Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- this darned bnb! :growlmad: I have been trying to post to you some stuff I read about BCP and egg quality and it keeps telling me a moderator will have to approve my post! :hissy: So I am going to FB you the info. Then if they approve :growlmad: my post it'll probably show up more than once  lol!

Checked in the seat cracks in your car for DL? Hmmm...Call your gated community friend and see if it's in lost and found somewhere??

Oh yeah- flu shot. Nope :nope: Not me! Scary as hell to me...everyone I meet that gets it has gotten the flu right away :nope: I have heard good things just haven't seen them  But you probably get out more than I do into very populated places. I would be careful putting too much stuff in your body though before youplan on another IVF.

Silly BNB!

well I remember seeing my DL on the seat, then I put it in the cup holder, and then it went poof! So I don't know what happened to it after that. I thought I had carried it into work/house or put it in my purse. It isn't in any of these places though. So who knows? I'm sure it will turn up the day I get the replacement in the mail! LOL! Murphy's law.

There! :growlmad: I posted it to FB in a PM serves'em right lol! Aaargh! How crazy there is nothing bad in it  Oh well.....

Yeah, I want babes to be born soon. I am all prepared for labor pain at the moment 8-[ lol, so now is a good time.

Well I came home from my walk and baked a spice cake. We all had warm spice cake and cold milk...perfect on a cold fall day! I think hot orange tea would have been good but I have no energy left to make it :haha: That's my days contribution to Aumtumn!

1. Consider high dose antioxidants. You can buy a supplement similar to Total Fertility.
2. Consider acupuncture and hypnotherapy
3. Consider taking 7-keto DHEA 75 mg daily. 7-keto DHEA is different than DHEA because it doesn’t have the testosterone side effects that DHEA will have and you can’t find this in most vitamin stores. You have to buy it online.
4. Consider melatonin 3 mg per day. Only one Japanese study showing that there could be an improvement in egg quality as a result of taking it because it is such a potent antioxidant. Can’t hurt, may help.
5. Consider taking resveratrol.
6. Stop smoking and limit caffeine and alcohol intake.
7. Maintain a normal body mass index. You can calculate your BMI here: https://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
8. Consider adding human derived growth hormone to your treatment protocol.

Towards the end of a natural ovulatory cycle, starting a few days prior to menstruation, the corpus luteum (the structure that produces estrogen and progesterone after ovulation) starts to fail. This is associated with a rise in blood levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) which in turn triggers the final process of egg recruitment and development of antral follicles, in preparation for use in the upcoming cycle. Without such FSH triggering, egg and follicle preparation is more likely to be compromised.
Administration of a birth control pill (BCP) suppresses FSH release by the pituitary gland, blocks ovulation and thus prevents formation of the corpus luteum. Accordingly, when a woman is on BCP and immediately begins COH with gonadotropins upon menstruation following discontinuation of the pill, she would be initiating ovarian stimulation without having completed egg recruitment and antral follicle development. As a result, follicular response to COH will usually be delayed and blunted. In the process, follicle and egg development is often compromised and the length of the ovarian stimulation cycle is prolonged significantly. Perhaps now it will be appreciated why starting ovarian stimulation coming directly off the BCP is less than ideal.

NUTS! I eliminated the links from the post but now it wont let me post the links to you :growlmad:

Yep.. looks like I need to go visit my local vitamin shoppe! HEHE

I'm going to call my FS tomorrow and ask me why i'm on the BCP, and whether it will hurt my egg quality or not.

I'm still on the fence about the flu shot. I've never had one before, and seems like everyone I hear about that gets one ends up getting a mild case of the flu. Still, if I'm going to get it, I would rather get it before I get pregnant than after, you know?

The way I look at it...if I get the shot I will get sick..if I don't get the shot maybe I won't? :haha: My simple mind...Anyways, so far so good  I am off now to go buy water and gatorade.

Fx'd we'll have this baby soon, I want my baby AND I want my body back :haha:

Just got a little bit of ewcm...do we bd tonight?????? Can you get ewcm for multiple days??

Okay, so I went to buy opk's...holy COW!!!! 50 + bucks!!! I'm sorry...I'm gonna pass this month. I did buy the mucinex, pre-seed and the little cups and that was 50 bucks alone. It would have been over 100 with the opk's. Sorry, I just want not prepared for that! :laugh2:

I am feeling a bit crampy again today and a little watery cm. I think we will wait and bd tomorrow though. We will see:)

Tell me about it. I went to look at my local store too- Sonuva-B  Spendy. So I went online at Ebay and you can browse through and get some super cheap ones--I got like 25-50 strips for 6 dollars! :saywhat: So I bought enough I could test twice a day for 30 days. THEN I broke down and bought some CBE digi's for the super fertile 2-3 days. You can bid those on ebay too pretty darn cheap

That's a good idea~saving them for the fertile days:) I will check around!

Yep Walmart is way cheaper. I did the same thing with getting internet cheapies online for both HPT and OPK. Use them to make sure you don't miss your fertile days, and once you see the second line getting darker switch over to the digital ones for more accurate results. Then you can save the expensive ones and use them over a few months. They say not to do this, but I think they just want you to buy new ones each month. The tester may run out of batteries I guess, and if you save the tests for a really long time I can see them being less sensitive. I figure as long as you use them in 2-3 months, you should be good! Plus each test in the box is individually wrapped so it should last a few months.

I guess I will have to buy some tests before too long here. I'll be gearing up for my next IVF round in about 5 weeks. I think they are starting me on the meds around 11/24 or something like that. I left the timetable in Canada, but my Mom said she would bring it down to me.

Oh, and Coy.. I didn't leave my DL in Canada, I didn't need it while I was there, you need a Passport to get into/out of Canada now. Plus since I'm a US resident, and still a Canadian Citizen, I had to use my green card too! I know I had my DL when I went to pick Zacha and Zoe up on Tues when I got back. I needed it to show the guard at the guard gate in the community that my friend lives in. It was taking it out for that purpose that made me lose it. I cannot figure out how it disappeared, but it isn't in my car anymore, and it isn't in my purse/wallet, and it doesn't appear to be anywhere in the house. I ordered a new one online for $25 UGH. It should be here in a week. In the mean time I will just have to make sure I'm a good driver ;) Don't want to get caught without one.

That is part of the reason I went to the Dr's today. The good cough syrup (the stuff that you need a DL to get) was not going to be something I could purchase for another week (no DL), and I figured, the Dr could give me better cough syrup, AND make sure I don't have an infection. So since I'm coughing up green crud, and so on, he gave me the antibiotics just in case. I hate taking them, but I think its warranted here. He also wants me to do a flu shot, but wait until next week.

What do you all feel about the flu shot? They say it is imperative that women get it if they are trying to get pregnant, and it is better to do so before you get pregnant. Are you guys going to get one?

Hi Ali! I'm sorry you're feeling yuck still! As for the flu shot, I am not a believer in them. I am a traditionalist when it comes to my immune system and I believe that natural immunity is the way to go. We, as a group, are reducing our own bodies natural ability to work against germs etc by giving it so many crutches to lean on. I will be giving my baby the regular round of immunizations- those which have been around for decades.... whooping cough, rubella, etc.... but I am not going to give this baby the chicken pox vaccine or a flu shot etc....
I am on the fence as to how effective the flu shots really are, and I'm very leery of injecting anything into my body while I'm pregnant. Also, I tend to be a little more than suspicious when there is a massive money trail behind whatever trendy new immunization is out on the market. Here in Canada the companies which make the flu shots get so much money to make it and distribute it, I just wonder if it's not just a campaign to increase revenues. I think if someone is working in the health industry, or with children all day long, or those with compromised respiratory systems, then perhaps the flu shot makes sense.... but I am more comfortable relying on "herd immunity" and so I won't be getting one.

Just got a little bit of ewcm...do we bd tonight?????? Can you get ewcm for multiple days??

K, EWCM usually indicates "fill me up with sperm and I will make it live!" for up to 5 days, so yes- start bd'ing! :haha: Also- EWCM can last for several days yes, but not always, so it is best to use it while you can. It not only helps the :spermy: make its way to the cervix friom the vagina but also to live there until ready to travel to the egg. Good ewcm is a proper host, kind of like a nice sleeping bag for sperm lol! :hugs: GL!

Hey all,

So I got it all (and then some)

Reservatrol
CoQ10
Maca Powder
Royal Jelly
Melatonin
7-keto DHEA

WHEW! Now I just have to start taking it!

Also started taking the Z-pac, and had a shot of the cough syrup, and I already feel better! YIPPEE!!

Phil - I hear you on the flu shot. I prefer to keep shots to a minimum and have yet to see any benefit having the shot. I'd rather get the flu and get the immunity from getting sick. I rarely get flu/colds, so this could be it for the next 2 years! IDK, I guess I'll do some more research and figure it out in the next few weeks.

You are like me then (knock on wood) I very rarely get sick. The way I look at it I can't afford to get sick :haha: Then who'd take care of everyone? lol!

Wow, you really went out and found all that stuff? Where did you go, like a health store?? I couldn't finad any specifics on how much of the 7-keto DHEA or Reserbatro to take but the indications I got was sort of basic, um, in other words...follow the instructions on the bottle? I hope it all comes with instructions!

OMG I was going to go back and correct my typing errors but screw it! :growlmad: lol! I hope you can all forgive my dyslexic fingers! Holy cow, that last post is loaded with typos..... Sorry Ali!:nope:

AFM- I am tired tonight. I walked all day it seemed, that sure saves on gas :haha: Then I got dinner for family then did mys chool for half the week....Dh already knocked out, sometimes he wakes really early because of his pain levels so just stayes up. The dd's are watching Shrek the Christmas Movie  they are really pulling for some snow right now, lol! Crazy girls....and I am just biding my time to put them to bed so I can take a long hot soak in the tub! :cloud9: I will have to research how warm the tub can be in late pregnancy and then I am THERE!

Anybody have any off-the-wall tips to jug this child out??

Well, the only thing I can add is that when I was still working as a massage therapist, I had a number of pregnant women come in close to their due dates (like less than a week before) or on or after, and I would do a very deep foot and calf massage. There is something about it that is rumoured to induce labour. I never promised results, but always said that at the very least they would feel more relaxed! Of the women I did that for, each one went into labour within 24 hours with the exception of one that went into labour within 48 hours. In school we were told to never do that kind of massage for pregnant women in the third trimester as it 'might' induce labour!
That's all I got for now!!

Ahhhh...I wonder if it is the area of massage then or just the fact that it is soOOoo relaxing? Because theone evening I took a very long and warm bath I just relaxed and that's when I started the BH so strong...and come to think of it dh gave me a back massage that evening too. Hm. I will try the bath tonight again but dh is asleep :nope: so no back massage lol! NUTS! and I woke up with leg cramps this morning, lol.

Argh, just barely got the girls settled in bed, the dishes washed, kitchen tidied....time for me to relax :)

How are you feeling? Babes kicking around ?

Terri- woot woot! Nice full degree spike lady! I'd venture to say you definatley Ov'd!! Yay! :happydance: And great timing on bd too, from what I have read it is best the days up to Ov rather thanjust the day of or after

The area being massaged makes all the difference! It is specifically the feet and lower legs! Get DH to give you a DEEP foot massage tomorrow morning!
AFM - babes is moving tons! I love it! I've been able to control my heartburn mostly with diet and have been trying to remain calm when dealing with DH and his issues. *sigh*. I see my midwife on Thursday and will talk to her about delayed cord clamping and suggestions for stress reduction techniques.

Also, dd #1 and I are going to do a 10 week birthing and baby care class together which I am excited for! It's been so long since she was born, I feel like its all new info again!

I'll catch up on the rest of the posts later, but its 06:15hrs, so I'm off to work. Just wanted to report that my temp jumped this morning. Hopefully there will be more over the next few days.
