Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- yes my doc said it is safe to color during pregnancy, just best not in the first trimester. I never had trouble around the temples, just always those stupid grey hairs on top of my head :growlmad: Like 3 of them! Just enough to be prominant. Anyways I found a brand that has aloe and no ammonia...and great thing is it only takes 10 minutes so cuts my contact down to half the time or less!

Here is the color I am going to try this time

https://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/pr...l+Natural+Instincts++-++28+Nutmeg+(Dark+Brown)

Hope it's not too dark but I used to be flame red  so I like to play with it :)

COOL! I usually go with the golden blonde color, which is difficult to find, they have a golden brown, that might work. I'll go get some this weekend I think and touch up my temples. That is the only place I get greys, I think! I hope! LOL :haha: I haven't looked at the top of my head recently. Maybe I should?

K, so I live in a very small town and for my next assignment I need to interview a mental health specialist. None of which are avaiable here. The only one available is 120 miles away and my instructor is trying to make me drive there in my rickety little car! :growlmad: I told him it wasn't possible and he whines "you'll just have to make the effort..."

Effort? Effort! :saywhat: I think the telephone was invented for a reason...

So you can't do it on the phone? What about skype?

Yeah! What she said!! Driving when you have skype is not very eco-friendly!!
Afm no change, but what a day! My boss got fired and so did someone else in our dept. Meetings tomorrow to discuss how this impacts us. Grrreat.

Hope everyone had a better day than me!

babywhisperer- boss getting fired might mean a move up for you  GL!

Ali- I don't have Skype yet :nope: but I do have tentative plans to interview a local advocate for women against violence

Doubtful, but thanks for the vote of confidence! :winkwink:

I work for a wall st firm...it's a boys club so not likely a move up for me. I'll just be reporting to another suit. The politics are enough to choke a horse, but they called me before letting them go to let me know they want me to stay and not to be scared when I hear about the "changes". Just grateful to have a job!

But hey thanks universe for the added stress and anxiety, I was severely lacking in that dept!!! Hubs is taking me to a very nice dinner as we both had an insane week. I finally get to spend time with him since he's been working until 1am every night.

babywhisperer.... sorry to hear about your week... can't imagine the stress of working on wall street! At least they had the forethought to let you know so you wouldn't panic! Hope you and your DH have a nice "date" night. I could use one of those myself. My DH has been working ALL the time lately and even has to work all day saturday and sunday this weekend :( I am getting nervous waiting on the results of my blood work... I can just imagine them calling and saying that I somehow went thru early menopause while I had my mirena in! LOL! We shall see... The first time I got pregnant I was not even trying it was a "right after high school graduation" surprise! The next time I was 34 and got pregnant right after beginning ttc... I didn't even know any better since they didn't pull all the "high maternal risk" crap out til I got in the hospital to have him and was a day past my 35th birthday. This time I feel much more up and down about it. Amazing how one minute you can feel so positive and the completely worried and negative the next. I also feel overwhelmed with all of the pos, blood work, drink this, don't eat that, take this vitamin, and google overload that I am inundating myself with. Am I crazy or are there others like me out there????

Where is everyone? I need advice!!

Who's the expert on mucus plugs? Here's my latest odd symptoms:

For the last 3 days loose stools at least twice a day

Diminished appetite

MS type symptoms

Increased vaginal discharge (extremely annoying having to change panties several times a day! :growlmad:)

Pains around the top half circle of my uterus

Cervical pressure when I walk

....and today I noticed when I used the restroom that there was a slight obstruction when I had to pee  then a "plop" and I noticed a mucusy white chunk in the toilet stool. It was total about 2 inches long with the majority of it an inch and as big as an index finger. Is this part of a mucus plug?

I am being deposed ALL day tomorrow so don't really want to go into labor yet, plus I am too early.....

What are "ms type symptoms? Are you ok? Maybe you have been doing too much lady! Lay down and relax and call your dr, even if it's the service...get them on the phone for piece of mind. I am sure you're fine, but take it as your body telling you to slow down. I have friends who have delivered at 7mos and everything was fine if you are going early. I wish I had experience in this. Want me to call my friend who is a dr and just had twins and ask her?? Her father is an obgyn.

All jobs include stress, even supermodels...hahaha yeah right! I can't remember out last date night. Hubs works so much, weekends quite often. We are like 2 ships in the night most of the time. I leave for work while he's still sleeping, and he is done with work and I'm already asleep for 3hrs.

Take a deep breath and relax. There is nothing you can do and while that is even more vexing, the only thing you can do is manage your response to the uncertainty. Relax, listen to some music, whatever it takes to move past the anxiety. Take each thing as it comes. I've had a slew of health problems and I know hoe overwhelming it can be, but you are stronger than you know and more resilient than you have been tested. Have faith, stay positive, and get off Google...I had a lump on my neck once and I went on to Webmd...BIG mistake. I thought I had a tumor...it was a swollen gland. We all get in our own heads, but do enough research to be your own advocate, but don't self diagnose. Stay calm and know it will all work out fine. HTH! :hugs:

Jeepers!

I am so not the right person to ask about this! I've never been pregnant. I concur with BabyWhisperer, maybe it is a sign to relax and take a load off? I also think you should call the Dr's even if you get their answering service and get a call back from the nurse. Find out what could be going on, and then figure out a way to handle it.

Let us know how it goes!!

Hi ladies :hi:

No new symptoms, so am going to finish stuff up and get ready for bed....
Oh, btw "ms type symptoms" is Morning Sickness type symptoms, e.g., acid indigestion, upset tummy, hungry but sick if I eat sick if I don't eat, exhaustion,e tc....I understand what labor feels like, but I nenevr noticed the other symptoms with my last two pregnancies  Guess I am just paying closer attention this time?

GL at the Dr. How are you feeling??

Afm, I'm cd24, probably about 12dpo, veins are still prominent but not super crazy. Maybe I've just never paid attention to them and they get like this before af. No other symptoms to report. AF due on the 12th, woke up in the middle of the night to *TMI* pee like a racehorse and it smelled like sulfur...weird considering I didn't eat any asparagus. I also felt achey like a head cold is coming on...either that or allergies. If I am ever sick, it's usually right around AF so I'm feeling doubtful. Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning Ladies :hi:

1) Coy! You need to get your DH to help you now, you are over 35 and having a baby, and no mater what you think, its time to slow down! Take it easy, and get your DH to look after you. In fact, I'm a little angry at him that he is letting you continue to do all of this stuff in your state! :growlmad: I hope things go well today, let us know what happens!

2) BabyWhisperer, you know your body the best, so you could very well be right and AF is around the corner. Still until she shows, you need to have faith and think positively. As I have said, some women are positive that AF is going to show and then they get their :bfp: Here is hoping that this is the case for you!

AFM - barely any change at the scan this morning. They are all inching forward at a snails pace. The Dr even said, slow and steady wins the race! Still, patience is not my middle name! Actually Alexandra is.. My point is that I just need to wait this out. He said we wouldn't be doing the egg transfer on Tuesday, that was just not going to happen. It would be delayed, and he didn't know by how much. We just need to see how they develop the next few days. I asked him about OHSS, and he said that he didn't think it would be an issue because even though I have 30 follicles, not all of them will mature. So now we wait for the afternoon call around 2pm when they will tell me what dose of medicine to take, and when they want to see me again. I am definitely going in this weekend, just not sure if it will be Saturday or Sunday.

Can I just say that I am not a patient person and I am going slowly INSANE!!! :haha:

Coy...that sounds like part of your mucus plug. It did the same thing with me during my first pregnancy. You should probably get it checked just in case. As you know, the mucus plug is what helps protect the uterus from bacteria during pregnancy.

"What does it mean when you lose your mucus plug?
When you loose your mucous plug it means the the cervix is ripening (ie softening, dilating, thinning) to some degree to allow it to pass. Having sex or a vaginal exam can also dislodge your mucus plug or cause you to see some bloody discharge. Labour could still be hours, days or even weeks away as the cervix ripens slowly over time. Keep in mind you may or may not notice the plug, some woman go through the whole process never having seen it at all.

What happens if you lose it too early?
If the plug dislodges prior to 37 weeks then you should let your health care provider know. Losing the plug alone, prior to 37 weeks, without contractions or other signs of labour is not necessarily cause for alarm. However your caregiver should be informed to review signs of pre-term labour with you and have a visit to be assessed. If the plug passes early it doesn't mean that labour will necessarily start, just a sign that there is cervical change enough to allow it to pass. If labour doesn't start then this plug can re-generate to some extent and continue to provide protection."

But, you know your body. I'm sure you will do what you think is best. :hugs:

AWESOME Information, thanks Jess! I never even knew we had a mucus plug before Coy mentioned hers last night!
