Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Tonight my 3 year old pluncked down on the couch next to me and showed me the "pictures" she'd been coloring. I imediately grabbed the book and the pencil away from her and exclaimed "Oh, honey, you know you're not supposed to draw or color in your books!!!" And I proceeded to frantically try to "save" the book by erasing the colors and pencil markings. My 7 year old stood quietly next to me and finally asked quizzically "Mama...whatcha doing?" So I said "I am TRYING to fix this book your sister's been ruining!":growlmad: To which Teagen slowly responded, "....But...it's a coloring book..."

:dohh: :dohh: :nope: :dohh:  :dohh: :nope: :dohh: :nope: :dohh: :dohh:

I really don't feel like getting into the potty chair story. Yeah. The one where I forgot to assemble it before my 3 year old used it :nope: :nope:

So, it's 7DPO and my BBT plunged to pre-O level. What does that mean? Not PG?

if your 7dpo and have a temp dip it could be an implantation dip

Ali!! Where are you? How are you today? Talk to me!! :)

Ali!! Where are you? How are you today? Talk to me!! :)

Hey! I'm here! I took the morning off of work. Had to go do laser therapy (to quit smoking), I know its bad that I have been smoking at all. I just couldn't smoke one more knowing that I could be pregnant. So now I'm officially smoke free! YAY!

How are you doing? Symptoms?

I am not sure what to think of my cycle..

OD - was CD 17
I'm now 10 DPO, and most if not all symptoms have gone away? Is that normal? Is that possible?

Here are a few of the symptoms I still have but they are all pretty mild:

fatigue
slight cramping
lower back pain
light spotting (dark brown) but just a tiny bit
slight headache
appetite is back
sore bbs and nipps - but just barely
hot flash - new.. just seems to have come over me

I tested again this morning, and it was still BFN.. UGH. After the reading I did last night I realized that it probably will be until 14-16 DPO, especially if I only just implanted yesterday. Apparently HCG takes its sweet time getting into your urine, so a blood test is way faster, but even that won't show a positive until 3-4 days after implantation. Urine is closer to 4-5 days after implantation. So I have a few more days to suffer the waiting game I'm afraid..

Jessica.. how are you doing?

First reading was after 5 hours of sleep. I slept 3 more hours and my temp is back up. Thoughts?

Thank you.

Hi there- it could possibly be an implantation dip...That's what I am hazarding because it came back up....Or it could have beena fluke temp which is excessivley common! Don't count yourself out yet! Have you put your temps into Fertility Friend? They have a free trial and you can post you rlink on your signature so we can read your chart and have fun diagnosing lol :)

Ali- 10 dpo is still early and if you didn't test with a ferr it's likely the test won't picl it up if the hcg is rising. When I got my bfp on frer at 10 dpo it was a fain line...and nothing on other tests  So, not out yet lady! The brown spotting could be from implantation. Congrats on no more smoking! Way to go, I know it's tough- dh used to smoke years ago but when I got prego with our first dd he stopped cold turkey. You can do it!! :)

Jessica- how are you feeling today? 5-6 dpo? I would love to know your temps to see what's happening (drumming my fingers) lol

AFM- raining hard here today. Have the girls schedule for immunizations but I amthinking of waiting for some warmer days so they don't risk catching something when their systems are a bit compromised  Decisions decisions!

Hi ladies thanks for the support. I went to FS yesterday and he strongly recommended Femara with IUI. He said the Femara is like Clomid only better. I trust him and think I will go for it. I have nothing to lose at this point.

Hi Marathongirl!
When we went in for our post IUI check up with the FS and he asked us how everything was... we were both like the Clomid made me insane.... it was awful... made me grouchy and uncomfortable in my skin... I didn't like it at all. So he gave me a prescription for something else if we needed it for the next cycle and said it was just like clomid without the same side effects... so maybe it was Femara? I like that the clomid helped us conceive... but I'm glad we didn't have to do it again!! I want to stay married!!

Good Luck with the IUI et al.... I am rooting for you big time!!

Phil- yay! Glad to see you on again, I miss your updates! :) How are you feeling?

Hi Ali and Grey Eyes!

Ali--Just hang in there. You don't know until you know. So think positive. Good job on not smoking anymore!! I'm praying for you!!

I have zero symptoms. My cv is a bit thicker than it normally is. Not sure if that means anything. I am also extremely tired, but it is because I am finishing my master's and I am not getting the sleep I normally get. Other than that, everything is moving as slow as the TWW usually does.

Grey Eyes...stay warm and dry!! :)
I don't take my temp. I am not disciplined enough to remember to do it before I get out of bed. Any advice on that?

Jessica and Coy...

Jess...Sounds like you are doing just fine. Congrats on your master's that is awesome!! What about setting an alarm specifically for taking your temp? I am going to do that next month if this month ends with the :witch:

Coy.. thanks for your support and continued wisdom!! Hope the rain goes away and you guys get to go out and enjoy some fresh air!!

I am pretty positive today, I know that if I was implanting yesterday, which seems likely, then I probably won't get a BFP for another few days. Or :AF: arrives.

So I just need to keep the faith, and hope for the best!! I have always been a strong believer in fate and if I'm destined to have a baby this month then it will happen and if not, then I will keep trying :haha: Who am I kidding? I'm a nervous wreck

Don't you just love some of the emoticons they have on this site? Too funny! :happydance::sex::test::yipee:

Oh and last but not least.. :dust:

Um,..no. :haha: I had trouble myself! lol.

And are you doing online schooling or campus? What's your study in? Right now I am onlining my Bachelors (I started late, lol) and almost fininshed then on to Masters. Criminal studies.

Ali- in response to the emoticons..this one just is weird and maybe a little nasty...lol not sure

Check it out -:holly: It says holly but sure looks like a pair of bouncing bb's :haha:

Yikes! I must have missed that one. Yes, that just doesn't make much sense. In fact it is a little scary!?!?

I can't believe I now have to work until 9pm, I feel as if I'm going to face plant into my keyboard! Sooo tired. Just lay down with the doggies for a few seconds and I could have easily passed right out. There are perks to working from home, and having a day bed in your office!

What do you do from home? I would love to do that- and get paid of course! :)

Can't do the full quote reply for fear that the bouncing bbs will follow..they are scary!

I work as a data analyst for a Health Intelligence company our software makes Electronic Health Records (EHRs). That kind of stuff. I do have an office in the office, but get to work from home a few days a week. I'm hoping that they will let me do that more if I am pregnant or after the baby is born.
Lots of IT companies are letting people work remotely, saves the company office space, and saves the employee money on gas, and allows them to have the freedom to work in their PJs!! HEHE. I also like the extra hour of 'me' time I get because I'm not in the car driving to/from work.

I don't blame you- I used to have to commute to work and I hated it. 45 minutes each way, what a drag! When I lived in the bigger city it was unavoidable- always the freeway - bleh! :haha:

Oh, and yes, it is normal to have symptoms come and go. I think the only time it is worrisome is when you have full blown ms (morning sickness) after a confirmed pg and then the ms is just GONE, like a week and a half into it. Generally if you get ms it stays for 5-6 weeks or so. The theory is the hormones make you sick, then if they drop off suddenly that means no more hormones = no more ms. BUT in your case it is far too early for that to be a cause. :)
