Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

So, it's 7DPO and my BBT plunged to pre-O level. What does that mean? Not PG?

First reading was after 5 hours of sleep. I slept 3 more hours and my temp is back up. Thoughts?

Thank you.

Hi there- it could possibly be an implantation dip...That's what I am hazarding because it came back up....Or it could have beena fluke temp which is excessivley common! Don't count yourself out yet! Have you put your temps into Fertility Friend? They have a free trial and you can post you rlink on your signature so we can read your chart and have fun diagnosing lol :)

Thank you. I posted my chart link earlier, but will look into adding it to my signature.

In general, I don't know what my BBT post-O should look like. If it dips below the cover line and stays there, does that mean no PG? Or maybe low progesterone? Should i be hoping it stays high?

Before Ov it should stay int he 96- 97.0 range. After ovulation it may only rise by a few decimals, e.g. from post-Ov 96.0 - 96.7 to maybe 97.0 or even 96.8 etc. It fluctuates. If it dips below the line and stays there it doesn't necessarily mean no prego...but generally does go higher after implantation. Mine didn't go higher until, let's see...my chart shows pre-Ov at 96.5 fairly steady. Post-Ov was at 97.9 and stayed there for about 3 days. Then it raised to 98.0-98.1 until I got my bfp on 10 dpo- then I quit temping.

I don't take my temp. I am not disciplined enough to remember to do it before I get out of bed. Any advice on that?

Um,..no. :haha: I had trouble myself! lol.

And are you doing online schooling or campus? What's your study in? Right now I am onlining my Bachelors (I started late, lol) and almost fininshed then on to Masters. Criminal studies.

I actually went to school...Texas State University - San Marcos, TX
My bachelor's is in Public Administration and Political Communication. My Master's is in Public Administration with a legal and judicial focus.

So hopefully when I walk across the stage during graduation, my baby will be with me...:winkwink:

So, I have no symptoms. Wish I did. I'm trying to talk myself into believing that the sleepiness is a symptom, but I don't think so. What happens to CM after conception?

First off symptoms don't happen always and not always right away when they do happen...I didn't have anysymptoms until about 8 dpo...then it was just a stuffy nose  Afterwards it was fatigue, bone deep fatigue! lol.

CM after conception...1dpo I listed it as thick and creamy. It wa sscant for a while then at 14 dpo I listed it as showing a thin line of brownish/pinkish and thick. By 15 dpo my nose was very stuffy. That went away though :)

Hi ladies, been laying low, a lot for me to catch up on, some promising progress for some of you ladies and some new faces. :friends:

Well, now in the TWW, last week was the BD part, my temps were weird, they dropped suddenly but the OPK wasn't showing two lines, then I got two lines when my temp was going up.

Today my temp is really high! 36.99°C = 98.6°F, and I'm not sick.

So good to see all the OPK info, it's really a learning and try and see experience.

I tried the cheap ones until I was seeing double lines, then confirmed using CB. But in Singapore I couldn't find the happy face ones (are those the 'simple'?) only double lines. And things like thes are expensive here - a box of 5 store brand (Guardian) are about SGD $37 (= ~USD $22) and the ClearBlue are SGD $64 (= ~USD $50).

I have a separate topic so will put that in a separate post.

Good luck ladies, to all of us!

Ok here's my separate post.

As you know, or for the new ladies, at my age and poor egg quality, after the IVFs not working, we looked into other means. From this forum and others it became clear that DHEA should help. Plus Crystal, one of the ladies here (hi Crystal, long time! :flower:) has had good success she attributes to DHEA.

I've been taking it now for about a month or so. But a of friend of mine, she's Japanese, said that the information she has read about it on Japanese sites (the websites are all in Japanese so she has to explain it to me) tells of breast cancer risks.

Now, everything, if you search it on the internet, will show risks of one kind or another, from everything from vitamins to fresh air, so it's really hard to know what to believe. She says that in Japan DHEA became popular for a variety of uses, but they stopped using it due to concerns on breast cancer there.

So now I'm in a huge quandary - I've become convinced long ago that DHEA was our best hope, and of course I don't want to risk (I don't even want to say it). Need more information.

Looks like I will have a lot of Googling to do this weekend.....

Congrats on the schooling, and graduation, FX'd that your baby is with you too!!

I've been using the ClearBlue ones, with the happy face. They are expensive here too. I think I paid $45 for them at the drugstore. I like them because you get both the lines and the happy face all in one package. Once it is finished testing you pull the strip out of the reader and you can see the lines, and figure out if they are getting darker.

GL, FX'd for you and :dust:

So this morning, I woke up and took my temp for the 3rd day straight:

9DPO - 95.9 - day I had pink discharge
10DPO - 97.5
11DPO - 97.9

So with that, I 'think' I implanted on 9DPO, and my temps have been up since then. I have no idea what they were before (was bad and didn't temp). I will be temping next cycle if I am not successful this cycle.

I have lower back pain, and mild cramps in my uterus. I feel like it is swollen and pushing on everything else. It kind of feels like AF is coming, but milder, not as strong. I have had a few bouts of nausea too.

I stupidly took a PT this morning.. and it was still BFN. I know its early, but darn it I want a BFP!!!

Oh well.. maybe tomorrow I'll get a BFP.. it will be 12DPO then.

Hi! I haven't read your other post, I am too excited about this one first :haha: I looked at your chart but it's a wheel- I haven't seen that before! Anyway I was trying to find out what dpo you are and I think 10dpo?? Anyway your temp at 10dpo is exciting! My temp at 10 dpo was 98.1 then by 11 dpo it was 98.6 and I had my :bfp: So I can't wait for you to test!

The opk's there are expensive but somewhat comparable to here. I usually bought IC's from eBay for my poas addiction  then the CBE's (with smiley face) for clear identification the days of Ov. GL! Please keep us posted!

Lol to Google--isn't that where we get all our info? lol

I found this
Also, be mindful that hormones are powerful substances and while they can be very helpful if used appropriately they can also cause serious harm if misused.
It's important to note that among the many claimed uses for DHEA, is that it can slow down the aging process. This is because (DHEA) is a naturally occurring hormone found in the body that declines as we age, meaning the production of this hormone wanes.
In general, it is believed that the human body produces 10 mg to 15 mg per day. In fact, DHEA has been referred to by some researchers as the "fountain of youth" and as an "anti-aging" hormone, a reference to the fact that DHEA levels start to rise just before entering puberty, peak at age 30 of life, and then declines as we age. Again, speak with a physician that is well-versed in natural hormone replacement for proper dosage for DHEA.
Tips and Precautions on Choosing a DHEA Supplement
More on .. is DHEA safe?
1. The usual recommended dose range from 5 to 50 mg a day and should be used under the guidance of a doctor. It is also recommended that if you’re going to try DHEA, you should also include antioxidant supplements vitamins C and E, and the antioxidant mineral selenium to prevent oxidative damage to the liver.
2. Select a supplement produced at pharmaceutical GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliant registered facilities. It is important to note that dietary supplements are not highly regulated by the FDA in the U.S. and, as such, manufacturers are self policed and do not have to guarantee the safety, effectiveness, or even the true content of their products. In fact, consumers only have a 1 in 5 chance of buying a product that contains what is stated on the label or one that does not have other serious problems, including contamination.

Mind you this site is trying to sell a product but some if the info is good. :)

Hey Everyone..

I think I'm out this month. I had spotting on 9DPO and again today 11DPO. Feels like AF is on its way. I haven't had a BFP either, and I tested today. The cramps are just too similar to AF, I would be highly surprised if it wasn't AF. BOO HOO.. Oh well, there is always next month!

Wishing you a BFP!!! :dust:

Nuts! Well, let's wait and see- never know until :witch: right? As you said- always next month!

I'm 8dpo and had trouble sleeping last night. I woke up after sleeping 3 hours and was up for 3 hours until I was able to sleep another 2 hours (waking up in the middle). And I wasn't tired today. I normally sleep a solid 7-8 hrs. Could this be a symptom of pregnancy or just a symptom of impatience during my TWW?

Oh, and I was nauseated when I woke up the first time.

Could be both :) I read this online :

A good number of women suffer from insomnia in early pregnancy.
Most people attribute the insomnia in early pregnancy to the hormonal imbalances - while in some cases this would be true, there are plenty instances where the insomnia in early pregnancy is caused by the excitement and anxiety of being pregnant. The overall feeling can be compared with the excitement and anxiety levels of winning a lottery ticket. Since the excitement generated by the news is such, the sheer joy of it will not allow you to sleep, eat or do anything else other than thinking of the great event"

:) You know, before I got the confirmation of my bfp with an hpt I could feel pregnant- I was calm, at peace, I felt very...Good. :) If you are prego this may be your body's way of reacting to the excitement of it :happydance: I hope so! Got my fx'd!

Will you test with a FRER in a couple of days? I wouldn't suggest using a less sensative test than that though if you test at 10 dpo:)

Thank you, Grey Eyes. I bought one of the OPK & preg test multi-packs from early-pregnancy-tests.com, so I was going to use one of those, as early as tomorrow morning. But I guess you're right, I should try an FRER instead.

Well it depends on the hpt you have :) You said it is an early test right? If the mIu is early then go for it! Although I tried with a frer on 9 dpo (my bfp was 10 dpo) and got bfn :( every woman is different and hormone levels differ. So if you feel like testing tomorrow (can you tell I want you to so I can know too ) go for it :)

I'm still not out yet.. but I just feel like the :witch: is on its way.. grumble

I'm going to try to hold off until Monday morn. We'll see if that works. Thanks for the support :)

And good luck, Alicatt!

12 DPO - temp is still up 98.1 this morning, cramping is mild and seems to come and go, as does the backache. Tried to have a few drinks last night and they just weren't going down, with every sip its like I was fighting back nausea. Boobs are tender, and blue veins are popping out, so maybe I'm still IN? I tested this morning, not even a faint BFP, UGH.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the spotting I had yesterday.. pink in my CM when I wiped, but that was it, then it was gone again. Could I have implanted 2 times (twins)? I had the same thing at 9DPO, then again at 11DPO. I'm just so confused!!

I know some women don't get a BFP until AF is due, but can't she bend the rules for me? I'm going bonkers!!!
