Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Check out my new profile pic! That's our Blasty :)

Awesome pic!! Wow, don't get to see that everyday right? How are you feeling? I am assuming bedrest for about 3 days, right? I think that is what they told Ali this fall when she had to be on bedrest also.

So here's how it is...I get up this morning and jam around with a crying disgruntled baby- so I have to skip breakfast...then at lunch time dh and the dd's decide on pizza, so I make pizza...when I pull it out of the oven dh reminds me I have a few errands to run and "best to do those while Aeryn is asleep". K...so I head out. When I get back and smell that awesome pizza I go into the kitchen aaaaannnnd- it's gone :sad1:P They ate it all! Nuts. So I guess I skip lunch too.

But...I'm hungry. Funny how that happens when a little person is feeding off your body :growlmad: You'd think they'd save me some  In the words of my 3 year old..Oooohhhh wellll....:sadangel:.....

On an "I guess" good note....my attorney's assistant forgot I had court tomorrow :growlmad: BUT my attorney pulled a few strings and got me out of it, he just has to enter my plea remotely  then we set a date for some other time AFTER he views the video which his assistant keeps forgetting to request through discovery. Aaaargh!

When someone wasn't at the house for a meal we always saved some for them, and kept it warm in the oven. Sounds like your DH needs to be reminded (politely of course) that you didn't get breakfast or lunch today and that he should have stepped in to make sure a slice was saved for you!

Did you see the picture I shared on FB yesterday? It has a great story about it, you need to go check it out!

Ali- OMG, I just read that FB post! I almost peed my pants just with the first sentence! :haha: I am amazed--every descriptive is applicable to my day! Right down to the moist tp and the toothpaste smeared everywhere! I mean, wtf, right? How does this stuff even happen? lol! OMG, that's too funny, thanks!! :haha:

I know, when I saw that I immediately thought of you, and was literally laughing out loud when I was reading it. All the while thinking, OMG is this what I have to look forward to? AHHHHHH!

TwoToGo-

"For the procedure, the have you lie face down with the breast dangling through a hole. You are given local anesthesia. I can't say it was pain free, but it wasn't horrible. At one point, when they actually took the core, it was a bit painful (I'd liken it to feeling like I was getting small electrical shocks.) That lasted only as long as they were taking the actual core which lasted about a minute. I had very little bleeding. Some bruising, but not horrible. Like I said above, I have a barely noticeable scar. "

This link also has a ton of great info-- I have always found that being informed helps quell my fears!

https://www.medicinenet.com/breast_biopsy/article.htm

I don't think you should worry to awful much, I know it is normal, but try not to orry about the pain. From what I have read it is brief depending on the type of sample being taken, and they do use anesthesia  Just remember this- you've given birth lady! You are one tough chick! :bodyb:

AFM-

Babes is totally spoiled now and wants to be held constantly  I keep putting her down though as I simply can't get everything done one-handed - much as I would like to try! lol! Anyways...right now she is fussing on the bed next to me as she wants to be cuddled while she sleeps :) Annnnnd now I am holding her :haha: AAaargh! :dohh:

Coy, thank you so much for the information! That website was very informative. :flower: And I appreciate you researching it for me.

Oh Coy, I wish I lived near you to help you crack the whip on this atty's asst and your dh...I'm sure you smell a million times better than the men he served with, what did he do then??? You have a very full plate right now, at the very least I hope school is manageable and this ludicrous case gets dropped asap.

Twotogo, I had a scare years ago and went to a surgeon only to find out it was a cyst in my breast. I am sure you will be fine, surgeons are just the next step...and it could all end there. I will be praying for you.

Ali, I like your choice, you are going to have beautiful babies. How's the meds going?

Jess - I love that you guys play video games, but how do YOU find the time? You are so busy! I'm happy the end is near and graduation is just around the corner what an amazing accomplishment! You should be very very proud.

Jen - welcome aboard. This is the best group of women, very supportive and informative. I have learned tons from them. I am still waiting for dr to call em back to set up an appt for the FS. I think cd3 is end of Nov/beg of Dec. Good luck and have faith. I am turning 37 on Nov 26...we are still spring chickens!

Afm, I got a neg on my opk yesterday, but today I was very um, wet  and I came home from work around 8pm took another opk and it was a big fat smiley! So we did the deed and I am back in the tww. I bet I get another smiley tomorrow as I get 2 each month. I wish we had bd'd more this month, but af ended on Sat and Sun/Mon we were very very busy. Maybe not doing it as much this time around will make dh :spermy: more potent :winkwink: So far we will bd on the days we get smileys, ch's and the day after. If it doesn't happen this month I am already in the cue for an appt w/ the FS...I just hope they call back soon.

I am feeling less pressure since I've decided to just go for tests and dh is happy to get is SA. SO either way I will have some info as to what's going on soon as I sit in the tww.

Night night ladies! :hugs:

Thank you! I sent it to my MIL and she's thrilled. My bed rest was only 24 hours, followed by 2-3 days of light activity. I worked from home today, but I'm going to work tomorrow.

Good night, everyone!

You must have missed my meltdown with the Sperm Bank I had chosen, back to the drawing board. Just sent you a FB message with my 2 finalists back at Xytex. Help me decide (please).

:happydance: for that smiley face! OMG when I was doing the IUIs, seeing that smiley made me squeal like a school girl! :haha: Get your BD'ing in and note the days you got your OPK+ so that next month you can BD a few days before. So glad you are on the road to getting things checked out. I hope they get you in soon!

Meds are driving me bonkers.. I feel jittery all day long, and borderline ready to jump down someone's throat (I did actually jump down the poor woman's throat at FairfaxCryobank today). I got a refund of my $185 so I guess it was worth it. Then at night I am so wired I can't turn my brain off to sleep. Lupron is evil! I hope the next 12 days fly by. Good news is that I only have to go into the office 3 days between now and the 26th when we move on to stimming. YAY! :happydance:

Hello ladies. I am so glad I found this thread! I am 35 years old, and I have been married for three years and three months. In that time, my husband and I have never used birth control. We weren't exactly trying, just not trying not to, if you follow me. When I didn't get pregnant after a year, even two, I blamed our mostly weekends-only sex life, figuring that if you added up the months we had had sex at the right time, we were under 12 months and everything was fine. I started to grow progressively more concerned and started doing ovulation detection kits, which are never positive. I have mostly regular periods, though last month was a 23 day cycle, and that was very odd. I have a doctor's appointment for next Wednesday, the 21st. I am very nervous and feeling scared. I always thought that when the time came for me to get pregnant, it would be easy like it is for all the other women I know. I never thought I would be in this position. I want to cry every time I am confronted with other people's pregnancies. My husband is wonderful, but he seems to feel we have all the time in the world. Meanwhile, my biological clock is ticking so loud in my head it is keeping me awake at night. For some reason, I do not want to talk to the women in my life about this. I think it is because they do not understand, and the few trial balloons I have sent up have been met with "don't worry about it" sort of responses. I tried another forum, but a lot of the women there were trying to conceive number 3, 4, or even 5, and many were in their mid-20's. I do not mean to be reductive about what they are going through, but there is something unique about feeling like the clock is running out and fearing you may never have any children, let alone 5! One 26 year-old replied "wow, I would really be kicking myself if I had waited until after 30! Your fertility is decreasing substantially." It made me furious. I know she meant well, but it did not go over well with me. I replied that I was not in a position to have children when I was in my 20s, so I really couldn't regret it, but of course that is not completely true. I do feel like I wasted my fertile years and wish things had been different. I am in need of support on this issue and am happy to give it in return. I am happy I found you all, as you seem like such a nice group. Sorry this was so long!

Hi Jen! I'm glad you found us!! My name is Jess and I am 40 (41 in February). I have a 16 year old son, but really want another child...or two or three...;) And I have not gotten pregnant in two years we have been trying.
I understand about being nervous about going to the doctor. But you will feel such relief when you finally start doing something other than waiting for your BFP to show up. The ladies here are wonderful and very supportive. So, just know you can vent, be angry, cry, be happy or sad, or any other emotion and we will all be here to help you through it!! :) :hugs:

Thank you so much, Jess! I really hope Blasty (the nickname DH and i have given our blastocyst) has hatched and is implanting. I'm feeling cramps and twinges, but those could be caused by the progesterone supplements.

Ali: I have been testing out the HCG trigger and I still have a faint line today. How long did it take for you?

Also, I see that you have 2 new SD candidates. Have you decided yet? Can you tell us about them?

Cute name! Blasty, like it!

I think it took about 7 days after trigger to be gone, that is about normal I think, they say 7-10 days. Be careful because it is tricky. I thought it was gone, but then it was back the following day. It totally has to do with how concentrated your urine is. So to be sure I'd wait 10 past trigger. What dp are you now? 2-3dp5dt?

I have narrowed it down to 2 candidates for SD:

Agent 1 (thanks Coy):
Age:30
Height: 5'9"
Best features: amazing smile, loved sports, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Masters and has his MSCE (microsoft certification), 1320 SAT, 3.95 GPA, and is a Network Engineer

Agent 2:
Age:35
Height: 6'5"
Best features: strong work ethic, he's a CFO, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, played many sports growing up, 1160 SAT, his adult photo is more serious and he's wearing a tie.

What the heck.. I'll attach the adult pictures. Why not? I think you'll be able to determine which one is which with my descriptions.

:hi: ...even a consistent lack of routine is a routine!! No matter how crazy!! :hugs:

Update on the donor situation. They only have 1 vial of smiley guy, and plenty of tie guy. I spoke with the nurse at the FS office, and she thinks it will be OK to order 1 of each, and use smiley guy, and if there are any issues then we can use tie guy. I'm waiting for the DR and Nurse Practitioner to get out of surgery and they'll give me a call to confirm that is OK. I have the vials on hold, but we need to get them shipped by 3pm today so they can be delivered by Friday, if not I will have to wait to ship on Monday, and they won't be there until Wednesday next week. So I hope they call me back!

I'm 2dp5dt, but my trigger was at 3am, so I'm 8.5 days past trigger.

9923 is HOT!!! Is he the shorter one with the amazing academic record? While I'm normally a sucker for tall guys, I'd pick him. Just my $0.02!

P.S. - I'd suggest you remove the photos after we all see them. It would suck if someone they knew saw them posted like years from now.

Ali,
I like the one without the tie.... he looks pleasant... I would date him! LOL....
too bad he wasn't the taller one.... it's the only thing I would switch....
