Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

AFM- I have such a headache ever since I started sticking myself. The doctor called they said my sugar was way high and they want me back tomorrow morning. Maybe I'm getting practice and I'll need insulin soon too. Anyway, I think its because I couldn't help myself saturday night. I had the best general tso chickens and I understand it has alot of sugar.

No coffee today:coffee: I forgot at lunch and had diet soda, but I'm on the water. I also went for a walk this morning and I'm staying away from the carbs... :happydance: when I can't workout I want to workout .. crazy:dohh:

Sam - had you been fasting before they took your blood? If so, then yes, you might have a blood sugar issue. I think you need to fast for at least 8 hours before they do glucose testing. Mine has been hovering right around 99 for the past few years. Which is right at the cusp of being pre-diabetic. EEK! I hope you get your bloods sorted out! Sorry about the headache too, I think I had them the first few days of the hormones. I do believe that my body adjusted to them over a few days and then the headaches went away. Hopefully they will for you too!

Twiggers- actually in looking at your chart I bet you get your positive within the next day or so. With W cm for the last few I bet you'll get ewcm very soon  that generally signals upcoming positive. And bear in mind you may just miss testing at the right time so keep bd'ing! I'm going to throw in a predication for positive opk for tomorrow just for fun!

Sam- I agree with Ali- you need to fast before getting your glucose level checked. What was the level, do you know? Here's an example. My fasting glucose can be between 75-80. I can eat 5-7 small saltine crackers and within 20 minutes it spikes to 170!! Within half hour it is down again but just goes to show how sensitive your blood can be.

AFM- So...my new criminology course. We have been formed into student-body teams. Each team member has to contribute a specified portion that has to be in a certain format, correct grammar, etc. Well this one lady waits until last minute to submit her portion to the team. Rather than defining how intake forms, request/release of info, intake assessments, etc, are used in a patient evaluation (this is for therapy, bla bla) she simply defines in two sentences what "assessment" means.

Totally not what we need. So 2-3 of us tell her she has to change it. She writes back "So- I did it wrong, huh? If you don't like it re-write it yourselves". :saywhat: Here's the problem- she'll get the same 100% A grade that the rest of us will get for doing absolutely NOTHING.

:growlmad: So I write my instructor and ask him to grade her separately :laugh2: I hope he does.

Anyway...that's my gripe for the day :haha:

OMG I slept IN! I slept until (and I am ashamed to admit this) 0930! lol, everyone else was up except for Aeryn and I :haha: I bailed so fast....shower, dress, feed and change, coffee, breakfast for dd's--let the dog out!!!! :argh: lol I am caught up now.

Glad you got to sleep in! I'm having fatigue issues, I went to bed at 8:30 last night and slept until 8:30 this morning. :saywhat: I think my thyroid is upset with me. I missed quite a few pills the past couple of weeks while I was sick and I fear that is causing my fatigue, dry skin/hair, and weight gain. I need to remember to take it EVERY night. UGH. Bad Ali!

That is crazy about your assignment. Why is there always one person that just wants a free ride? :growlmad: I hope she gets an F!

"That is crazy about your assignment. Why is there always one person that just wants a free ride? I hope she gets an F! "

Here here! I second that! :haha: Seriously- I work my butt off on team assignments- why can't everyone else? Last week the same lady submitted our team assignment to our instructor in a forbidden file format  Then he had to call me, have ME print and fax it to him  What a bunch of rigamarole. K. Here team is our BUTTs and here are our TWO HANDS, now see if they can find each other. :haha:

Yes, bad Ali, you need to take it even when you don't feel like it[-X lol.

K, got my errands finished...now I'm going to go cut firewood :cold:

I know, it isn't that I don't feel like it, it is more like I forget to! I used to leave it on my nightstand so I would remember. Then Zach decided that the bottle and the shaking noise it made looked like a toy so he grabbed it and without my knowing chomped through the bottle and ate almost an entire bottle! :dohh: He had to go to the doggie ER and have his stomach pumped! So I can't leave them on my nightstand. So now I have to use my brain to remember to take them and that apparently doesn't work too well when I'm tired and sleepy  Oh well, I will set a reminder on my phone, maybe that will help?

Sorry it is so cold over there.. do you heat your entire house with wood? Seems like there would be another way?

Twiggers.. I agree with Coy's comments and when I looked at your chart I thought the exact same. You need to look at the big picture all the time not just look for one indicator. Keep :sex: and good luck.

Coy.. I hated team assignments for the reason you just outlined, so not fair :growlmad:. Good on you for raising it with your tutor, I always s did the same.

Ali... are you feeling any better today Do you think it will take long for your thyroid to settle down again? :flower:

Sam, Terri, Phil and everybody else :hi:

AFM... Just about to finish work, go home and get dinner served to me as DH doesnt work a Wednesday :happydance:. Then time with my son, put him to bed, go out for a run and then get some more job applications started. Then go to bed with a cuppa and hopefully :coffee: before .

Oh and in case I haven't mentioned it I've only 6 days in work left!!!!!!!!:happydance:I may become skint but I am so happy and I know deep down that I have made the right decision taking redundancy

xoxo

No doubt! It is like trying to keep the Easter bunny, Santa Claus, the tooth fairy real for them! I remember when I realized they weren't real. It was a sad day :nope: Do you all remember when you realized that Santa wasn't real? OMG I was so sad. Then I hated myself for snooping. :growlmad:

Hello All,
I'm new to this forum and just wanted to say a quick hello! I just turned 37 Sat :[ and we have been TTC for over a year! I have 2 boys Ages15 & 6 and we have been trying for a sister to complete our family! We had a loss in Oct. 2012 and its been hard ever since! Obviously at my age fertility is an issue and it's been a long bumpy ride with no one to talk to!
I believe a lot of our problems are due to me being on medications for 5+ yrs for chronic back and neck pain! I've been totally med free for over 30 days so I'm hoping that will increase our chances!!!
Thanks for listening

Oops I didnt even think that 'skint' was just an Irish thing, sorry!:haha::blush: It basically means having no money. It's a very common phrase here, eg if a mate asks you to go out for a drink if we've no money we just say no I can't I'm skint...

You beat me to it Phil!
