Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Jess- here are some images of the gym equipment that I have:

This machine is not exact but very similar to what I have; a bench, cable with weights, etc.

My homemade barbell :haha:

Very cool! I have some weights and a medicine ball at home. Plus Wii Fit. Personally I don't like the Wii Fit, I find it too easy, and I can't see myself actually losing weight with it. I did find this zumba how-to video with beginner/intermediate and advanced videos that I thought I would try. It looks fun, but it is energizing to get up and dance! You could even get your DD's (well the 2 that are walking) to do it with you!

Its not really dancing but repeating moves, kind of like aerobics, but lots of shaking of your hips and gyrating of your belly. OK, so maybe not something you want to teach your DD's! They could just jump around when you do it though, and pretend!

My dd's already know how to shake their booty! DAD taught them  lol! Only in dancing of course and crazy cute on little kids but no, er, Michael Jackson "grab" moves iykwim....

I'm going to be doing P90X after I get the go ahead to start exercising again.... I love it, and I really like all the Billy Blanks stuff.... I find him slightly cheesy but encouraging... keeps me going!!

The P90X is good too, but I think you need equipment for it? The insanity one you do not. I wonder what Jess would say?

Phil - are you still pregnant? How did your midwife appt go?

You can do the P90X without much, I think.... I bought it right before I got pregnant, so I don't remember what I need at the moment!! LOL

I'm still pregnant.... today, feeling like the 9 months of AF crampiness I've missed is happening all at once!! I know it's doing work, so I welcome the sensations.....

The midwife appt went well... it was my favourite midwife, and we had a good discussion about what the next steps are.... all stuff they would talk to any mom about who's gone past her due date.... they didn't do the stretch and sweep thing today because there are two women who are about to give birth and the team wants to make sure they aren't burned out.... so they are going to come to my house to do the membrane sweep on sunday.... IF I'm STILL pregnant then!!
I have been told, that having a slow lead up like this will probably mean a fast active labour.... so I'm definitely in favour of that!
I did have the midwife check out whether any progress has been made, and my cervix is ripe and anterior which is good.... no dilation yet, and 2cm to go before I'm fully effaced, but I'm not concerned.... some ladies dilate fast and others are partly dilated for weeks before labour starts.... right Coy?? *grin*
Even the menstrual crampiness is good because it means my body is working to get ready for active labour....

How are the rest of you ladies doing today??

When I got the "menstrual crampiness " baby came 2 hours later! 8-[

Ladies -- P90X.. Insanity... I can't keep up with you ladies!!!!! That is hard core. Very cool! Bug has got me... Haven't eaten much since Tuesday... Fast way to lose weight.

Coy- I can't stop staring at your eyes. They are so cool!

Phil- We are waiting... well it sounds like the midwives really know what they are doing. Have a friend that gave birth with a midwife. She did great and loved it!

Ali - Hang in there. Thank goodness it wasn't ectopic.

Well today I went to the Ob/gyn for my regular exam. She agrees, no need to rush into IVF. She gave me information for a second opinion, but I don't think they are covered under my insurance.

So much to do and work is heating up... Have a wonderful Friday night ladies.

Samsfan- I have been hearing scary things on the news about stomache flu- I sure hope you get feeling better soon!

Good morning, Ladies!
Here I am for my daily update! I'm moving along nicely.... last night I was feeling like I was experiencing 9 months worth of menstrual-like crampiness all at once!
I called my mum and we decided I would get in a bath and see if it would lessen up.... I was feeling pouty when I went in, but it didn't take long for me to feel better. The achiness seemed to change... I still felt it, but that's when I realized it was coming in waves.... the bath was heaven! My mum came to spend the night again. When I got out, I was having contractions again, and they were stronger than the other day.... all good. So I felt like I might be able to sleep through them, and after midnight we decided to try and have a good night's sleep and see where we are today. So here I am today, pregnant, but still having contractions.... it's very bearable at the moment.... but I'd be surprised if this baby doesn't come this weekend.... today would be a good day! I've slept well, the crampiness and the light contractions didn't keep me awake... it's like my mind knew it was all for good, and just like we get used to the sounds in the night, I was able to sleep with the discomfort.....
will update you ladies later as to what's happening today!!

Ooh, its getting close. I'm getting excited for you. Looking forward to some bably pics. Is your Mum going to stay with you until babes arrives? Hopefully you're not too uncomfortable.

Well, Hubby is away now, leaving me to blitz the house, been cleaning the top 2 floors this morning, just the kitchen/Diner on the bottom floor to do now. All bathrooms sorted! Then about 3 loads of washing to do. not too bad. I think I'm going to go visit my Parents tomorrow. My Sister will be 40 on Thursday too, so I'll drop her pressie round to her, Just going to have a lazy afternoon and evening today. :coffee:

I go to my first diet meeting on Tuesday evening, I feel I need to go to the meetings to make sure I do stick to it, if I try to do it on my own, I tend to waiver. Swimming and Zumba start back again next week too, so this will be a healthy year and hopefully losing weight will get me that elusive BFP!

Phil- I am glad you have been able to sleep  The easy contractions should be working on that cervix. I wonder if you have dilated more? I am sure you must be effacing to a greater degree...once that all happens...POP. :haha: Stay strong!:hugs:

Terri- losing weight can be hard work but you are a strong lady  Keep us posted---what kind of group is it?

btw..stop cleaning so much! You're making me look lazy :haha: My house is a disaster atm....:coffee: lol

Phil - can't wait to hear your news! Today is my uncle's birthday, he is turning 68, so maybe this is a good day to have a baby?

I'm really dragging today, between the mild flu-like symptoms and now the aches from the front that just went through, I'm feeling like crap!

I managed to get some laundry done, feed the dogs, and myself. That is about all I have done thus far today. I need to clean up the kitchen, go grocery shopping and get my hair colored and cut. I have to get it all done today because I'm on call tomorrow and won't be able to leave the house. :argh:

Sounds like you will have that baby anytime now Phil! :yipee:
I am happy you had a good night's sleep and that the bath helped. I think your next update will be telling us that baby is here :)

I hope you feel better soon samsfan and Ali!

Wishing all you ladies a wonderful weekend :dust:
