Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Alicatt- Thanks for asking... Im feeling all the side effects of progesterone... I have this pit in my stomach that this didn't work again. I test today...because I'm too impatient. I'm 5dpt... way too early it was obviously negative. ugghhh

How are you doing? Having fun in Canada?

Sams.. how are you feeling? Any symptoms? Have you decided on when to test?

Of course it's too early! Wait a few more days, you are only 8 DPO! I got a very very faint squinter at 9 DPO, and wasn't sure what I was looking at. It wasn't until it got darker the following days that I knew I was pregnant. Try again in a day or 2, but don't give up hope until you're at least 14 DPO! When is your official test day?

Ok ladies the doctors office just called and my resolution for HCG went from 91 to 335.5 and my progesterone went from a 11.5 to 12.5. Iam so excited and filled with joy. He asked me to have them repeat again next Friday.....does anyone know why the third check?

They like to see your HCG double every 48 hours and 3 tests are normal. Have they suggested progesterone supplementation? Your progesterone is on the low side, it might be a good idea to ask about it? I think the lower limit is 10, and ideally it should be between 20-40. Your HCG looks good! Congrats!

Thank you so much!!! I didnt see this suggestion for progesteron supplementation but I saw my doctor today and he is suppose to call me with HCG and Progesterone results today and I will ask about that. I am a little worried because I had lite pink spotting this morning.:sad2:

Angel is right spotting early is normal, it can mean implantation or it can be a sign of low progesterone levels, or possible ectopic. Lets keep our fingers crossed that its good news!
How many weeks were you at the ultrasound? Did they see anything in the uterus? By 5 weeks the Dr should be able to see the gestational sac, and by the end of the 6th week a heartbeat should be seen.

On Friday my HCG is 3813 and Progestrone 15.5. This made me feel a little better but I will have another sonogram on Wednesday to see where the baby is and its ok. The sonogram on Friday didn't show anything. But I am feeling a little better today!!! Thanks for your encouraging words. Will keep you posted.

Angel-Congrats on 36 weeks! Not much longer to go now :happydance:

Samsfan- It's too early to test. I know this is the most difficult time to have patience. Keep thinking positive thoughts. :hugs: We are all rooting for you!

Brighteyez, pink spotting is normally a good sign of implantation so please try not to panic. Bubs implants and burrows throughout the first few weeks, deeper and deeper into your uterine wall to get comfortable. In fact, pink spotting is normally my first sign of a BFP so try and relax.

How is everybody else doing?

Sorry but it's a quick one from me. I'm so restless I can hardly sit to type! Well, I've been cursed with restless legs syndrome throughout this whole pregnancy but this past few days I've also developed a bit of PGP, really low pressure and Braxton hicks galore, all day. Baby has significantly dropped in the past week so I'm kind of hoping he/she will arrive early. I would love it if it was h/s hurrying along but I get the feeling that this one will stay warm in my uterus until my planned induction at 39 weeks :-/

xoxo

Thanks so much!!!!!!

My official test date is October 21st!

Thanks so much!!!!!!

My official test date is October 21st!

Just popping in for a few, we moved yesterday so I'm in cardboard box hell. I got my first bfp I think 12 or 13 dpiui. It might be in my siggy. I definitely got nothing sooner for sure. I too had all the progesterone side effects and was truly expecting a bfn. Let's be honest, it was my 1st IUI, my AMH was low, dh's morphology low, but it happened. The 2ww is enough to make you drink but know that it will happen. Sometimes it's not on our schedule, but when I look back the timing couldn't have been better. Any sooner and work would have shit me. The houses we were outbid on, same thing. It was heartbreaking to get set on a house, envisioning ourselves raising a family there only to lose the house. We ended up with the best house of all we bid on and the timing was perfect. We literally closed on my 1 yr anniversary of working at my job. All docs needed for the mortgage were approved because of that timeline. So don't stress, it will happen when it is supposed to. God always has a plan for us.

Angel I'm so sorry about the RLS. I get some tight calf pressure at night from time to time. What helps me is iron and potassium. I drink prune juice like its my job. It def helps. How's baby? I hope you go before you're induced. Is baby active? I swear ours is either breakdancing or has a hamster wheel in there. When he's up he makes me aware.

Afm, the move has been arduous but as smooth as anyone could hope for. We packed the kitchen and wedding gifts with the help of my parents which have truly been saints. So we had a jump start on unpacking that stuff the day before the movers came. I know it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but we had so many wedding gifts in the basement on metal storage racks that we had to get into our cars, I did a lot of stairs, lifting and was on my feet for 10 hrs non stop. I took it easy on Sunday but was back at it Monday and yesterday. I was so exhausted and sore I could barely walk and ended up taking a slight fall up the stairs...yes up the stairs bc I'm uncoordinated when that tired. I broke my fall with my leg and forearm and went down on my side never hitting my belly at all. Note to self, no more socks on the wood floors. Duh. We still have a tone to do as boxes are everywhere but as soon as Verizon is done here I'm logging on to work. I took yesterday off and Monday was a holiday. My boss had the balls to answer the phone this morning "Sue who?" and I've only been out 1 day so far. So logging on to work is imperative to get him off my case. Anyone else takes days off even some several days in a row and they get no flack. They just get on my case like "how dare she". Did I mention I have not taken any days off since Feb until yesterday. First work day not logged on at all. What are they going to do during my maternity leave??? Will they even leave me alone for 8 weeks?? And it's not like my day off is sitting on my butt eating Bon bons watching General Hospital. I'm moving and unpacking boxes at 31 weeks prego! Ok rant ended.

Ali babes, how you feeling? Take pics of the lovely Canada foliage please! We are taking another day off (gasp) Nov 1 and driving up to Colgate where my husband went to college. He's been invited to judge a moot court competition. I fear we will be past peak up there as leaves are already changing on Long Island did to cooler nights. I hope you are getting some much needed R&R and enjoying family time. Breathe in that fresh pine air and stay positive about what's next. Angel will be passing the baton to one of you ladies I can feel it!!

I will pop back in later, have funny stories to share about my neighbors going thru our garbage as we prepared for our move. Miss you lovelies!

Wow Babywhisperer, they are really not helping you out at work at all. You would think they would pitch in more so you could get some days to pack and move! That must have been scarey falling, even on your side. I am glad you were able to break your fall and you and baby are doing good.

stalking for updates from you Samsfan. In a couple days you will be able to test :happydance: How are you feeling? Hope that you are thinking positive thoughts!

brighteyez- how was your sonogram on Wednesday?

OMG I just wrote a whole reply and it disappeared

Here it goes again.

Babywhisper. Your employers better watch out they are begging for a discrimination lawsuit. Document everything. Thanks for your encouraging words... but I don't feel hopeful. I could never do IUI.. as it would only yield 5 percent success rate with my old eggs. Please take it easy lifting stuff.. its not good for the baby.

I agree with you when its meant to be it will happen, but I fear that God has other things in store for me. My career has always been my first priority and that is why I am in this position. That is my fear that I am headed for other things and when I have nothing to head towards it will be too late.

Chantal- My test date is October 21st. I have to admit I tested this morning and it was negative. I am not hopeful... I had some tugging last night, but I'm thinking it is all the progesterone. No implantation bleeding at all. I am super tired tonight, but I think that is because I had a speaking engagement and I was out late last night. My husband is hopeful, because transfer day was on my late father in law's birthday. I hope for his sake something happens. I can't believe this time period is so long. I have been trying to take it easy, but if I do time goes by so slowly so I keep myself busy. How are you feeling?

Alicatt- Hope you are relaxing for your next cycle when you return.

I am already thinking that if this doesn't work I'm going right into another cycle... Ugggh

Hello ladies!

Samsfan -the tugging you felt is a good sign! Fluttering and bubbling sensations too. Keep thinking positive. :hugs:

afm- I have set up a consult next week with financial advisor to move ahead with donor egg. I have to do the hsg and a bunch of other tests again.

Hi Ladies!

I'm back from Canada and am starting my stims on Friday! I am picking my sperm tomorrow and doing my intralipids on Friday as well. Amazing how going on vacation helps pass the time! For those of you on FB I posted pics of the leaves and me escapades.. cranberry marsh hike, lake trail hike, and boating. It really is beautiful up there this time of year. The colors weren't as vibrant as I've seen in the past, but the weather was perfect!

BabyW.. you are amazing doing all of that while pregnant! Your boss and co-workers better watch themselves, as Sams said.. discrimination? Hopefully it won't come to that.

SAMs.. don't fret yet, tugging is good, that is implantation! If you are feeling that now, then I'd wait another 2 days before testing. :dust:

Chantal.. so glad you are getting started on DE! YAY!

Becaue Im impatient, I tested again. NEGATIVE. I know its still too early. If anything happened today is the first day hcg enters the bloodstream. :cloud9:

Help Please! The 1st day of my cycle was 8/22. (My cycles have always been irregular) My husband and I had sex on 9/15. I had some light cramping on 10/3 with pink and red spotting for 3 days and then light brown spotting for 3 more days. On 10/10 my nipples became very sensitive to touch and immediately become hard when I remove my bra. I have been more tired and wanting to eat more meat than usual. I recently went on a gluten free pork free diet so I'm not sure if that's the cause for the tiredness and protein cravings. I took a home pregnancy test on 10/11 and it was negative. My doctor did a blood test on 10/14 and it was also negative. Today I took another home test and it's still negative, I have a mild headache, nipples are still sensitive, my bras are not fitting, my breasts seem heavier, I had a full night sleep and Im still sleepy, and my pants seem a bit tight..Could I still be pregnant.

I'm not a professional, but I don't think you are pregnant. My guess is that you may not have ovulated this month or perhaps you have a cyst. I would definitely go see an ONGYN to find out what is going on so you can stop stressing, and get treated for it whatever is causing the delay.

Hi, new here and over 40 TTC. I wonder if anyone uses ovulation sticks, my doc never heard of them ! I have and only once have had a positive result on them even though every indication is that I am ovulating. Are they a waste of time , do they work for most people? Is it me?? All advice gratefully received

I am 41 and I find that the clear blue easy kits work best. They tell you what cycle day you should start testing and then test until you get a smiley face. I like them for the smiley face too! It makes my day to see that. They now have a new kit that tells you when you are most fertile with a flashing smiley face too. They are more expensive and you can only use the digital part for one cycle whereas you can use the cheaper one over 2-3 cycles. The reason you can only use the flashing smiley one for one cycle is that it saves both your estrogen and LH hormone in the stick and watches as those levels rise. Once they get above a threshold it knows you are in your fertile window.

I would recommend the flashing ones as they are the most accurate, by also more expensive at $29 a cycle. The others are $34 a box but they last 2-3 cycles. The cheaper test strips are hard for me to read as the line can be dark but it could be that way for days before you actually ovulate. So I chose not to read them as they just made me bonkers.

Other ladies have joined fertility friend it's a free (with extras if you pay) website that monitors your cycle and helps you track your ovulation and cycle length. You could try that too. It allows you to track your BBT, CM and OPK. BBT or basal body temp is a great way to track ovulation. Get yourself a basal thermometer and take your temp before you get out of bed each morning. CM or cervical mucous is a way to determine when you are ovulating. They call it egg white cervical mucous, because it looks just like that! When you see this it's right before you ovulate.

I hope this helps!

PS. I always get my OPK's and HPT's at Walmart, they are cheapest there.

I have an app on my phone called Mydays which works well, it tracks period, fertile days and ovulation, so far it seems to be spot on as far as period after using it for 6 months without really TTC just out of curiosity really. I started a course of reflexology this week and am told all 'felt' as it should and she claimed to feel the egg/even if you dont beleive its comforting anyway so here goes........:)

I can actually feel it when I ovulate, it's like sharp pains on my left or right side for a few hours. When I've used the smiley OPKs they have always been dead on with my egg white cervical mucous and the pains usually follow the next day.

Good luck!

Welcome MaButterfuly and LadyNat

LadyNat- I tend to agree with Alicatt

MaButterfly- I buy mine off the internet, but may try Alicatts

AFM- I have had a brown stain all day. It's now turned into a rose... This doesn't look good ladies. Tomorrow is test day... I guess its game over.:(

Oh Sams. :( I really hope that the spotting is implantation bleeding! Have you tested today? I'm still pulling for you! :hugs:
