Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

AFM-

I am sure you've all guessed by now... babes is officially one day over-due :growlmad:

Not sure what to do at this point but just take it in stride and wait her out! :haha:

Today I have to go bra shopping, no way around it. It is either be cramped up in a painfully too small one or go, um, free--and that's not very comfortable for me either  LOL!

Those of you with bosoms :haha: What type of bra is best? I know I am not supposed to buy under wires, and I hate bras that just press me flat. I finally have something up there I sure as hell don't want to squish it into flatness! I usually don't have bosoms, I am flat as a board most of the time. But in this pregnancy they seem to have "popped" out :haha:

There are great wireless bras as Victoria's Secret, Maidenform and I believe Playtex. Have you looked online?

1 day overdue....do you feel exponentially worse each day as it passes? Any more BH? I hope she comes soon!! Walk, bd, spicy food, what else can you do???

Hi Coy..... come on baby come out to meet us all!!!!!!!!! :winkwink::baby::baby::baby:. If you aren't breastfeeding I would look at maybe some balcony type bras as I find they give me a bit of a lift even though I don't have much either. Not sure if they are called this in the US. I find the make Freya fantastic, again not sure if they are available the US? I'm only a 28-30 in the back and few suppliers make bras this narrow. I'm a 30E normally, I went up to a 32F/G when pregnant.

Hi Ali, Twotogo, Terri, Babywhisperer, Phil, Jess and everybody else :hi:.

Phil.... your friend shouldn't have done what she did, but I'm sure she didn't do it out of malice? Perhaps she is also worried about you and needed some support or somebody to lean on to get advice to try and support you more? She maybe felt she could do this with somebody else that she knows you are close to so it felt ok to talk to them? Whatever her reasons I agree you should say you are a disappointed/annoyed, but if she is a really good mate forgive her as she may have had her reasons which I would ask for. You have too much going on at the moment to worry about this :hugs:

Sorry all for being MIA, I'm lying low at the moment, just trying to get through this next couple of months and I don't feel like posting much. Especially as I'm in a forced WTT period:growlmad::cry:. I am :coffee: and stalking ladies and trying to keep up but forgive me, God has sent me a challenging episode in my life and I'm trying to learn how to get through it. I will be fine  but I have a few early warning signs of burning out so I am taking a step back from posting etc until things calm down.

After 3 more MCs this year (I've been pregnant for 7 months in total over the past year and have nothing to show for it), my DH is still on a 3-day week since May, me probably losing my job early next year, we're caught in the housing trap because of the recession and then all of it mixed together while waiting on my hysteroscopy and wondering where that will leave me in my TTC journey and timing and work, I am a little stressed shall we say :dohh:.

C'est la vie and all that.

Coy, I'm so looking forward to pics of this new pending arrival! :winkwink::flower:

xoxo

Babywhisperer- "Walk, bd, spicy food, what else can you do??? " :haha: That's right! I am thinking there is not much else I can do :nope: except try to relax. One of my biggest problems is dh isn't feeling well either and that usually means the entire load shifts to me...which means little-to-zero relax time, alot of stress, etc.

Angel- you have a lot going on and too much stress too! :hugs: I don't blame you for not posting a alot. Sometimes it is therapeutic just to read the posts :) TBH I think there is def something going on to cause the mc's and I think it can be corrected. I am glad you are looking into though. Try not to feel pressured for a bfp! It will happen when the time is right- until then all you can do is try to relax and flow with it....Re: stress, housing, jobs. Yes to all the above! Me too! I lost my job (ages ago) and dh doesn't work, here I am fully prego, two very young dd's and...not too many options of improving our finances etc at this point. It can be very stressful, I stress every day about it, but  I think my biggest worry is thinking dh will blame me for all of it even though he can't get out and change it either. When we've argued in the past he has thrown it all in my face like it's my fault but always apologises later....still, leaves a bit of a bruise iykwim? Like I have to take the brunt, the load, and all the responsability and twist a miracle out of it. I don't think that is what he expects but there's really only so much can be done in this tiny town of ours that we seem to be irrevocably stuck in! :growlmad: lol!

I am glad you posted and happy to know you are doing well. The forced WTT is tough but you will get through it :hugs: You're strong!

Thanks Coy for the emotional support. Your list of suggestions of what to do next is already in the works. I was just hoping I wouldn't have to tackle that list. I hope you are feeling ok...I know you are past your EDD...just rub your tummy and tell lil'bit it is time for her to show herself!! :)

So, I am at home, alone, working on my thesis. I hate it when everyone else gets to go out and have fun and I have to stay home and work. BF went over to a friends house for some football and drinking with the fellas. He wont be home until late late late. <small jealousy pangs>

Oh well, I'm almost finished. Just about another 6 days of work. Next weekend I'm going to PARTY!!!

~~Jess

Aww, Jess, huge :hugs: ! I so understand the frustration. But remember, many women spot early in pregnancy, and your temps aren't below your cover line, so I wouldn't give up. :hugs:[/QUOTE]

Thanks, TwoToGo...I guess I am feeling sorry for myself today.... :(

It's okay, we all have days like that. :flower:

Jess- you know, I am not sure how you study...but I took a page from Einsteins book and had a few beers if I had to study hard :haha: Surprisingly I could blast out a full assignment and usually nailed an A+ on it  If I didn't have the beer ... well, let's just say I wasn't as inspired LOL! Just a hinting suggestion..since BF is out having fun, you know... Oh and Einstein didn't drink beer, he smoked marijuana I think...which I have never done nor will ever do so beer it is :haha: Just not now for me :sad1: If this baby would be born I could BF for a year and then have a beer! I always crave it at this point

My kids are balking at eating their dinner (chicken and rice with veggies) the only thing keeping them plodding along at it is the hot apple pie sitting on the stove top....

Hmmm...I don't realy like beer, and like you, I have never nor will I ever smoked marijuana. BUT...My uncle just bought me an incredible "HealthMaster" (Montel Williams brand). So, I am contemplating a frozen margarita!! I have all that I need to blast a frozen treat...even strawberry if I wish!! I even have some Bacardi rum so I could also make a daquiri. Hmmm...thanks for the fabulous idea! That apple pie sounds delicious too...with some vanilla ice cream. Whew! I'm getting a sugar high just thinking about it.

Sometimes I wish someone would take care of me the way I take care of my BF. I cook, I clean, I work FULL-TIME (making more than he does), and I am getting my masters. He never has to worry about anything but himself. Don't get me wrong. He empties the dishwasher (without me even asking) and he will even do laundry if he sees I am overloaded. But to have someone do for me the way I do for him...well, it would be nice...I'm just sayin'.

Yoooooo Hoooooooo! ...our thread is so empty on this lovely Saturday evening....

I am back! Yay! Got the kids to eat, they put on their pajamas, brushed their teeth ....:saywhat:....I am floored. Now they are needling me for a bedtime story. As long as it has "bedtime" in it I am game! :haha:

Jess- never had a daquiri or rum.... Future goals :haha:

I understand where you are coming from. Sometimes it would be nice...you know, dh does the laundry (I've never seen that happen! Unless it is one of his own shirts and he does it singly). He hates doing dishes so doesn't do that (like I love it, right?) Maybe he could budget for a month and keep me from stressing out! Or vacuum...the last time he vacuumed (just helping out) he left the vacuum running while he got distracted with something and literally burned a whole in our carpet :growlmad: lol! So maybe it's a blessing in disguise......

One thing about having a big tummy....it gets into everything! Literally. Somehow my 3 year old got her fork stuck to me and now I have mac and cheese on my shirt :growlmad: lol! The Mac and Cheese is my own fault...she refused to eat rice  so I substituted mac and cheese left-over's for it. *sigh* KIDS! :haha:Yik. Or when I wash dishes my tummy comes away all wet .....

Dh and I moved out this huge old antique television today. This thing weighs a ton! Whew! Took the both of us and a dolly and our Suburban backed up to the front door but we finally got it out! Put in a new entertainment pod center we had int he garage- yay! Another thing out of the garage! :happydance:

Hey All,

So sorry I have been MIA for a while. It has been a crazy 24 hours. I went out for lunch yesterday with a friend and as we were driving to the restaurant, my car started making this horrible sound. Like I was running over rocks and they were kicking up at the center console between the seats. I just knew something was wrong. So I called the dealership when we got back to the office, and made an appt to bring it in just before 5 last night. I go for a test drive with the service guy, and he says.. you broke your drive shaft! :saywhat: I only have 70,000 miles on my car!! Plus it is an expensive car, a high end VW. So I was freaking out, the name drive shaft, just sounds mega expensive, right? So while waiting to go to see the dealer about the car, I called back to the dealership where I got the car, to get the info for my extended warranty (car only came with 5 years, 60,000 miles). So they gave me the policy #, the company name and all that jazz. So I handed that info back to the service guy, he disappeared for a while, and came back to tell me that it was all covered, and I only had to pay the $100 deductible! YAYAYYAA! So I had them do the oil, lube and filter and rotate the tires too, since it was due for that, and since I was going to be without my car, I figured it was a good time for me to get this all done. So the total would have been $1530 but it was only $230 for me, since the warranty covered all but the first $100. I am so happy I bought that warranty :happydance:

I had to rent a car so I could go visit my friend that is in town for the weekend. We had a fun time, took the kids shopping, then dropped them off at the condo (with their nanny) and then went out for an adult dinner at a really awesome sushi place in trendy Las Olas. YUM! I even had a lychee saketini (it was a little sweet), but very yummy! That and rock shrimp and a sushi roll with salmon and tuna in it, and then a tuna tartare thing, man, they have the best sushi  Got home at midnight, and realized I'd left the gate clicker (to get into the gated community) and had to use the gate box to call my number (luckily it calls my cell) to let me into the community!! Silly me :dohh:

So today I got my car, ran a bunch of errands, came home and was exhausted. Fell asleep and now I'm wide awake.. UGH. Yes it is midnight and I'm wide awake. Silly me :dohh:

I must say that this waiting to start my next cycle is annoying, and being on BCP is even more so! I have been spotting on and off for the past few days, and I can't figure out why? If I weren't on the pill I'd be ovulating at this time, so it really makes no sense. I'm supposed to stay on the BCP straight through until Nov 13th, so that will be about 5 week straight!! Then I have a period and then start stimming on Nov 26th. I really hate being on the BCP.

On a side note, when I saw Kate, she said I look great, she was surprised at how healthy my skin and hair was. Plus she asked if I'd lost weight!! I was taken aback. I hadn't even noticed that my skin had cleared up! LOL :dohh: I thought about it, and she is right, I usually have little pimples and my skin is usually all bumpy and not clear. Well it is super clear and looking good! I wonder if having all of those hormones flowing knocked something out of my body? Could be the improved diet? IDK. I like it though!

So that is my last 24 hours.. busy! I am on call tomorrow which means not being able to leave the house, which sucks. I plan on getting laundry done, getting a little work done, and making a beef burgundy in the crock pot. I don't see me getting the bedroom all done, but I think I can get a little bit of it done. That is the plan for tomorrow.

See my next post for all the things that you have all been going through!

Ali- Wow, whata day! LOL! Now the drive shaft sounds like ssomething that would happen to me- just not the warranty  I am so glad that you got all that done for a few hundred instead of the sucker punch it would have delivered!

And wow, you must love sushi! I have never had it  sounds yuk to me but I think because I used to run an Alaskan fish camp and literally had thousands of fish coming out my ears on a daily basis  No fish for me :)

I know that you must hate the BCP becaus eit's like walking backward when you want to move forward...but apparently your doc knows what (s)he is doing and this is actually a help to you rather than a hindrance

Glad to see you back on - I missed you! :hugs:

Now throw some of that good luck this way and make this baby come out! :growlmad: lol!

I am nailing my last few portions of an assignment then I am going for a warm soak. Stupid google telle me my bath should be no hotter than 100 degrees...well dang that's barely above body temp :growlmad: How is that going to help? Nuts! Always something, right?! :haha:

Dd's managed to squeeze 4 story books out of me tonight! :dohh: Not sure how they managed that.......

Phil - so sorry your friend betrayed you. The last thing you need right now is more stress or the sense of betrayal from your good friend. Just tell her that it wasn't cool to spread your private discussions with her. Remind her that you need her to be there for you and that discretion is imperative. As for your FB friends thank them kindly for their caring thoughts, and just tell them that it is a private matter, and ask them to please respect your needs in keeping it private. You can tell them that you and your DH are making great strides on overcoming the issues, and you are doing very well. I can only imagine how hard this is on you. Just know that you have us all here for hugs and encouragement!

Jess - I really hope this is your month, I totally know where you are coming from, it is so frustrating when your body doesn't do what you want it to! So let's try to stay positive for a few more days to see if this is IB or not. Don't worry if it isn't, you have a great plan to tackle it all. We don't mind if you have to rant or are a little sad. Whatever you feel, we are always here to say :hi: give you  and encourage you on whatever you are dealing with!!

BabyWhisperer - your temps look great! Maybe this is your month  I really hope it is  If not, you are best to go to see the FS just before you get your period, and they will give you a req to have blood drawn on day 3 (or make the apt for day 3). Either way, you want blood drawn on day 3 (if it falls on a weekend day 2 or 4 are fine too). That is the first test they will want to do. Beyond that, the FS will probably take it from there. I really hope that you don't need it though. Here is to a :bfp: this month!!!

FirstTry - I am sorry to hear of your :bfn: but it is still really early. Just wait it out a few more days, your temps are still above your coverline, and you just never know!! Try to stay positive.

Angel - I am sorry to hear you are going through some rough times. I really hope things resolve themselves for you soon. Just know we are here if you ever want to chat. :hugs:

Coy - wow, woman, you are an inspiration! I don't know how you do it sometimes. I hope I am as good a mom as you are  Now if only babes would pop out! GEESH!! I hope you are feeling ok, and that this baby :baby: starts to make her way into the world sooner than later!! BTW, I love your bump, she does seem to be really low. Here is to her showing up SOON. My brothers birthday is the 25th but I think that is a long way out!! So hopefully you have her before then.

Damn! I hope I have her before the 25th too! lol! Funny Ali :haha: I was going to take a soak but that's so longg...I think I'll take a quicks shower instead and hit the hay. Btw- funny story. I found this place online to ask questions and sometimes MW will answer,etc...well, I posted my stuff, cm dilated, baby station, etc. So funny this MW answered back and basically told me I didn't know my butt from apple butter (and apparently my doc doesn't ither) because "If baby is at +2 station your waters certainly would be bulging or broken by n ow and you would be pushing in labor".

Oh, really. :haha: Shows what (s)he know! Oh I am bulging for sure (tmi) lol! At this point all I can do is laugh!

Oh and after careful research dh and I decided just to wait this out like we did with Kat. Becaus eoften doc will break the waters to start labor--and contractions just don't happen  Then after a max of 2 days they have to put you on a pitocin drip. :nope: No way if I can avoid it I will! It's best for babes to avoid all the drugs and interferance (sorry- sp- I am tired)....

Sounds like a good plan. I'm sure she will come when she is ready, and I wouldn't want to rush nature either. Well unless you have to, but at this point, she is not in danger, and nor are you (maybe a little uncomfortable, but not danger). Go have your shower, and sleep  I'm going to do the same thing. I'm super tired myself, and I have a lot to get done tomorrow!

Thanks Ali- good to hear from you :hugs: Took my shower, watched the end of Dr. Who with dh :haha: Now gonna  (I hope)

Terri- wow, 8 dpo and an awesome spike in temp! Got my fx'd for you this month!! are you going to test this month or ride it out? I have no patience I'd have to test  lol!! :hugs:
