Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Good morning ladies!

Coy- Aeryn is such a cutie :) Love the pics you posted and that is a very strong opk

Welcome 2013tts! I also get early miscarriages. The longest I've been pregnant is 9 weeks which was the first time I got a bfp 3 years ago this month. I agree with Coy about the progesterone. I think I have the same issue because many months I get very sore breast for 5 days after ovulation, triphastic chart and period will be 4 or 5 days late then :witch: still shows up. I am not seeing a FS at the moment so I'm thinking of trying some natural progesterone over the counter and see if it helps.

Well I was feeling hopeful this month since Fertility friend showed my chart was triphastic from cycle day 21. However I had a huge temp dip this morning  and of course fertility friend removed the implantation/triphastic comments. I never test until :af: is late but I was going to poas this morning 13dpo IF my temps were still high. Sorry Coy :( I feel really down today :( I know better than to get my hopes up like that. Tomorrow will be a crappy day with severe cramps and vomitting. UGH! Also it has been raining here for 2 days and is expected to continue tomorrow and I can feel the fibromyalgia flaring up. On the bright side I am have been ovulating earlier (cd12). I also made an appointment for dh to see the urologist since it's bee over 2 years since he's had his :spermy: analyzed. I also made gyno appointment to discuss having a laparoscopy done.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I can tell you are feeling very frustrated and down. I have those spells also. Maybe you could still be pregnant? I read this:
"Your chart does not need to show this kind of [triphasic] pattern for you to be pregnant. Whether or not you are pregnant, progesterone, the hormone responsible for raising your temperature after ovulation, generally peaks in the middle of your luteal phase and this can cause this kind of pattern whether or not you are pregnant."
I hope your turn comes very soon.

How come it is...
I can clean the house and then go to do my school assignments...2 hours later I walk into the kitchen and find the counter tops have been used like garbage cans ...water bottles, paper tops, cans- everywhere! The floor is covered in crunchy cracker crumbs...toys...books, etc. And as I am standing there in amazement my 3 year old walks in and says "why haven't you got my dinner yet?" or dh walks in, looks around, and gives me a look like I am a crummy housekeeper! Aaargh! Re: the garbage...it's not like I don't try! I have a garbage can in the laundry room, kitchen, living room, bathroom, dd's room, by the front door, I even set one in the sink to catch items there! And guess what? They hang a bag on my kitchen chair to put garbage in.
Then I wake up, get dressed, dress the dd's, cook their breakfast, hand out vitamins, set school assignments, change and feed babes, do the dishes, start the fireplace, then start my own school.....and then dh walks in and huffs that I haven't picked up a prescription for him or done some other thing I "should have gotten done by now". :saywhat: I am pissed today suddenly and I don't like it! I do everything one-handed as it f*&^%--ing is! :growlmad: Aaahh!

When I read posts Jess used to put on here about taking off in the morning to run or work out a couple hours at the gym I'd be jealous, lol...Time for oneself is important I think. I ALWAYS put my family first...but it'd sure be nice to take a few minutes.

Jen, wow- small world! This town has its share of crime but it is also victim to the "good ol' boy" system iykwim? What we have here mostly is robberies, domestic violence, and child molestation. In fact last summer we heard our girls scream and they came running for the front door...we have a fully fenced front and back yard and there was some man opening the front gate. He was asking the girls (ages 7 and 3 at the time) if they would like to help him look for his "lost little kitty". Anyway dh jumped outside and the guy took off. We ran pics of several men here in town and our oldest fingered one. He is regeistered as a sex offender.

Another reason I want to move! Aaah!

Anyway I am considering broadening my field of study to include forensics like you mentioned. My dh did some profiling back in the 90s but not since he became disabled.

Sorry everyone for the 67 posts today! I haven't been on in a few days and was catching up on everyone's posts. There was a lot I wanted to respond to and I have a free afternoon. :)

That is so cool that your husband did some profiling! Was he with the police or a private agency? It is a small world: Ted Bundy went to school with my dad (they were in the same class and everything) and he worked at the same place my mom does, though not at the same time. I have a close friend whose mother was a Chi Omega in Tallahassee on that fateful night. If I can ever offer any advice on career path stuff, let me know. I am happy to help.

The SOR approaching your children is so scary! Wow. Before moving to Florida, I lived in a gated community in Washington state. It was a very neighborly, friendly area. There was a twelve year old girl who did some yard work for me from time to time, and her grandfather lived a couple houses down from me. One day, he stopped by and said "I saw you had a plumber here today. Were you happy with their service?" I said I was and he asked if I had a business card for them. I said yes. I was not going to invite him in to my house, but I did know him a little and so did not feel I needed to lock the door. I was halfway across the room when I heard the door slam. I thought the wind had caught it, but when I turned around, he was inside my house, locking the door. Before I even had time to react, my dog jumped over the baby gate and backed the guy out of the house. My dogs are Bouviers, very large, a boy and a girl, litter mates. When they were inside, they were confined to one part of the house with baby gates. Now, my male, Ichabod, is 140 lbs, and his sister Lola is 120. They could get over the gates or the outside fence with the greatest of ease, but they are absolutely wonderful dogs (a terrific breed) and they respect the boundaries. I even left the gate open a couple times by mistake and they would not step over the threshold. When Ichabod sensed trouble, though, he did not hesitate. Their father is a member of the Chicago Police force, but my dogs are so friendly I did not think they would be much use beyond the deterrence factor of enormous dogs that look like bears (and they have cropped tails, so their thick fur hides the fact that their stubby tails are wagging a mile a minute. Their fur covers their eyes, too, so they are hard for strangers to read). What amazed me most was how Ich (pronounced Ick) knew that guy was wrong; he smelled it on him. I wondered if possibly the guy just had really poor judgment and didn't intend to do anything threatening, but that changed a couple months later when I got a notice from the sheriff's department that the guy's son was moving in with him. The son was a level 3 SOR, suspected of raping two adult women, convicted on one rape. I guess that apple did not fall far from the tree!

Oh, Coy, I noticed you were talking about taking opks once you get the positive. What is the purpose of that?

It is time for your own personal feminist revolution! Some weekend, you should make your husband do it all: the child wrangling, the cleaning, the cooking, the laundry, everything! I can practically guarantee he will be begging for mercy before the minute hand makes two full rotations. It is amazing how people persist in thinking that a lack of outside employment means that one does not work and are therefore available to run all their errands and assist with miscellaneous things they do not want to handle on their own!

Geesh! What did you guys do in 12 hours? There are 3 pages of updates!

I still have noob training.. but today is the last day! YAY!

Went to the Dr this morning about my migraines.. they prescribed something that has barbituates in it? :saywhat: I need to research this drug more. Not sure I want to start taking it? Or maybe I do.. He knows I'm TTC but I let him know that about 2 weeks before transplant I stop all non-pregnancy OK things. So he was OK with letting me take this for now. I will pick it up from the pharmacy tonight. I have a migraine now and it is annoying. Took some excedrine migraine for now.

I wanted to update you on the NK cells.. they came back elevated. So I think we found the culprit. I'm killing my embryos  I go in Friday to discuss with the FS how to stop this from happening.

I will write more later.. but noob (training person will be back in a min).

Hey everyone... sorry I'm sporadic... but thought I had a big project today and I had to prepare all day yesterday and it fell through!

Phil!!!! Congrats she is precious!

Ali- Good news, I hear! So when are you starting your next round. I am about to send a ranting email to my FS. I sent him my email about a schedule and he has not written me back with a plan since Wed! I want to say. You are fired!

So I had 2 positive OPK's yesterday and the day before and today my temp dipped. IDK what that means. I'm extra fatigued today and I went for acupuncture. I fell asleep with needles in me... I feel great!

Samsfan It could be that you surged but didn't ovulate right away. Often women will have a surge and not ovulate and then have another surge a few days later and then ovulate so keep :sex: every other day.

I agree with Never - keep testing you may see a second surge in a few days.

:hi: Ladies..

Phil - So happy about your little girl! I know I said so yesterday but I just wanted to say it again! :happydance: I bet you are on :cloud9: When you are up to it we'd love to hear the whole story.

Coy - sounds like a good start to the day? Hopefully it will be a little less chaotic over there! Did you get your paper done? I love geography so your study of the continental rift is right up my alley. I used to love going up the mountains just west of Denver. There is an area called dinosaur ridge and you can see the dinosaur footprints in the sand (well it was sand it is now sandstone), so totally amazing. Also you can see the different types of rock that formed the rockies as you drive up I-70 into the mountains, it never ceased to amaze me when I drove through. I'm a junkie for rocks!

OK so now on to the reason I'm posting today.. DRUMROLL...

I got a call from my FS's office. The clotting and auto-immune testing came back, and I'm normal! YAY! That means no lupus or chromosomal abnormalities, or any strange clotting issues. Totally normal. The only test that is still outstanding is the NK test. That is the one that had to be sent to a special lab. They are going to call them and get the estimated timeframe for the results of that test and if necessary I may have to push back my appointment with the FS if that test isn't going to be completed by Friday. Still, at least I know that 2 of the 3 sets of tests are normal! :happydance:

Bad news.. I can't seem to get rid of the headache/migraine. I finally broke down and took my migraine meds today (and took the day off) and they are helping, but I feel like my brain isn't functioning at 100%, like something is stopping me from focusing. I am seeing my regular doctor tomorrow and will hopefully get some help with this. It has gone on long enough, and I need to get back to 100% for my sanity!

Ali that is great news that your clotting and auto-immune testing came back normal. Other than NK cells are there any other tests that you will have done? You are motivating me to try and get some answers as to why my embyos won't implant.

They did the clotting, auto-immune, karotyping (chromosomal testing) and NK testing. I'm not sure what else they would do? That is all they have done for me and my repeated implantation failure.

Good morning ladies!

Sam- I too think maybe you will get another surge. It is very common to not ovulate on the first surge and often lh has to surge more than once. What is your cm like if you don't mind telling?

Chantal- don't apologize! FF is not always accurate but you know your body better than anyone else. Sometimes it sucks being a woman :growlmad: Don't stress! What do you like to do to relax and de-stress? GO DO IT! :haha:

Ali- how are ya today lady??? What's the word on Hot Shot? (The new guy at work...) Did you dump him off your training cart?

AFM- hm, woke up at about 4 this morning with tummy cramps so am guessing maybe ovulation? With the positive opk yesterday, ewcm, and my temp raised slightly... Post-natal body is hard to figure! I want to track it then post my charts on another post-natal thread so women can study them. Now I am wondering if I will have a super short luteal phase like last month.....
I got in a fairly good work out last night, I always have to wait until dd's go to sleep because when I lift weights they like to run circles around me and under the weights...ugh! Anyway, my triceps are starting to show a little. Now including bicep, etc.....

OMG whenever I try to concentrate my oldest dd starts TALKING. She seriously talks a lot  LOL! Perfect age for chatter-boxing. That's her sport. Chatter Boxing.

He's still here.. last day.. he's learning a lot.. not sure we can take the training wheels off yet though.

Ali- well try to look on the bright side--now you know what to tackle! I am going to research NK cells so that I have a better understanding...

 to you!!

2 1/2 of those pages are my manifesto. Jennifer: The Miniseries. Eeesh. I have been chatty today and am home alone.

What is the name of the migraine medication? You mentioned in an earlier post that you have some Xanax. For me, Valium is the only thing that will get rid of a migraine. A pain killer-Valium cocktail works the best (though it does make me woozy for a whole day, I will take that over a migraine any day! God they are miserable!) Have you tried taking the Xanax when you have the migraine? I have not found Xanax to be effective, but maybe that is just me.

I think it is great news that they have round the reason your little blasties are not implanting. Now they can fix it and get you knocked up!

Hm. Dh decided to go get his own stuff.

Was it something I said? :?

I am not trying to be a bee-otch, seriously, but there are times when it feels like I not only DO everyone's stuff for them but have (somewhere along the line) forfeited my rights to my own time. Sorry I am on a rant ladies, just a really tough morning. Usually my "tough days" are just cumulation of multiple days iykwim.
If I could do anything I wanted right now:

1)go for a run in the rain :rain: :cloud9:
2) work some weights
3) :shower:
4) :wine: and a great movie. Ahh... :laugh2:

Ali- please don't target yourself hon. You didn't kill anything- this is natural and can be fixed! :hugs:

Jen- "Jennifer: The Miniseries" lol! I love it! :haha:

I have been enjoying your posts - great info too, funny how small our world is! Ted Bundy (shiver) eee. No thanks!

Oh- and I am opk'ing as a means of self-understanding and self-control, lol! Not wanting to get prego just yet.

Last night, I snapped a photo of my husband, sound asleep, a teddy bear in each arm. I feel my days of doing household chores are over. Unless he wants his hockey team and his coworkers to see it, that is. Mwahahaha!

AWESOME!! That is so funny!

A bunch of my friends were saying that when they were pregnant, they craved alcohol in a big way. None of them drink, but when pregnant, they wanted to drink so much that they would sit and enjoy the smell of booze. It seems strange your body would so strongly crave something so bad for you! Have any of you experienced or heard of this?

Ali- well try to look on the bright side--now you know what to tackle! I am going to research NK cells so that I have a better understanding...

 to you!!

Not to worry.. I'm not blaming myself. Just frustrated we didn't know this earlier? I would have been pregnant by now and 1/2 way through my pregnancy! :grr:

I'm more worried about the options for treatment. He mentioned something alled IVIG which can run up to 10K a month and I'll need several treatments, like 9 months worth! So I'm hoping that we will find an alternative as that is not going to fly if it isn't covered by insurance!

Xanax with excedrine migraine and melatonin has been my cocktail at night recently. It has been somewhat effective. I need the melatonin to counteract the caffeine as I'm hyper sensitive to caffeine.

The new drug he gave me is called fiorinal. Don't know much about it other than it has a barbituate in it? I'm like really? Anyway, I will see what it is about when I pick it up this eve.

Coy - I haven't forgotten about you.. I have some ideas for you and your family! More later..

Hm. I know dh is in pain, but that is not my fault.
He was in pain before we got married! But it seems now that when his pain is elevated he gets angry with me. He says he's not but he plays with the dd's and acts all happy and when I walk in he glares at me. WTF ?! I guess a little bit like a kid, just has to have someone to get mad at and I'm IT?

I handle this crap the best I can but there are times when it really gets to me. Sorry ladies!!

I thought you were going to say fiorinal. I tried it once and it did not work for me, and it made me feel weird. Hopefully it will work beautifully for you. I feel so bad for you, as I know how miserable migraines are. When I have one, I walk around and around and around outside, because it distracts me. If I sit still, I feel so awful I can't stand it. The nausea is the worst part, I think. Well, a tie with the pain. I have had major, major abdominal surgeries, a blocked bile duct, and other fun stuff, so I have a super high pain tolerance, but migraines make me want to die.:growlmad:
