Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hi ladies:flower:

I trigger tonight... Looks like ER on Friday. My E2 stopped rising yesterday at 425.. My follies did grow though. I have 3 on the right at 20, 16 and 13 and more than 3 on the left at 19mm 2 at 15.5, and 13.5... Idk what it means when your E2 stops rising..but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Yeah!! Seems like you have some good ones brewing there, and the trigger will give them a boost. How are you feeling?

How are you doing Ali??

Afm, :ninja: I went to the Dr last night and it dawned on me that I never got the Rh shot. I asked the Dr, she said I should have gotten it at 28 weeks when they did the glucose test, but when she checked my file, I had not received it. They were fresh out of the shot themselves so I had to go to a pharmacy, have them order it b/c it seems everyone is out of it, and then go back tonight, pick it up, drive to my Dr and have them administer it. It's a major medical expense so I have to pay out of pocket and then submit a claim. It costs $185. I am so mad for several reasons. One being Holy Friggin Oversight Batman!!! What if I hadn't been reading up on my being a - blood type and dh being +???? The fact they they had none in stock and made me go to a pharmacy to order it when they obvi need to order their own, and then have to go back to the pharmacy to get it only to drive back to the Dr to have them give it to me. They say as long as you get it before delivery you're fine, but what if I hadn't known about this? What if I had some trauma or accident and my and the baby's blood mixed? The baby could have my neg blood factor, but what a risk to have if he ends up having dh's +. They test the crap out of us over 35 but somehow miss this. I am very mad. I need confidence in this group to have everything up to date before I deliver and to be organized. I'm not a #, I'm a person and I waited too F-ing long for this baby to have an oversight by them put my baby at risk. WTF!!!

Ok end rant. Sorry but I felt so hassled since they forgot and didn't have any in stock. They should have just ordered it for me as they need to replenish their stock and had me come back today. Instead I'm left to run around and get it and pay out of pocket.

Other than that my next appt is Nov 20th and we will do a sono. From then on I go every week and they do sonos, and hook me up to a FHR and contraction monitor, so longer appts from then on. My BP is 120/70 which is the same every week, and all else fine thank God.

I swear ladies, we all need to be our own advocates and question every dr, and I don't care how much school or experience they have...they are human and no one knows our bodies like ourselves.

Babywhisperer- I know exactly how you feel. I hope you get reimbursed and everything squared away. I am so disappointed. I went to my second opinion. He has a small office.... second in the nation with one of the best live births for people my age. He looked at my paperwork and raised good issues. He said he would never had done the protocol I am on. He also said, that I don't have the best chances, but if this cycle fails he will do certain genetic testing, he also said that the water sono they did was not the best water sono, he recommends a endo biopsy, and he said they never did a full semen analysis, so I don't know if my dh sperm have crooked heads:shrug: He also said, (like Ali said) that in order to place someone on DHEA they have to do blood testing... when I asked my doctor he said he wouldn't know what to test for. He also wants to look at my eggs and see if they are viable. He said he's not going to let me do 20 ivfs (not that I could afford that) if my eggs aren't worth the try. So I guess my doc missed a lot, but I knew that. When I first met my doc, he said he did an antral follicle count and everything looked good, it was not until I asked for my amh that he did it... I don't understand, he was more concerned with just applying the protocol. So I don't trust anyone right now... The new doc also said that he believed that my clinic triggered too soon on this cycle.. that he would have let the larger ones go for the smaller ones to catch up... ugghhhh.... This guy is really thorough.. he knew how many eggs fertilized based on the last follie count and said that everytime he triggered too soon.. that he didn't wait for all of them to catch up... idk..he comes well recommended by 2 people that had issues and went to him. He also is willing to do a bunch of genetic testing and get to the real issues... My current doctor is more concerned with just applying a protocol rather than finding out what the issue is. I also want to go to Cornell, for a second opinion if this is not successful, but I'm just uggghhh:nope::nope:
Tomorrow's ER... I hope I have something good to show for all this spent time!

Good morning ladies!

Ali congrats on being PUPO!! :happydance:

Samsfan thinking of you for your ER today. :hugs:

Babywhisperer- Congrats on 34 weeks!! sorry to hear about the stress you had with them being out of the Rhogam shot. I am Rh neg and dh is + also so each miscarriage I've had to have the rhogam several times. The second miscarriage when I started spotting they were out of stock at the hospital and had to order it from the pharmacy and we waited for 8 hours at the hospital and I had nothing to eat all day. The third miscarriage, they gave it to me twice in a 2 week period because one nurse thought it was only good for a week. :nope:

Chantal. How are you doing???

Afm. Only 4 eggs retrieved. I know I just need one, but hoping for 2. Im going to rest. This time was tough.

Was this second opinion at Cornell in Garden City? Was it Spandorfer?

I'm telling you I would never go to anyone else. Even North Shore was a waste of time and was going to try and push me to IVF right away. Spandorfer said to give IUI a try and it worked. My Uncle is an obgyn and anyone he has referred to us for anything has always been the best.

Don't give up hope yet, based on tests they do you might respond better in more capable hands. I know its hard to have faith in Dr's, but if you're going to Cornell I was impressed from beginning to end and I expect a lot from people...some might call me high maintenance when it comes to this stuff.

I went back to the Dr last night and got my shot and gave him an earful. It doesn't matter if the timing doesn't matter as to when I get the shot, an oversight is an oversight and I need to have confidence in them. He understood, allayed my fears and he and a nurse went over my chart right then and there to make sure everything is in order before then send to Labor and Delivery on Monday. Squeaky wheel gets greased.

4 is a great number. Stay positive and rest as much as you can. I'll be doing a fertility dance for you and Ali!!

Just got word my friend who is due 2 weeks ahead of me w/ her first is 1-2cm dilated already. I'm telling you everyone is going early and I hope to join them!

Nothing shocks me anymore and that's why I research everything and ask questions. It pays to be informed. I don't care if they think I'm difficult, I just can't have blind faith in anyone anymore. My years battling Lyme Disease have taught me at least that.

But how are you feeling girl? This chilly weather making you long for Barbados?? I want to go!!!!!

Hi Ladies..
6DPO here..

Symptoms..
Lower back pain.. crazy pain!
Pulsating cramps in uterus
Sore boobs on each side
Tender nipples

What do you think?

Oh and a very slight :bfp:, but it's so early it could be the trigger?
Not sure what to think

OMG...OMG... OMG..... Alicatt- Test tomorrow.. the trigger is out of you system within 5 days.. Are you a five day transfer or a three day transfer?

check this website out.. it could be implantation symptoms.

https://www.nyufertilitycenter.org/ivf/embryo_transfer

So ladies I need huge prayers. Only one embie has made it.. they "revised" my fertilization report. Only 2 eggs were mature! one fertilized. So prayers.. Hopefully this one is a fighter.

Sams.. I'm pretty sure it's just the trigger :(. I tested again and tonight was lighter than last night. I think  I didn't get a positive until Monday last time.. which was 9DPO. I'm only 7DPO right now. We'll see if it starts getting darker!

Sams.. good luck with your embie Sams!!! I only had one too! Grow little one!

Hi everyone, i just signed up today and this is my first post... I am very glad to come across this thread. TTC is really overwhelming and an emotional roller coaster ride for me. I hope to meet "sisters" who are going through the same journey!

God bless us all!

Hello, I'd like to join in this thread also! TTC for 22 months so far and have just this month had all tests done to see if we are both ok. Awaiting appointment for results next week and a little nervous I must say! Have been doing ovulation testing and watching EWCM also but nothing, so this month invested in preseed! Fingers crossed, it's worked, would be quite nice to go to docs and discover I'm pregnant then, irony wouldn't be lost on either of us!

Babywhisperer- I'm trying to make an appointment with Dr. Spandorfer and only get a machine with his assistants. I leave a message, but nobody has gotten back to me. Can you private message me the number you have it is different. I would really like to get a second opinion from him.

Hi ladies!

Are you calling Garden City or NYC? I will look for his info and get back to you.
