NYC.. Does he have an office in Garden City?
NYC.. Does he have an office in Garden City?
Yes, but might just be for monitoring.
Had sono last night, little bugger had fist over his face again and was kissing the cord so not a good look No picture, no clear view of his face.
They estimated him to be 6lbs 3 oz, I'm not dilated at all and while having FHR monitored a woman was next to me having contractions every 5 min. I was like OMG she's in labor! Off to the hospital she went.
Baby has bilateral renal pyelectasis of 6mm and was 5mm last month. They say it's common in boys and usually resolves itself, but I'm still worried.

WOW! Not long now! YAY!! I bet you are getting excited If the Dr isn't worried then I wouldn't be either, there are so many things they can do now adays!
AFM.. WTF appointment on December 2nd. I'm not sure what the plus will be from here, I have lots of ideas, but want to hear from the FS first.
Happy Turkey week everyone!
BabyW..
I'm pretty sure I have several issues to varying degrees:
1) Age, it's finally catching up to me
2) Estrogen causing an inhospitable uterus during fresh IVF
3) NK cells
4) Insulin resistance/elevated androgen levels
5) Weight
I think it's possible for me to get pregnant, and keep it. They did intensive testing on me, no chromosomal issues, receptive uterus in a FET (but unknown in a fresh IVF). The last IVF I was on a GF diet and that probably fixed my insulin resistance, but this last cycle I was eating terribly. My AMH is still high and I had a decent Antral follicle count. The quality just wasn't there this time. So I'm going to work on my insulin resistance and androgen levels to get my egg quality up. Lose some weight and transfer my frozen embryos in 3-4 months. If that doesn't work then we check levels get second opinions and see what shakes out. I'm considering embryo donation if we can't do another IVF.
I hope the back labor subsides! Sounds horrible. or maybe little baby is starting to make his appearance? Can't wait to hear/see the little tyke!
I think you have a great plan Alicatt- I think I'm going to join in your plan. I went on a carb overload yesterday, like it was the last day on earth. I hadn't really been eating bad for a while.
So I spent the entire day researching a new clinic, although I have seen Dr. Palter at Gold Coast and he's all set up to go and I have an appointment with Cornell. I am going to exhaust every possible opinion. So I did some research and the new SART numbers are out. I have included the list for the top clinics in the United States.

I'm a little disappointed that Cornell is not on it. Very disappointed. Dr. Palter is on the top 25 in the US..for my age group, so we shall see. When I click on top rates in New Yor, k Dr. Palter is number one and my doctor is number 5, Cornell is number 6. I'm still going to seek an appointment with Dr. Spandorfer. I think Babyw is right. I also reviewed all the other top clinics in the nation starting from one, because of am considering going out of town. Reproductive Medical Associates in Texas didn't impress, my age group success is too small too travel. I'm afraid to go to Alabama. Oregon interested me, but they don't take my insurance. So I landed on Conception of Colorado. I like their cancellation rates, which are low and their live birth rate is 50 percent! Their rates are higher than CCRM. I may consider calling them for a consult also. On another note, I did email Dr. Sher from SIRM and he responded that I definitely should investigate immune issues which effect implantation 50 percent of the time. I cannot believe that I had crappy eggs 3x. I'm starting to wonder if I have implantation issues.
My doc is on vacation by you Alicatt, maybe you'll run into him. He called me while on vacation and he sounded worse than me. He was terribly sorry.
Thoughts ladies? Sorry for the rant... but I just had to get it out

Here is my $.02 on the whole ratings thing. I was told by my uncle an obgyn that the scores are sometimes not a true picture. I know North Shore was intently focused on their scores, hence the hard sell to push me to IVF right away to ensure the most chances of success. They really tried to persuade me from even trying IUI. Cornell sees way more people than some of the higher ranked practices. The cross section of people as far as backgrounds and age is tremendous. They don't just push you to what will keep their scores high, they treat you the way they think will work especially if you don't want to go right into the most invasive and expensive protocol.
St Francis Hospital a cardiac center near us is the same way. They will not operate on you unless you have a high % of making it because they want to keep their 98.6% success rate where it is. When you ask other doctors they really tell you what goes on behind the scenes.
Babywhisperer- I agree with you. That's why I have an appointment with Dr. Spandorfer the end of January. Since I have so much time in between I am seeing Dr. Palter, maybe he will find out something I didn't know before that appointment. I am seeing them tomorrow, for initial bloodwork and sono. I am not starting a cycle, we are doing some in depth testing. If I can do a cycle with him end of December into January, my appointment with Dr. Spandorfer will be perfectly timed. We shall see. I've prepared myself with a plan every step of the way, in case I am not successful.
I can't believe you are due in 3 weeks. It feels like the 9 months went by so quickly. You are so blessed, enjoy every second of it. Can't wait until delivery!

Hi Ladies..
Been MIA for a few weeks.. finally figured out what was causing my migraines. So hopefully starting tomorrow I'll start feeling better.
BabyW.. any day now! Have you any updates? Will the little guy come early?
Mum2Beth.. welcome! I've heard that metformin can help with improving fertility so hopefully it does for you!
Okay ladies it's been a while
Babywhisperer- Is the baby here yet!???
Chantal- How are you doing? What is going on with you?
Ali- How are you feeling? Did the migraines subside..
Coy- Miss you
I have a bit of an update. I went for my second opinion and it seems that it is my eggs. He says my eggs are of that of a 41 - 42 year old. It won't be impossible to conceive, but difficult. So that never stopped me before. A couple of things I need to address. My glucose. He won't do a cycle without getting the glucose down. Means no carbs for a while. He suggested that I start DHEA and go off all other supplements, ie Maca, royal jelly, coq10. He also suggested that I may want to consider HGH. I have to think about that one, but I will start a new protocol a Micro Lupron Flare. (like you Ali) I need to improve my egg quality, which is usually not possible..but I'll try whatever I need to try. I'm aiming for the end of January! Hopefully, I can get my glucose to where it needs to be.
Hi Ladies..
Headaches are still here.. I do have a diagnosis though. I have something called a chiari malformation type 1 if you want to look it up. So long story short my dream of being a mom is on hold for now (temporary) while I get a specialists opinion and figure out where to go from here. I really only have 2 options deal with the pain and progressive debilitation or have brain surgery. Neither option sounds good to me! UGH! I'm meeting with a neurosurgeon that specializes in chiari malformations and I'm hoping to get further tests and more information about it and my options. It's so bizarre because I've had funky symptoms that I never knew were due to this chiari malformation, like sleep apnea, insomnia, fatigue, hoarse throat, balance issues, of course the headache, concentration issues, memory problems, neck pain, nausea, there are a lot of symptoms I don't have and some of these I've only just started having in the past month or so. I guess the more recent ones could be due to the debilitating migraine.
Sams.. I'd give this Dr's plan a try. Blood sugars and insulin do play a role in hormones. So getting that under control is a good plan. The Lupron flare is also known to help speed up the cycle so we won't stim as long. That will also improve your egg quality, so my FS says.
BabyW.. glad the pain is gone! I don't know much about the things you are talking about but yes vaginal is best! I read somewhere that it transfers beneficial bacteria to the baby. Amazing! Wishing you a speedy and safe delivery and a healthy little boy!
