Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- yep, I let them paint, draw, play-dough, etc...but beads at this point are like marbles... a no-no! lol! They tried playing marbles but keep leaving them where Aeryn can get them :nope: They are good kids, it's been raining and they get stir-crazy! BTW- I agree with the assisted hatching. Your doc may view it as "oh well, missed it this time, try it next time 'but that's not how we as hopeful mothers view it!:growlmad: Re:coping as a single mom in her 40s. Um, yeah. You'll be awesome, no sweat! Mothering is natural-can be frustrating, but if you can run your pups to Pet Smart, doggy school, the beach, social events, the doctor, etc- you already know how to manage time unselfishly  The rest follows along. Your pups may be less than impressed though after babes comes :haha:

Babywhisperer- did you get to play any golf? Isn't it cold there? I think golf is ok as long as dh carries everything  My dh and I were lifting huge slabs of flagstone :dohh: with Kat

Sams- :hi: :bunny:
how are you today? Don't be bored! It's called RELAXING:haha:

Chantal- How are you? Has the cramping stopped? I am glad you are doing yoga, etc, it is good for body and mind  I should learn more. Can it be self--taught?

AFM- late night again! I went to bed early, just didn't get to sleep.........left the dishes and everything!:laugh2: Anyway, got up, made everyone breakfast (in my pj's  ) did dishes, made coffee, then blasted a shower  and had some yogurt and strawberries. Now, the dd's are dancing to Billy Idol :haha: and I am relaxing before my school assignment. BTW-Aeryn kisses now, lol. She grabs your cheeks -hard, ouch- pulls your face in and tongues you all over :laugh2: :haha: silly baby.

Thanks Coy - I just worry that I won't be able to 'tap out' like normal mothers can. They can hand baby off to DH for a little while to get that much needed rest. That is why I'm fairly certain I will need some additional help. Just to get some ZEN time. That and I have seen my friends run errands with kids in tow and it takes at least 1.5 times longer possibly even more to get them done. So that is a worry too. It is not like I can leave them at home with DH while I get the errands done :nope: Otherwise I think I will be a great mom, it is just a little daunting thinking I'm the only one ultimately responsible for any children I have :argh:

BabyWhisperer - OMG I meant to tell you NOT to go golfing. EEK! You are right in that window where you are implanting. I wouldn't do any strenuous stuff during that period, if DH carried your clubs, you should be OK. I know IUI is different than IVF, but they still told me not to do anything strenuous during the 2WW and not lift anything more than 10 lbs. I think more of that was due to the enlarged ovaries, and the increased threat of damage to them, which has nothing to do with implantation. So if you did go golfing, then I hope you had fun! I doubt it would cause you any trouble  Just try to relax definitely NO STRESS, at least until 8-9DPO.

AFM - Trying to get myself energized to do some touchup painting, and then have a shower and run out to do some errands. I was going to do some gardening but the pollen count is super high here today, and I woke up with puffy eyes and a stuffed nose, so I thought it best not to make things even worse by gardening. My Mom said she would come down next weekend and we'll get the garden whipped into shape

Hey Everyone!!! :hi:

Angel - How are you feeling? We haven't seen a post recently.. Hoping things are going well at your Mom's and that your DH is starting to come around. Give us an update if you can, inquiring minds want to know how you are doing and feeling

I'm still in the throes of first trimester woefullness Ali :dohh:. Hopefully a good sign this time but it means that I have absolutely no energy or concentration to post girls, sorry:flower::hugs:. I refuse to complain. I've actaully counted up that I have been having first trimester symptoms off and on for 9 months out of the past 15months so I think my body is really beginning to hate feeling this way . I feel so run down and familiar feeling like this that I am contemplating that this will be the last time as I can't face feeling like this again.

Although I'm glad to say I can now eat again, I went through about 5 days that I couldnt even keep water down, it was dreadful. I also took a reaction to the antibiotics I was on for a UTI and chest infection so I was feeling very sorry for myself last week! I'm now at the eat all I can phase to keep the nausea away so I feel a bit better:thumbup:.

My next scan is on Thursday, a nervous one for me as I should be just over 9 weeks, crunch time...

I moved back home a couple of days ago on the proviso that DH attends his GP and starts AA. The ball is in his court now. Things are strained, especially as I'm grumpy and hormonal anyway so we're giving each other a wide bearth at the moment.

I'm reading ladies and hopefully normal service will resume with me shortly. Thinking of you all xo:hugs::kiss::hugs:

Angel - so good to hear from you!! I'm really hoping that your appointment goes well on Thursday. Please don't forget to update us.. We are all hoping that it goes swimmingly

I'm also glad that you and DH are making progress. That he is going to go to AA and speak to his GP. That is great  Rome wasn't built in a day, and your marriage has had some stresses for a while, so it will take time for you both to fall into step again. So don't sell yourself short, you have made some great strides, and so has your DH!!

Never having been pregnant I don't know what the tiredness feels like but I can tell you that being on progesterone supplementation and stim meds for 7 of the last 10 months I can imagine it is not fun :nope: So here is to getting you through the first trimester successfully, and to me getting into the first trimester :happydance:

I agree with Coy, you will be a natural when it comes to being a mom, Chinese juggler, working class hero...have faith.

No golf, it's so windy here it sounds like a freight train next to the house.

Just been folding laundry and researching real estate here and in Denver, reading up on neighborhoods...I LOVE looking at homes.

Yeah, all is still moving ahead for you and all fronts. Glad you can eat, maybe the ms is behind you, or soon to be. GL on the scan and def let us know how it went, but I'm sure you will be fine.

As for dh, good for you and staying strong, hopefully he gets the message and stays committed to getting back on track to a healthier life for him, healthier marriage for you two, and more stable environment for children. I admire how you have stuck to your guns!

Stay well :hugs:

Thanks! Sometimes I stress myself out too much  I guess that is part of being a Mom! :haha: Worrying about your kids 24/7.

OHH.. I love looking at homes too, and seeing the promise in it, and what I would do. Looking at how other people live, I'm so nosey :haha:

I lived in the Denver metro for 7 years, so I know it well. Personally if I were to move back I would want to be in Cherry Creek, Greenwood Village or there is a small area just west of the Denver Tech Center between Bellview and Arapahoe(N-S) and Yosemite and Peoria (W-E), or possibly old Littleton. Those would be the areas I would target if I were to move back to Denver. I lived in Highlands Ranch, and it was great, but lacking the older home character that I think I would like in my next house.

Hi Angel! So glad to hear from you :hugs: all awesome news. REST! :winkwink:

Baby- glad you skipped golfing...you need to rest too!

Ali- stop worrying :hugs:

AFM- Ok, so I run to the store to grab some items and get totally wrapped up in looking at little girl clothes--these gorgeous frothy outfits, tanks, dresses :cloud9: Then, as I step out into the wind and rain I realize (drumroll) my tire has been slashed.

Again.

:sad1:

I'm kicking someone's ass!! Who keeps doing that? Are you parked anywhere near cameras?? I'd check, if there are file a complaint and ask to see video. Sorry Hun.

No golf, seriously windy. This Tuesday it's going to be 79!! From 40s to 50s to 70s in a week. Crazy.

Ali so far we've liked homes in Cherry Creek, Hilltop, Country Club, University Hills. I need to read more about each neighborhood. But for around 800k you get a 4000+sqft palace with a gym, wine cellar, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms and fireplaces, some have another kitchen/bar in the basement, walk in closets and property taxes are like 5k. A million in my town is probably 3-4 bdrms, 2.5 bathrooms under 2500sqft and taxes closer to 20k, small closets, on less than half acre, needing updating throughout, and probably on a bad street....not worth it. It's absurd how expensive it's become here. Low interest rates inflated real estate for 30years and compensation has not kept pace. So dh and I are seriously considering leaving the most expensive area to live in favor of CO since he loves it there. I wish he'd consider North Carolina as jobs would be easier for me to find. And I would really miss the ocean. But no plans until we have a baby and I finish my contract in Oct 2015 unless we open this office in Cherry Creek. Crossing fingers for that.

Coy- WTF!!!!!! Who could not like you? and why do they keep doing this? Vendetta!??????? I hope you filed a report and if you didn't please consider it!

Alicatt- You'll make a wonderful mom! I'm sending baby dust your way! I think I'm going to wait this cycle out and recover. I keep saying I'm going to workout... I'm getting myself there, but not there yet.

Angel- I'm glad your \okay and you've set the tone with DH! Hope you are feeling okay.

Chantal- How are you doing?

Babywhisperer- That's some budget! You must be on the north shore! I can't afford it there. :dohh: and it is becoming ridiculous! It was not as warm as they said it would be today, I would say it would be pretty chilly outside for golfing.

AFM- So I started the metmorphin last night. It makes me eat less. I get a little nauseous taking it. I think I'm going to recover a bit this cycle. I haven't Ovulated yet.... weird. At least I don't think I have. I think I'm going to go for another cycle the end of May. Hopefully, I'll drop some lbs before the cycle.

I'm going to San Fran next week, can't wait! Since I didn't get my BFP, I'm going to plan my trip to Europe for August, because even it I get a positive in May I still can go!:happydance::happydance::happydance:

I love San Fran!!! Yeah we live on the NS and it's absurd, but I need the best commute to the city as I have to be at work at 7am. I wish we could move further east to CSH Or Huntington, but my commute would be 3hrs a day and I can't live like that...esp not if I get my bfp. And as far as budget, we'd be eating ramen noodles for 20yrs to live here! So unless my industry stabilizes, I can't see buying a home here. Where on LI are you?

BabyWhisperer.. Denver is great and there are plenty of water type sports you can do there.. kayaking, fishing and other things like that in the rivers. There is plenty of green space built into each of the neighborhoods and bike trails galore!

Plus as you said you could get a decent house in Denver for a fraction of the price of LI. I wish the housing market here would rebound, I'm under water on
it, but it is improving! I am hoping to move back to either CO or maybe Canada at some point, but for now I'm stuck here. I guess there are worse places to be stuck!

Sams.. it's very common for your body to be off kilter for a few weeks and for your cycle to be delayed. It is good to give your body a break and let it recover. So waiting might be a good idea!

AFM.. I did some painting, bought a rug, and hung some art! The rest of the day was spent relaxing!! Gotta psych myself up for tomorrow morning!

Babywhisperer. Im on the south shore, not by choice, but by profession. My family is exactly where you are looking. Its beautiful up there, but the middle class has been pushed out by the taxes, not that my taxes are any cheaper!!!!! Im also going to napa and sonoma. I cant wait.

Alicatt. I hear you. Hopefully, my body kicks back into gear. Sounds like you had a busy weekend. I had a very lazy weekend for a change.

Sams!! Jealous! Napa and Sonoma? Fun!! I loved the wine at V Sattui in Napa, in particular a rose (ya I know.. rose? ick) but it was so yummy! I believe they call it Gamay Rouge.. course I was there years ago so who knows if they still have it? Have a great time and enjoy!!!

I think I sounded busier than I was.. there was a lot of lounging done today!!

:haha:  I just realized that I was burping Zach! I often pick him up in the same position as you might a baby to burp him!! Poor Zach.. :haha:

Ali- lol!!! bet he loved it :winkwink:

Re:my tire. yes called PD...filed a report...now I want a new tire! :growlmad:

Glad you filed a report.. personally they should be doing more. Clearly someone is persecuting you and for what?

Does anyone else have music that they use as anthems? Whenever I'm making huge changes or an end to a period in my life ends I find myself listening to Green Day.. Good Riddance (Time of your Life). Lately though I've been listening to Carry On by Fun. I find it helps get uplift me and get me motivated to keep pushing forward. The only thing that bothers me about the song is how commercialized the song has become. Oh well I do enjoy it.

Night ladies I have an early morning appt for my biopsy. A few ladies on the IVF thread have calmed my nerves.. wheee!
