Phil- how are you? I hope you are feeling well...has ms set in hard yet?? :hugs: Keep us updated! :)

Tested with an FRER last night and BFN. I am 6 days away from AF (Monday) so I am not going to test again until maybe Friday. I am sick of literally pissing money down the drain on these test..lol and I only have one CBE Digital left

Aww, I feel badof or you but in a big way this is a blessing! Have you consulted with doc yet about the pregnancy? What do you think about progesterone supps just in case? This is the critical moment according to my doctor, from now until about 11-12 weeks. The suppositories are a little bit messy (gotta wear panty liners for an hour or so is all) but I am sooo glad at this point that I did it.

Try saltine crackers and just sip on water! It's best to avoid full meals...Also I found that calcium bicarbonate (TUMS) helps wonders as I think most of ms is acid back up from all the hormones, etc. That's why the crackers help so much. No perfect cure or fix but it helps and doesn't last long!
Hey Grey Eyes- I can't believe that you are almost 17 weeks!! Time is just flying by I have to say!!:flower: Can't wait for you to find out the gender. Have you felt the baby kick yet? I remember how amazing that felt. Oh I can't wait for it again.
Sorry you're feeling so sick Phil but as Grey eyes says it is a blessing for sure:wacko:

Marathongirl- I am checking out your temps and Eeek! another temp rise today :happydance: I said to heck with not symptom spotting :dohh:

Thanks Grey eyes!! Feeling about the same as I always do at this point but I know when I got my last BFP the symptoms didn't start until about 10-11 dpo. Anyways my temps seem a bit higher this cycle for sure so who knows? My little icons don't seem to be working? Anyways yes I just took the Robotussin from cd10-15 to thin out my cm. Hopefully I won't have to use it again!!
How are you today?? Are you still remodeling your house?? Lol!

Working on it! :haha: Actually, today and yesterday I have been working out in the yard. I finally found my weed cutter batteries and charger after days of searching (they were right there on the shelf :dohh: Baby Brain!) so I have been cutting weeds like crazy. Still have the back yard to do...:(

Right now I am working on dinner, it is windy here today and cooling this evening so will make chicken and mashed potatoes (my girls go gonzo for that for some reason ).

BUT I am planning on re-doing my two little girl's room...I decided to do something special for them since the baby is on the way- don't want them feeling left out. So they have these huge white closet doors that open from the center out...I am going to paint a mural (sp) of a huge castle, sort of fairy style with flowers and trees, etc. Then I have this princess canopy that I want to pitch over it sort of like curtains to a window...make it look like a fairy princess view :) Hopefully it turns out right. I am a fairly decent artist (I used to paint portraits and landscapes for aliving) so I think I can do it :haha:
Wow that sounds really awesome! I am so not artistic so that sounds like a huge job to me! Please post a picture when you're done I would love to see it!! Have a great night. Hopefully I can curl up with dh and watch CSI from yesterday(taped)

Marathongirl- you like to watch CSI? I like shows like that also, my favorite at the moment is Person of Interest :cloud9: I would hate to miss it, lol. After that I usually watch NCIS, etc...

Hope you ladies are doing okay today! Phil- how are you feeling?? It will pass ina few weeks, you're a otugh lady! :)

Doing well thanks! Super busy so haven't been on in a few days. Will wait and see what temp does in the next few days before I decide of I will test or not.
What will you do for Mother's Day???

Hello Ladies,

I'm new here. Thank you all for the information, for sharing your stories, and for the good vibes. I have been lurking for a while and have some questions.

1) What's wrong with using morning pee for OPK? I've been doing that for a couple months and getting 1-2 days of positives.

2) I rarely get EWCM; does that mean that my cervix is not a friendly place?

3) Regarding #2, I'm curious about people's general impressions of the Robutussin/Musinex approach and the Pre-Seed approach. I realize there are lots of anecdotes on this site and others, but does anyone have a general impression of there effectiveness (as well as dosages)?

Thank you!

Hi FirstTry! Welcome to the forum!

I don't have any experience with the robitussin/musinex approach, but as for the FMU and OPK's.... what my doc told me was that the way the luteinizing hormone metabolizes in the urine, you are more likely to get a positve result between 10am and 4pm.... this last time, we were scheduled for an IUI (skip over any cm issues!) and I didn't want to miss my positive opk result. Previously, I wasn't getting any consistent results with opks.... SO I went overboard and did multiple opks throughout the day... the day I got my first positive it wasn't until about 11am. AND I can tell you that I was using a bunch of different ones (5 in total) and 3 went positive within 2 hours of each other and the other 2 never did.... so they aren't infallible... some are duds... Long story short, we got the positive opk and went in for the IUI the next day and here I am.... :cloud9:
We were diagnosed with 'Unexplained Infertility' which essentially means DH has rockstar sperm, and my tubes are open and I'm ovulating but they don't know why we weren't conceiving... it could very well have been related to my cm... and with IUI we skipped over all of that....

Hope that helps you!!

AFM.... I had my bookclub over on Friday and one of my ladies happens to be a gp... I was telling them my morning sickness woes and she took a look at my prenatal vitamins (I'm on PregVit) and said I should try swapping the morning pill for the evening and vice versa.... the iron in the morning one might be what's making me queasy... Here's hoping it's as easy as that!

Still really tired a lot of the time, but the vivid dreams are getting quite entertaining!
More later when I'm able!

Hope you are all doing well.... Marathongirl how are you today?? when are you going to test?? *fingers crossed*
GreyEyes.... send some of your energy this way!!

How is everyone doing this weekend??
phil.

Thank you, Grey Eyes and Philomena! And congrats on the BFPs!

I'm 37 and got married two months ago. This is our second cycle trying. I'm excited and happy, but not anxious, which is good, I think. My assumption is that I'm older, so we might need help. That way, I won't be disappointed if this doesn't happen au naturel. We are going to try for 3 months with no help and then, maybe, follow Philomena down the IUI track.

I jumped right in with the OPK LH tests every morning and have gotten clearly positive results on 2 days the first month and 1 day the second month (I experimented with OPKs for one month 2 years ago and got 4 days of +). I generally use FMU, but tried the afternoon one day this month. There's never a 2 hour period when I don't drink and don't pee, so I'm just going to stick with FMU for now.

The + came a bit early this month. I usually have a 30-31 day cycle. Last month, I had a 33 day cycle (unusually long) and positive OPKs on CD17 & CD18. This month, I had a positive OPK on CD13. I figured it was a fluke, but then my BBT went up yesterday and today (CD15 & 16). So, that means I probably O'd already, right?

We BD'd every night (yes, almost always at night - does it make a difference?) except for CD11 (which is kind of a bummer to have missed, in retrospect, as it was right in the fertile window). I also started taking Tussin (generic Robitussin that has a fun name to say!) this month.

I guess we'll keep up the BD work for the next week, just in case (that wouldn't hurt anything, right?). And start the TWW!

Yes, I would say that you very likely ovulated on CD14! So Yay!for the tww! :happydance: And not bd'ing on CD11 is no big deal as sperm lives for up to 5 adys in the cervix...Oh, btw, I forgot to mention earlier about the cm...EWCM can very easily exist within your cervix but never show...in other words, just because you don't see it doesn't mean that it's not there. But if you are getting tons of cm and it is super thick and sticky then the Tussin will help with that :) And it doesn't matter what time of day or night you bd as long as you bd! So you are officially in the tww--can't wait to see your results:) Are you charting your temp with FertilityFriend so we can see your charts too? I tried it for a month and was going to continue but got my bfp so figured  Fx'd!
Hello Ladies and welcome to our newbie. The women on here are amazing so you are in good hands!
Grey eyes- how are you and what are you up to today?? I know it's something or should I say some big thing!!!
Phil- good to see you. Hope switching the vita helps!
AFM- enjoying a more mellow day with the kids. Yesterday I hit the ground running at 6am and didn't stop til 11 or so. Feeling tired today.
