Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Phil- I love hearing about you gorgeous little baby! Fun typing one-handed isn't it? :haha: Fact, I am typing one-handed right now  Your decorating sounds fun...We have a huge leprechaun up in the living room for dd's an I think I'll pick up some craft paper so they can make chains and shamrocks...fun stuff, i think st. paddy's is my favorite holiday! This time I have purchased a leprechaun pipe that's gping to get "left behind" by the partying leprechauns this year. Dd's can discover it in the yard on there own :laugh2:

Ah, so I stressed about dh too- his doc called yesterday and said "you only have one day of antibiotic left so you have to come see me 2moro" so dh is going in today. If doc isn't satified with his recovery they will hospitalize him :nope: My handsome dh will be at the mercy of those horny ravenous succubus nurses :growlmad: :gun: lol...Oh, but I hope he doesn't have to, they'd have to iv etc... and dd's would probably stress hard, plus it feels weird when he's not here 8-[

Sam-How are you? Glad Chantal thought of the ice! So I have been a bit out of the loop for a few days, where are you at now with your stimming? How are you feeling?

Sam I am so glad you didn't feel the trigger shot. Now you can look forward to the fun stuff

Phil- The second tech told me she had been through a miscarriage herself so that is most likely why she was so kind. You are supermom typing with one hand!! Your house sounds all nicely decorated for the baby shower :hugs:

Ali- the high risk OBGYN finally phoned me back and she refused to prescribe the progesterone. She said that she only prescribes it for women who have had 3 miscarriages and I have had only had one. Seems the 2 unsuccessful Ivfs don't count !!! Neither do chemical pregnancies where I've had a positive and then :af: a few days later :growlmad: She also said that she doesn't think this is a normal pregnancy since according to last lmp I should be at least 6 weeks and they should be seeing a fetal pole not just a yolk sac. Scheduled for a beta tomorrow as she said the hospital's numbers could be inaccurate. As far as I know the hospital has much better sono machines etc. The nurse scheduled another u/s next Friday. I don't understand why I have to wait that long. That's just 3 days before my appointment with high risk OBGYN. I have met her before after seeing the rheumatologist. I remember her being snooty with no bedside manner but she deals with pregnancy with autoimmune disorders. That is the only reason I am going to her. At the time I had a chemical pregnancy and wanted her to run some tests but she said she would only do that once I was pregnant. Well I don't seem to stay pregnant long enough.

HMM.. sounds like you need to see another type of high risk OBGYN to get you past this hump, then once you do, then you can switch to this other one? I really do think you need to get further advice help. Can you call around to other OBGYNs? See if someone can help?

Yes Ali if we hear a heartbeat in a couple weeks I am switching doctors. She can't treat a pregnancy which isn't suppose to be viable right. However she did me a favor. I was so mad at her for refusing to prescribe it that I called the pharmacy and paid out of pocket for some prescribed progesterone! I feel better now :)

Chantal- sorry for my upcoming language usage but your doc sounds like a total di**wad (ahem!) I think you should try to fill the prescriptions you have--are the refills not out of date yet you said? And/or get more cream asap. You doc/nurse had no business talking to you tha way! As tired as you are- totally normal for pregnancy :hugs:

Coy that is exactly what I did! I was so mad at the OBGYN that I phoned the pharmacy that supplied all the meds for my 2 ivf cycles. I still had refills for endometrin progesterone but the authorization from fertility doc had run out. I asked if I could pay out of pocket for it and she said sure no problem. I suddenly didn't feel sleepy anymore, rushed there and i got my progesterone. They deliver but I would have had to wait since we are in the middle of a snowstorm. Now at least I feel like I am doing something and not just being a sitting duck.

Chantal- Yay! I am glad you paid out of pocket--I had tyo also as ,well, I didn't have insurance at the time :haha: And once I did get insurance they wouldn't pay for it  It will help ease your mind too, I was sooOoo nervous before I got on it. I can't wait for you to hear the HB- such an awesome feeling :) Are you still tired today? Feeling ms ata ll? Usually starts between 5-7 weeks'ish.

I know what you mean by "sitting duck" I felt that way too until I did something. I hated waiting for other people! Snow sotrm? Do you have a snowstorm coming? It's supposed to rain rain rain here...Guess I'm gonna get wet :haha:

Why ME! :sad2: lol

Did I mention that your due date is my little Aeryn's birthday? :cloud9: Yay!

She sounds  nuts! So glad you got your progesterone  I hope it wasn't too expensive! You'll probably have to keep using it until you are finished your first trimester, or the placenta takes over.

AFM- I have been going in circles lately, I swear. This has been a WTF week totally! Aahhh! :haha: Nothing funny about it, I shouldn't laugh :nope: Anyways it has been a struggle for me to try and stay positive about certain things in life, I am doing my best

Poor Kat has decided medicine isn't worth taking and fights me like a little animal. It's kicking my butt! :haha:
I finally talk her into taking it but not before she projectile vomits everywhere. It's psychosomatic I think. Yesterday I put 1/2 tsp of medicine in front of her and she looked at it and threw up on the floor. Twice. SO I had to clean that up. Then I was a mean mommy and made her take her medicine anyway :haha: Then last night she ate dinner, saw her 1/2 tsp of medicine and- you guessed it.

Three times. In succession.

TMI but I am suffering here, lol! An inch thick across my kitchen floor and up on the chairs and my stove and....:nope: I once suggested dh should come help and he was like :argh: LOL! I was up cleaning and doing laundry until about 1 a.m. Anyway, I stripped her down, showered her off----and handed her medicine to her :haha: I will NOT BE BEAT! :grr: lol

Yikes! That sounds  horrible. Smelling vomit makes me want to  too. Its that gag reflex, get me every time! So how about hiding the medicine in something else? I realize it isn't as easy as hiding it in cheese or peanut butter for dogs. You could maybe put it into a cherry soda? Or something? Not sure what it tastes like, but maybe if you hide it in something else, she'll get it down?

So sorry to hear your DH is still having trouble kicking the infection. I hope he doesn't have to go into the hospital!!!

I felt nauseus last night but not this morning Coy. With the first pregnancy I felt ms from weeks 6-9 and miscarried. The OBGYN said "progesterone will not change the outcome if it isn't a viable pregnancy" I said I know that but it does help support the pregnancy and this is the first time I got pregnant in 3 years and the first cycle I used progesterone other than with ivf. So it must have helped" To which she said that I can continue taking the cream it won't hurt"I am amazed that I responded politely and didnt lose my cool.

Coy so sorry that your dh is so ill. I hope that he feels much better soon!
My new date according to the sonogram lady is Nov 2nd...I have a feeling it will change again in the next week...It has been snowing since last night..I like Aeryn's birthdate better because it's also our wedding anniversary. Well about 5 inches accumulation but for you that is probably a sprinkle and not considered a snowstorm :haha:

Oh, and I'm doing a cleanse on Sunday. It is 6 high octane juice drinks. I hope I can do it!

Here is a link to the cleanse: https://www.onjuice.com/cleanse-details.aspx?id=9

I packed a very healthy set of meals/snacks for myself today:

apple slices/grapes/cheese
yogurt
southwest chicken salad
carrots & ranch dressing
GF granola and fruit

All yummy healthy things.. and wow, you have no idea how much better I feel after eating it all.

I think it is going to get colder here tonight. No snow though! I don't know what I would do if it snowed in Florida. I don't think the people here would know how to drive? It would be mass chaos :haha:  I bet people don't own boots, or shovels, or ice scrapers. I have one in the backseat pocket in my SUV and my friend that has lived here all her life saw it and was like what is this? :saywhat: Then I realized she has never had to use one of these things. :haha: Too funny.

I'm chatty today! So happy I have people to chat with! Yay to Coy and Chantal :) :)

Well done Ali on your lunch and snacks today

I must confess I havent eaten much since Sunday morning. I Had a big breakfast of fruit and scrambled eggs and turkey bacon then it went downhill. Nothing for the rest of the day since I was waiting for the midwife then for the sonogram tech then the rhogam shot. Was 10 pm when we got home so just had soup.Monday I had a good dinner -fish, sweet potato and peas-Yesterday chicken, quinoa and broccoli and mushrooms but felt sick during the day. I couldn't keep my smoothie down this morning and only had lentil soup for lunch. I really need to go all out for dinner.

Me too! The first time I saw the ice scraper in the car I asked dh if it was some sort of back scratcher! :haha:

Chantal - EAT! You need to keep your strength up now. The old saying.. you're eating for 2 now! :haha: Seriously though, you need to make sure you get lots of good nutrients, not necessarily quantity, but quality food. I bet it is hard in the first trimester though, due to the nausea.

Ice scraper = back scratcher.. Too funny! But wait.. weren't you born in Canada?

Yes but I left Canada in 1978 so I guess I never saw an ice scraper or forgot since I was six years old :haha: I do remember snowshoes though as I had a tiny pair :winkwink:

In Barbados I had alot more appetite. We went to one of those Brazilian all you can eat buffets where they serve lots of meats. I avoided meat while I was ttcing but I ate more than dh and my dad :haha: They didnt make much money with me that night I don't think :haha: Even when the others were done and they were clearing plates I told them I wasn't done. I was so hungry all the time. I put on 4 pounds and lost it all back since my return :( I am worried that is not a good sign. Plus I would wake up at 3 am and then 5 am to pee and this morning didn't wake up at all till the alarm went..
