How are you feeling girl?? I'm excited for the results of your beta!

Afm, had my appt with the new ob and all is well with the bean. I got nervous for a minute when it took a while to find the heartbeat which is up to 164bpm now. I have the NT test in 2 weeks then see him 2 weeks after that. I will see him every 5 weeks until 28weeks, then every 2 weeks and then every week as we get closer to EDD. With each ap

YAY! Wonderful news BabyWhisperer! Sounds like you are well on the road to pregnancy bliss! So have they said when you will get to find out the sex? Or are you hoping to find out?

I think I'm having a boy.. not sure why but that is the feeling I have. LOL.

Babywhisperer I am happy that your scan went well with your new OB. You ladies are so lucky that you get such early and regular u/s with ivf. With a spontaneous bfp they don't give you your first one till 9 weeks. I only got an early one in March because I had complications due to bleeding. Hearing that heartbeat must be music to your ears girl! :hugs: I couldn't get a beta last time so I am happy she offered to do one right away.
I still feel exhausted and occasional bubbling/fluttering in my uterus but no other symptoms for now.

Thanks ladies! Chantal with IUI and IVF they are more vigilant with care, but they should also be that way after a loss. I would make an appt and request one while there. If they say no I would reconsider the Dr. A sono or u/s takes 2 minutes I don't see what the big deal is. I am praying for all of us that we have healthy pregnancies and that this thread I overflows with bfps!

I told my friend who is 15 weeks prego and she said she stopped the progesterone at 12 weeks and her cramps and multiple trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night stopped around 11-12 weeks. Cramping has been persistent and intense tonight, maybe after his poking around during the exam and sono.

We can find out sex after 10 weeks with a blood test or wait until a scan at 18-20 weeks. I haven't decided yet. I was thinking boy but I have waves of nausea here and there and the fhr has increased to over 160 so who knows. I just want a healthy baby!!

How are you ladies doing? Heading off to ZZZzzz

Is that the same test that can also check chromosome issues? Never mentioned it to me yesterday. I was thinking I would do that test too. If I get that far!

Chantal, I agree with Babywhisperer- maternal anxiety is a legitimate reason for extra scans... and following a loss, just to make sure its all on track....

Ali, we decided not to do any of the invasive genetic testing since our nt test came out just fine... the same odds as if I were 25 again.... and the odds of miscarrying with the amniocentesis were higher than my chances of having a baby with a genetic issue. I was 100% not going to terminate even if anything showed up so it didn't make sense for me to risk the baby.... but if the nt test came back differently I might have made a different choice...
So many choices for you guys now!! very exciting!!

The test I'm talking about is a blood test on the mother that somehow detects the babies DNA and can tell you the sex of the child and if there is an increased risk of downs. It's still quite new, but much less invasive than amnio! I'm hoping not to have to do that either! I guess we'll see how things go for now!

The Sequenome or MaterniT21 test can test for trisomy 13, 18, and 21 which is Downs. It can also test for the Y chromosome. The Dr yesterday said there have been false positives with that test and its standard protocol to have an amino after 16weeks for women over 35. I have the NT test in 2 weeks and may request the Sequenome test at my next appt but I don't know how I feel about the amnio. He said while there is some risk it's like .5% of mc. I might ask our family friend who is an obgyn and referred me to my RE at Cornell.

Yep! That's it! I have a gf who was 38.5 and just had a baby. She didn't need the amnio, they were able to tell her with pretty good odds that she was not having a chromosomally challenged baby through the NT scan and these blood tests. I think that if there had been any question after these tests then she would have had to consider the amnio. She has a beautiful baby girl now!

Good morning ladies!

I would like to contribute to this conversation. My cousin was 29 when she got pregnant with her first child. The amnio told her that she tested positive for trisomy. I no not recall which one, but I think 21-Down's syndrome. They councelled her and said an abortion would be best. She and her dh prayed and cried alot. They decided that God had sent them this child and they were going to keep her. She was born perfectly healthy! So the amnio and other tests can be wrong. She has mild autism so maybe that is what they saw on the test? They are so happy that they trusted God and did not end their baby's life. It is good to be prepared in case the tests are correct but often they are wrong!

That is interesting about the amnio picking up something but then the child was fine.. and your comment about her being mildly autistic. I've never head of that connection before  I figure I'm going to take each day as it comes and rely on my Dr for advice about this stuff. It is too soon to tell whether this will even be an issue. It is interesting to know that there are options beyond the amnio though! That makes me happy!

I could not tell that she is autistic at all. My cousin posted something on Fb about being the parent of an autistic child. That is why I think it must a very mild case

Ladies!! :hi:

Ali- where are you? How are you feeling today? Stay positive :hugs: You're preggo!

Chantal- how did your beta go???

Babywhisperer- loving reading your posts, how are you feeling today?

Melly- :hi:

Sams- hey girl! :hugs:

All ya'll-- :hi: :bunny:

AFM- eating like crazy lately, well not really, but always hungry  Thinking I am at 8dpo? Not much else atm :laugh2:

Hey.. I'm here..
Just tired and swamped at work.
I did a CBE Digital at 1pm today and it came up pregnant!!
I didn't realize that the Walgreens digital was actually a 25 miu/ml test. So it showed up sooner.
The CBE Digital is 50 miu/ml so at 1pm today my hCG level was at least 50, so it is increasing perfectly.
I go in tomorrow morning for another beta and will get those results at about 2pm tomorrow. [-o< the test shows at least 70! That would be perfect doubling
At this point I don't think me testing is going to help much other than to confirm that I'm still pregnant. So knowing me I will go get tests and keep testing. :haha:

Yes Ali relax please! I know it's really difficult and your mind goes into overdrive but do try:winkwink:

Chantal... Stalking for your beta :flower:

Just another tuppence worth regarding the screening tests we are offered. Remember that they mainly only detect the risk level for downs, spina bifida. If you do the test and results show you are in a higher risk bracket it doesn't mean your baby will have something wrong, just the maybe is slightly higher. I have always refused the tests as pregnancy itself for me is stressful enough and like Chantal's cousin I would rather not know and put my trust in God. At the end of the day I just thought why give myself the extra stress, I know the test is only a crude indication and I wouldn't abort anyway. If it happens we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. You get the tests between 16-20 weeks which could mean 20 weeks of sporting over perhaps nothing, or stressing uncontrollably if something does happen, the what if scenarios.

Coy, are you going to test in a couple of days?

Ali- sounds awesome! So happy you picked up another digi! :winkwink: Nothing like seeing that "pregnant" to confirm it in your mind :hugs:

Angel- me? Test? lol...well, I think I am only like 8dpo today but I had some odd cramping and such a weird tight feeling in my uterus the last 2-3 days-- Never know! So I asked dh to possibly pick up a test today while he is out........

Hello Ladies

Chantal- so happy for a fabulous beta! :happydance:

Ali- what's next for you--when do you scan or do another beta??

AFM- hm, not sure when to test. I think I am about 8dpo today, so Sunday would be 11dpo. Maybe I should wait for Monday? Dh went and bought me 2 frer's today :haha: so maybe :laugh2:
