Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- wow, you are doing too much for a Sunday! Slow down! Who wants to do laundry anyway? :growlmad: I tried to do a couple loads yesterday just to stay caught up...now I have to clean on the laundry room some...

And what's up with my girls today? O my heck, I tell them "let your papa rest, he is meditating because his legs hurt so bad". So what do they do? Solemnly nod their heads then they go sit on his lap (yes, both at the same time ) and compete with each other for noise  Wth is that all about? Anyways, he handles it so well, he's very good with them so I try to stay out of it as much as I can....
They are good sisters and love each other very much, i think they are just experiencing the natural worry of being "forsaken" :haha: Poor things :)

Re: Aeryn's pic...notice her pointy little chin? :haha: Cute. And her lips are very full she just has them sucked in here......

She is adorable! Too cute for words! I can't get to my computer to write more, there is a mountain of cushions all over the place and nowhere to sit!

Omg :baby: is so cute!!! Are you napping while she sleeps? I'll listen to your labor story!

Ali - how ya doing? Sandy is starting to wreak havoc up here. No bread on the shelves, 3 of the 4 gas stations ran out, 1 just as I pulled up to the pump. I finally wedged my way into a station and filled up...there was a looong line. Did this happen down by you in anticipation of Sandy?

Afm, I am anywhere from 8-10dpo since FF and countdowntopregnancy.com have me ovu and different times. I had a vivid dream that my Mom had passed away, I don't know how...but I started to panic in my dream and went out to my Dad's car to listen to a voicemail she left (why in his car I have no idea) and I heard her voice and started crying...and that's when I woke up crying. I was and still am very upset. So I took an internet cheapie and got a bfn.

I went for a Brazilian keratin treatment at 10am, and from there it was non-stop....and my power just went off then on again, damn it's happening already. Anyway, I left the salon and went food shopping, it was a mob scene and hardly anything left so I got soups, water, duraflame, frozen pizzas, and then I got gas, $$, car adapter for the new iPhone in case our power goes out I can charge the phone in my car. Then I stopped by my parent's and told my Mom the dream...she said it means she will live a long life. I am not very emotionally close with my mom, but I do tell her almost everything and we speak daily. She just isn't affectionate like my Dad and she is very judgmental and critical. The fact that this dream felt so real, and jolted me into really thinking she had passed away...when I woke up crying, it was the ugly scared crying. It didn't last long, but it definitely rattled me. I thought maybe it was a bfp sign, but I got a bfn...I think af will be making her appearance by starting to spot on Wed.

Anyway, more Frankenstorm preparations...I got some wine, batteries from my parents (since every place was out of C's, D's and 6 volts) and a large flashlight from my Dad...so we are in good shape. The LIRR, Metro North, and the NYC subways are shutting down at 7pm so I may not be able to go to work tomorrow if they aren't running. I guess I could drive into the city if it's not bad. If not I can work from home if I have power, if not then I could work from my phone or hook my computer up to the adapter in my car.

Dh is working all weekend, but I think he's on his way home since it's starting to get ugly out there. I hope we don't lose power! But I also hope I can't go into work tomorrow :happydance:

How is everyone?? Coy- if you're chart stalking how's mine looking? I'm scared b/c this time last month I went up to 99, then it dropped for a day, then went up a lot only to drop a lot and I started spotting.

Hmm...I think you may be preggo! Your chart looks great btw- and it droppped last month at....13DPO, so try not to worry!! The vivids dreams are bfp symptoms too! Never a guarentee of course but looking ggood so faar!

Glad you are getting ready, try to buy some food like cracers and canned soup you don't have to cook just in case.....

coy would love to read your birth story and Aeryn is beautiful.

babywhisperer your chart is looking fab hun,fx for a bfp.

ali you fancy a holiday in uk i have piles of laundry for you lol

Afm my test other day must have been indentation done a cheapo today and a first response and both negative @ 10dpo af due in 2 days so thought the fr would have shown something up by now, symptoms are tiredness to point of falling asleep on sofa, increased appetite especially sweet stuff which i don't normally eat and have a craving for bacon flavour corn snacks, headaches, stuffy nose, frequent pee trips and my temp shot up this morning, could it just be to early to test, the fr says can detect 6 days before period due.

Howdy!

I hate :laundry: it is just never ending! Plus some of the clothes I washed earlier didn't come fully clean :growlmad: There is still a little stain on my favorite shirt. :growlmad: So I sprayed it with some stain remover, but now I have to wait until I have enough dark clothes to make a full load to wash it so I can wear it! :argh: It is a sleeveless shirt and from the sounds of it I won't be wearing any sleeveless shirts this week! It isn't supposed to get above 75 degress (which is cool for Florida) and the lows are going to be in the 50s. Means I might even have to turn on the HEAT! :haha:
It is still very windy where, I am not sure why? Sandy is slamming into NY and NJ so why is it still windy all the way down here? Makes no sense.
BabyWhisperer! Be safe, this storm looks like it's going to be bad and you guys are going to feel the worse of it in NJ. You too BabyDust!
Things you should have: full tank of gas, candles, water, batteries, flashlights, source of heat if it is cold up there, canned goods like soups and ravioli, and a means to cook them (BBQ). We buy the foil pie tins and use them on the BBQ then just throw them out when done. Then no dishes :) It is also a good idea to get your important docs in an air tight bag, just in case of flooding or the wind rips your roof off. First aid is good too, and if you can afford it, a generator. Course all of these things should have been bought before now! I find it odd that the only major storms to hit the US recently have been in your neck of the woods and also TX/LA. Seems like FL is being ignored. Fine with me!
So now I'm trying to decide.. make dinner or go have a bath? I am not really hungry and my head is still hurting, so I'm thinking a bath might be a nice change.

Coy.. did you see the pictures I posted on FB? I even posted one of Zoe doing her roll over, it is so funny! My doggies have been lumps today, I think the dog park really tuckered them out yesterday!

BabyWhisperer.. do you find that the Keratin treatment helps? What does your hair feel like before/after?

Ooo, Alin- your temps look awesome too! And when I got my positive on frer I was 9-10 dpo but it was sooOOooo faint....give it a day or so and hope AF doesn't show up :growlmad: Fx'd for you also! And the stuffy nose, tiredness, etc--I had all that as well. Exciting! :)

Ali- good tips on preparedness  Especially the BBQ! That is one thing I worry about the most for folks out there is no way to cook their food or stay warm :cold: when they need to. Here...well, we had a wood burning stove - I have cooked on it during our major power outages, the dd's were quite amazed I could make Chinese food on top of the stove  lol! Re: your shirt. Why not wash by hand then toss it in the dryer? I do it all the time....

AFM- I am tired. I am hungry. I have too much to do. My boobs hurt. :haha: My day in a nutshell! I just got back off another walk (my 2nd is all today) and am tuckered...I get tired easily, maybe it is an iron deficiency? Hmmm......

Sorry, I dozed off for a while...zonked out. I hope you're right, but I have no symptoms. My bbs are not hurting, cm is more like paper mache now, no IB, no cramps or lower back pain...just tired and I get tired before af. I got a bfn so I think I'm not testing until Wed/Thurs...if the witch doesn't show...but it's feeling more like pre-af now.

I got us pumpernickel bread b/c that's all that was left, some turkey, cheese, soups, and luckily we have a gas stove. I think we will be fine...hope power doesn't go out. We are close to the water, but are on a higher part of the north shore. I'm just soooo tired.

Ali - the Brazilian keratin is awesome. My hair can get frizzy in humidity and it's coarse so it can take a while to dry. I can blow it straight and it looks awesome the next day all soft. Afterwards, it is really smooth and takes less than 10min to dry since the cuticle is closed and smooth. I can get it wet in the rain and it doesn't get frizzy. It's awesome...save me a lot of time in the morning...but it's $$ and you have to use special shampoo...no sodium chloride and salt strips it. If I lived in Fla, I'd be getting it every 3-4mos.

Sounds like you need to relax and sleep  you need that to keep you and Aeryn healthy! That is impressive making Chinese food on a wood burning stove!

Yes, we use our BBQ a lot during storms to get food hot. Not that I cook foods that I normally would on the BBQ (no steak), but things like canned ravioli or soup etc. I usually have 2 tanks, and that has gotten me through in the past. The worst is not having power for A/C since it is usually mega hot down here during hurricane season. Otherwise things are OK, the water is usually about 78 degrees out of the tap during the summer, so a shower is like taking a dip in the lake, a little on the cool side, but totally doable!

I was reading up on the storm a little bit because my parents are planning on heading to FL (by car) on Thursday next week. Well I'm not sure they will make it! They are saying that there will be widespread power outages and 1-2 feet of snow between Pittsburgh and Beckley, WV, which is the exact path they usually take! So I just told my Mom to see how things go, and if necessary delay the trip by a few days.

I hope BabyWhisper and BabyDust are bunkering down and getting ready for the storm! Be safe!

AFM - still battling a headache, but I just keep motoring, I got my laundry done, the couch is back in one piece, and I am making bread! It looks soooooo good! OMG, I've never made bread before, I hope it is yummy! Also making macaroni and cheese for dinner tonight. Just don't feel much like cooking, and then I'll have it for leftovers tomorrow, with the fresh baked bread!

Well I hope it is a :bfp: but if it isn't you have a plan! Also  for having a gas stove. That really helps! I have super thin straight hair, and lately it has been getting really dry, not sure why? Thought maybe Keratin would help it out a little. Not sure I want to spend hundreds of $$ though! I will have to think about that. Honestly I think my hair is freaking out after all the hormones and also the mix-up on the thyroid meds. I really need to get my Dr to call in the brand, hopefully I'll remember to do that tomorrow!

Hormones can make hair dry and brittle. I suggest a hot oil treatment 1x/week and maybe a hair, skin, nails vitamin supplement and Omega 3 will help. Also a green juice for breakfast...the algae, chlorella and spirulina are awesome for hair and skin...and everything else.

I missed you all today! What a couple of days I have had:) Dh got home safely from DR where he dealt with Sandy pretty much the whole time. Now he's home to prep for Sandy again! He said if it's as bad as it was in the DR, it's going to be horrific. Everything's canceled. I've been cooking and cleaning and chopping up a storm...why is it that we always stock up on the wine??? lol

I have to write more later~we have to skype with my bil. Took FRER...bfn:( Still lots of symptoms...we will see:wacko: Talk more in a bit!!

Babywhisperer- ... algae, chlorella and spirulina for breakfast? Ummmm, I'll pass :haha: Actually I have no clue what that is so I shouldn't say "pass"...I'll say maybe...:haha:

Babydust- glad you are getting ready for the storm. I was just gonna ask why you stalk up on the wine  Don't get me wrong- I love a great red wine  and nothing like tucking away cozy and sipping a glass when it storms...And glad your dh will be home with you! No worries on the frer- if you are preggo sometimes it just takes a few days  Temps look perfect!

Ali- I like your method of using the BBQ for cooking! And yes- canned goods are perfect, no reason to try and get all fancy. My dd's want to roast marshmallows so maybe tomorrow...Yeah, defo tell your folks to hold off and wait this crazy storm out some. Dh told me they are closing some major modes of travel too 8-[ very worrisome for some folks I am sure! I never worried about the cooking and power outages, I grew up in the supreme wilds of Alaska--literally took an hour to fly from my house to anywhere- a village nearby then another 20 minutes to Fairbanks. If yu took a boat you would drive all day long, at least 12 hours to get to my place, and it was all deep wilderness travel. I loved it there, so quiet and awesome (breath in) no neighbors :haha: But I learned to bake bread at the drop of a hat (let me know how yours turns out!) etc. But I hate my electric stove, it bakes terribly :nope:

AFM- Hm, made dinner, very simple...Dd's- I had to kick them outside to play. They have been obsessed with Aeryn (understandably so) but not getting any good outdoor playtime. Their little brains need the fresh air! No school today thank goodness, so I am going to take a shower and relax (in theory) let's see if I can make it happen :haha: I did remind my dh today that most women aren't up and walking, exercising, and working this soon after labor - and I started the night of! I want to be strong but don't want dh thinking I can do ALL of it...I so appreciate his help with tthe wood and dd's :cloud9:

I didn't say it tasted good, but if you mix it with some watermelon or apple it's yummy.

Don't do too much too soon! Rest, before you know it she will be crawling around and you will have no chance to relax!

Do you drink the bolthouse green goodness...? I have been drinking that for the nutritional value not cuz it tastes good.

That's a pretty good one but it has a lot of sugar. I like fresh squeezed from the cart on the corner by my office...always a long line for fresh squeezed fruit and veggie juices.

JANDK- I have to admit I have never heard of it  from what I am hearing though you ladies say it is all greats tuff so I am going to look into it

Hm...checking out your chart today- looks like an Ovu going on maybe today? Are you trying this month? What are your plans? :hugs: Fx'd!!

I'm just starting to load up on all my supplements: maca root, coq10, melatonin, royal jelly, reservatrol and pre-natal vitamins!
I have been using mink oil on my hair and it is getting better. This happens when my thyroid meds get out of wack. The thyroid makes a big influence on hair and nails.
I have to get up super early tomorrow, dropping Zoe at the vet and seeing my foot Dr all before work!
I just got out of the shower and I'm in bed.. now just need sleep to come!

Good morning all! Up early watching the storm come in:) Cray cray  for sure!

So my temps are so weird. up down up down  the roller coaster is making me sick! I don't know. I thought this was going to be bfp month but now I'm not convinced. I don't know how much longer I can keep ttc'ing. The process is getting me down. And the comments from people "time to have number 3" every week is getting to me.

Anyway, i'm discouraged. My CM is still creamy but not tons. After looking at my chart again, MAYBE just maybe implantation happened at 8dpo?? I originally thought 5do but I did get another dip at 8dpo. ugh...:dohh: wish I could control this but alas...I can't. :nope:

Praying we don't lose power and I can check in more later!
