Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

ARGH! 3:30am! I'm up  I need more sleep but alas I'm wide awake!
Dogs woke me, then the need to pee, then the realization that I forgot to do my PIO shot! Now that is all done, whew! Heartburn and slight nausea, gotta love it!
I go into see my FS tomorrow to get another beta, then again on Tuesday. I'll get the results at 2-3pm. Then I'm going out for a special dinner with Vladimir after work! I'm so happy, the weekend is upon us and it is promising to be a fabulous weekend!

Grey Eyes.. no testing until at least Sunday! Wouldn't it be amazing if you were pregnant? Then you'd be about 5 days behind me and a week behing Chantal! I figured it out, I'm about 5-6 weeks behind BabyWhisperer, and about 11 weeks behind Angel!

I guess that means our thread has a baby due in mid-November, mid-December, and 2 in late January! So you could have early February!

Never.. good news though that you have a good beta for 14 dpo!
Yes.. how is everyone else doing? BabyWhisperer and Angel our other pregnant ladies!
Sams? Melly? I know Melly was talking OPK a few days ago, how about SAMs?
Grey Eyes.. definitely need to test in a few days!

AFM.. work was pants today.. I'm beat! Feeding doggies and I swear I just want to go to bed! BETA # 2 tomorrow, should have the results around 2-3pm EST. Otherwise I have some cramping and heartburn and nausea. It's all quite mild though.. so that is good

:hugs: :dust:

Hey ladies, wonderful betas all around. This makes me so happy!!

Ali I am picturing you taking each of your betas, using a formula on a spreadsheet, extrapolating it to find out what your numbers should be going forward and making a pie chart. Relax. Even I have decided that everything I can do I am doing. The rest is out of my control. And speaking of control, I came home passed out on the couch in an instant and woke up feeling like I had been on one too many amusement park rides. How can I lessen the nausea and queasiness when it comes on out of nowhere! I'm sleepy today but so grateful for a 3 day weekend. I'm going into work as I gave 2 other guys off. Hopefully they remember me taking one for the team, hahahaha doubtful.

Coy test!!!

Ok need to put my phone down on the train, getting motion sick.

Ali. So excited... Relax and dont stress. Find something else to focus on (yeah right). Have fun with Vladmir this weekend. Im exhausted from working. Keep saying I have to lose weight and I just keep eating.

Chantal. Cant wait for your beta

Babywhisper. So exciting....the heartbeat!!!

Hi PHIL!!!!

Coy. Thanks for looking out for me. I have no hope..my chart is below. How are you doing.

Afm. I went for a massage yesterday andtoday my back is so sore.

Hey ladies.. I'm doing fine, just a POAS addict! :haha: I need more FRER's! I had to test with a CBE early result this morning, but the test line is as dark as the control on it so that is encouraging!
I guess I just can't believe it yet? I'm really pregnant. Then I hear about chemicals and blighted ovum and all the other things that can go wrong and I can't help but be cautious.
In about 7 hours I'll have the results of a second beta which will make me feel better and if that doesn't then dinner at a 4 star restaurant tonight will! Apparently they serve this fried lobster that is to die for! Mmmm! So I'm thinking that and a filet mingnon, and I'll be one happy camper!

SAMs.. I hope you are doing well! I wouldn't sweat your eating habits too
much right now. You sound like me when it comes to trying to diet! I always fail, because I make too many changes too fast. Then I can't keep it up and BAM! I quit. Try to make small changes each week. Identify the worst things in your diet.. soda, fried food, dessert, etc. Take one of those items in your diet and supplement with something healthy. I found this Izze-esque drink at whole foods.. it's a soda with no added sugar. It comes in mandarin, black raspberry and watermelon flavors. The entire bottle has just 15g carbs and is super refreshing! So I've replaced my soda needs with this other drink. Sure I still want a coke on occasion, but these drinks help! You can do it.. just try baby steps.

BabyWhisperer.. sorry you have to work today.. if its any consolation so do I! I don't want to get out of bed, but I have to so I can make my FS appt. The good news is that we have a 3 day weekend so hopefully we'll get some rest! MS.. I have it too  I hear saltines, ginger ale or ginger tea can help. If it gets really bad I think you can take zofran. I'd start with ginger, and crackers first though.

OK.. gotta get in the shower!

Good morning ladies!

Ali- woohoo! :yipee: you and Vladamir going out to a romantic dinner. You are going to have a blast this Memorial weekend !! That's what I had to celebrate beta the other night, lobster tails, but I had 2 tails instead of the surf an turf because I don't eat steak too often since it increases fibrocystic breast pain and endo and I think fibroids and I have a 2cm 1 but thank God it isn't in my uterus. I know you will have a great beta number today:)

Babywhisperer- how nice of you to cover for employees so they can have a day off. I love amusement park rides! Your comment reminded me I cannot go to any this summer. Last 4th July spent the day at Hershey park and they had a spectacular fireworks display.

Samsfan- you need to get some hpt's so you can :test:when :af: is late! Your chart looks fine to me. I don't see the drop you are referring to  No temps below coverline. :dust:

Grey Eyes- Memorial day would be a great day for a bfp! :dust:

Phil- hope you were able to get some sleep with Saria teething. At least if 3 teeth come up at once, the teething process will go faster :)

Melly- Hope that you and your dh bd'd over the last few days or as you say "had fun practicing" :dust: How was the Paul McCartney concert?

Angel can't wait to see your next scan pic :hugs:

Afm: Woke up all energetic again and had to coax dh out of bed. First thing as I wake up I always drink 2 glasses of water. Nausea hit me and I am now nibbling on some crackers instead of having turkey bacon and eggs like I had planned :nope: I wasnt the first at lapcorp so had to wait a bit and it was 8:15am by the time I had my beta drawn. The phlebotomist there always seem so grumpy. So I chatted with the lady who drew my blood. All of a sudden she asked where I was from and I said "Canadian, lived most of my life in Barbados. Now here" Her demeanor changed instantly and she smiled and said I just knew you weren't from Maryland! I asked "My accent?" She replied " No you just have this positive friendly energy and I can feel it." She explained that she is into meditation, tai-chi and that she can sense people's energies. She asked me why I was having blood tests 2 days apart. When I said it was a beta she congratulated me and asked if it was my first pregnancy. When I told her she shook her head and said no miscarriages this time! Three time's the charm!

I think she's right.... the energy is just different this time! Sending you all sorts of positive energy.... waiting until Tuesday for the second beta is going to be hard, but just hang out on cloud 9 until the results come in, then set up camp on cloud 9 for the next 9 months!!

So happy to see so many BFP's!! Glad you are doing well, BabyWhisperer, and Angel.... the exhaustion passes after the first trimester.... well, it gets better anyways... I found I did best in the second trimester- got some energy back....
As for MS- for me it came and went and I could never predict.... although I craved chinese food about 5 times, it sent me running to the bathroom with MS every time.... not fun.... :dohh:

AFM : I had a long chat with the pharmacist at Sobey's last night about The Wee Babe's teething issues... with DD#1 I remember using a gel on her gums to numb them but was having trouble finding any this time.... The pharmacist said paediatricians are no longer recommending the numbing gels as too many babies were swallowing their tongues and choking! Ok, so that's off the list!! So she said I should try some Infant Advil - we ended up buying Infant Motrin (same active ingredient but more cost effective) and not only did Saria have a good night, she's slept well and woken up happy!! Yay!
No teeth poking through yet, but when I stuck my finger in, I could tell the swelling is way down.... poor monkey.... it must've been so uncomfortable!
well, off to start my day!
Hope this finds all my bnb ladies doing well today!
phil.

Yeah! Chantal!! Love the spoiler!!! :happydance: Sounds like you are in a good spot right now and are moving right along!

I had my blood taken this morning and it went well. The nurse was way nicer and said they were happy with where my beta was for this early, she said they were actually surprised that it was as high :dohh: LOL. Maybe she was just saying that? Oh and I asked her what my progesterone was since they were so wrapped up in my beta they forgot to tell me on Wednesday. Anyway it was 47! :wohoo: So I think things are looking good! :happydance:

Got an email from V this morning, he is excited for me and looking forward to dinner tonight! :yipee:

I'm having nasty nausea and heartburn. FUN! It is OK, that is a good sign!

:dust:

Ali I think that beta for 12 dpo is quite high too! I am thinking twins for you :happydance:

Just had to share this:

This is a lucky thread. I hope some of it rubs off on me. Im not testing until Tues or Wed if AF doesnt show up before then. Im cd25 right now. 4 more days till my period is due.. Congratulations to all the BFP on this thread.

I agree...the good energy is with you and it's your time. I know it! :happydance::happydance:

Happy to see everyone's beta is good. WooHoo!! You all are making me so happy...I love seeing these BFPs. I think Grey Eyes is next. My little prediction for the day.

I think I need a better OPK. I'm pretty sure I ovulated in the past few days, and yes, we did take up that opportunity...why not. I'm just not exactly sure when I did...as I would test positive in the morning, and then the next day it was negative, so who knows.
BTW: Paul McCartney was AMAZING! Wow...I got to see a Beatle! :happydance:

AFM- hm, I am writing this note separate then will copy it into bnb....I haven't read any posts as per the writing of this so I am going to go back and READ! lol Let's see, today I guess I am about 9dpo? Ali says I have to wait until Sunday at least to test :sad2: so I guess I will :haha: I am actually thinking of waiting until Monday just to be on the "safe" side. At first I was of the mind of NTNP...then I started leaning more toward TTC when I started seeing all of your bfp's! You ladies are making me crazy! :haha:  lol.....so many bfp's on this thread, I love it! Anyway, on that note- symptoms: not much, I mean dtd appropriately with positive opk, ewcm, etc, aside from that...just some pains inmy uterus area that would coincide with implantation dates and since then a very tight full feeling in my uterus/cervix. Not sure what that means? But slightly uncomfortable. So who knows? I will be stunned if I am preggo. I have 2 FRER's just need to decide when to use them.

I have also turned over a slightly different leaf in regard to my body. I am making a conscious effort to NOT make self-depreciating (even joking) comments about my body. I realize most times I am just joking but who do I owe it to be perfect? Nobody. So I am going to be comfortable with what my body is atm. Btw- I tried on a pair of my favorite jeans a month ago and couldn't get them past my thighs!~:sad2: But I tried them on today and they fit :body: :happydance: :smug: lol, so I am happy about that.
I have been introducing new foods to Aeryn- slowly. She is getting green beans, squash, and today we tried bananas...what faces she makes! :haha: lol, but she will get used to the flavors. I dilute new foods with her rice cereal which seems to help

Good morning ladies :flower:

Ali- so...your beta is today?? lol you poor thing getting woken at that hour! grr! :trouble: tell'em pups to chase lizards after the sun comes up :haha: Oh re:your dinner tonight...skip the seafood !!! :nope: I just want you to be extra cautious...the filet mignon sounds perfect  Too funny about poas'ing :haha: You're as bad as I am (maybe worse, lol) :shhh:

Babywhisperer- tips on lessening the nausea...yes, it comes out of nowhere so try to be prepared. Carry crackers and snack on them every 15 minutes or so even if you don't feel like it...maybe pack a Ziploc or something with oyster crackers? Then- never leave home w/o calcium based Tums  Pop one every now and then to reduce acid. It's the acid that causes the nausea in a huge way :nope:

Sams- nuh-uh, you are still above your cover line! I understand your feeling though. And I want you to take a page out of my book and stop battering your body image! You're beautiful and in no way is your weight threatening  Be nice to you :) I agree w/Ali- just knock out a few things like heavy soda's...small steps :hugs: make huge differences! Go enjoy that massage!

Chantal - how are you feeling? Did you ever post how your dh reacted when you told him you were preggo? If so, I missed it :nope:

Phil- I use the gel -just a tiny bit- when it is bad but also use infant Motrin  Works awesome! Btw- scary about the gel :saywhat: The other day I didn't realize I had the residue on my finger and wiped my lip. Heheh- couldn't feel it for an hour :haha: So thanks for the heads-up! I will much more careful.

JandK- fx'd hon! :dust: :dust:

Melly- sounds like perfect timing! :happydance: Oooo I would love to see P McCartney in concert! yay!

Angel- where are you? I miss you :sadangel:

JandK.. really hoping you get a BFP!!!

Grey Eyes.. you make me laugh! I am addicted to POAS! LOL  you are right!

AFM.. got my beta.. not very happy.. it is only 57.. it went up, but not by much  I hear it needs to double every 48-72 hours and it is in there at 64 but in my gut I am concerned.

Ali, nothing about getting pregnant is an exact science.... It's going up! What did your fs say about it? I would be surprised if they were concerned.....

Deep breaths, Ali!

They said it was fine, and doubling appropriately. Apparently early on in pregnancy it doesn't double as quickly as it does once it hits 100 or so, once it gets a little higher it will double faster, then it slows down again at about 1200. Or so they say. I'll keep the faith, just cautious.

Ali your beta of 57 is great. Under 1200 mIU/ml you are in the correct range of 31-72 hours. Yes have faith. This is your time girl! Have fun celebrating tonight!

Angel-I hope you have a restful weekend! You deserve it:thumbup: Your body has been working hard! :hugs:

Melly- That is awesome seeing a Beetle in person! I saw U2 for the first time in 2012 right after my second ivf transfer. I have always wanted to see them in concert and it was awesome!

Jandk- :dust:

Samsfan- don't forget to look back a few pages. I wrote you a message earlier ;) We miss you!

Grey Eyes - I am happy to hear you say that you are not going to be so hard on yourself and body image! You look awesome :) Since dh had left at 5:45 am I had to wait the whole day to tell him. Whe he phoned to say he was on his way home he asked how was my day and I said "fine" :haha: He had a had a crappy day so I thought oh I am going to change that! I made him a card and drew a cartoon :spermy: and ovum High-fiving eachother. (He is always high-fiving me so i knew he would love it ) I stuck it in the mailbox cuz he always checks the :mail: when he arrives home. I was trying to film his reaction from the window between the blinds. He saw me and asked what are you doing and just stood there! :haha: I continued filming anyway opening the door. Then he opened the mailbox like he expected something would jump out at him!! I was laughing so hard I couldnt keep the camera steady. When he saw the card he got teary eyed and looked at me and smiled and said nuh-uh! I said uh-huh and gave him a  We went to Outback for lobster. Get this. We were seated at the same booth as Valentine's night when I got the last :bfp:! I had deja vue!!

Have a safe and fun Memorial day weekend everyone :)

What a great story! I love it!

thanks Philomena. Forgot to mention that I got more than teary eyed I cried  tears of joy!

Aw, great story Chantal! :hugs:

Ali- it's all good, I agree w/Phil--pregnancy is not an exact science.
