need to take aspirin? Are there other supplements, or fruit that improve the lining? Should I do acupuncture again? These are the things that I will be asking them when I start up again.

All of this said, my biopsies will be on April 1st and 3rd, and ET will be April 29th (if my dates above are correct). Giving me a singleton due date of January 14th. Guess what? That is right around my Dad's birthday. Maybe I was delayed intentionally so that I could have a baby on my Dad's birthday! OHHH.. that would make me very happy! His birthday was January 16th and I miss him terribly (he died when I was only 11).

AFM- I have been going in circles lately, I swear. This has been a WTF week totally! Aahhh! :haha: Nothing funny about it, I shouldn't laugh :nope: Anyways it has been a struggle for me to try and stay positive about certain things in life, I am doing my best

Poor Kat has decided medicine isn't worth taking and fights me like a little animal. It's kicking my butt! :haha:
I finally talk her into taking it but not before she projectile vomits everywhere. It's psychosomatic I think. Yesterday I put 1/2 tsp of medicine in front of her and she looked at it and threw up on the floor. Twice. SO I had to clean that up. Then I was a mean mommy and made her take her medicine anyway :haha: Then last night she ate dinner, saw her 1/2 tsp of medicine and- you guessed it.

Three times. In succession.

TMI but I am suffering here, lol! An inch thick across my kitchen floor and up on the chairs and my stove and....:nope: I once suggested dh should come help and he was like :argh: LOL! I was up cleaning and doing laundry until about 1 a.m. Anyway, I stripped her down, showered her off----and handed her medicine to her :haha: I will NOT BE BEAT! :grr: lol

Ali- I think if the patches worked better then go with that method--it makes sense to me. And for the diet--always best to go healthy but a slice of pizza here or there shouldn't make a huge difference. Aw, that'd be awesome to have a baby near your dads b-day!!

And I'd go for acupuncture and massages and shopping too--- I think it ALL helps :haha:
