Sams - Someone said that it is not good to travel in your first or third trimester. I have no idea why? Maybe something about cabin pressure or maybe sitting for so long? Or maybe it is just an old wives tale? IDK. Just passing it along for what it is worth (which may be nothing).
Another factor you need to consider is if you are pregnant the first few weeks you have BETA's and US's at your FS office, and they won't release you to your OB until they feel that the pregnancy has progressed and you are not having any complications. That could be 1-2 weeks after finding out you are pregnant, or it could be longer. Just depends on the BETA's and whether they can see the pregnancy in your uterus, etc.
Then once you get handed off to your OB, there are tests they will want to run. Things like CVS, to check for downs and a few others. So I would go look at a website that shows all of that information. This is the site I've been using to figure out timing for things: https://www.ivf.ca/duedate.php (only I've been looking at their FET 5-day calculator). So you just plug in the estimated transfer date, and voila! You have the timing for each test!
If you aren't travelling until August, that sounds like it would be fine, as you should be in your second trimester by then! Just be careful on the plane, get up and walk around ever few hours. If the flight attendants question you then tell them you are pregnant, and don't want blood clots! They are rare, but I think the risk is increased when flying.
There.. my 2 cents for what they are worth.. probably just about 2 cents!!
