What little things gripe you? Pet peeves? Come have a rant! :)

When you run around after guests for four days, make lovely meals, bake a birthday cake for their child, give up your bed for, wash their clothes and clean up after them all day long, only to have them miserable as shit most of the stay and want to do their own thing.

When we have wraps and there's too much chicken for one wrap but not enough for two....

My OH lying to me! I gave him some money on Monday for work which he said would last him all week (I'm away Mon-Fri). Then last night he asked for some more because he spent up saying he wanted something specific for his dinner; I was iffy as the money was needed in the bank for a DD. Nevertheless I sent him some more just because it was for food. Turns out he wanted the money for taxis so he can rush home to play his game. So now I'm risking being overdrawn because of his selfish lying act.

People telling me i cant drive. Ok if caught my car on tbe wall into work twice but itsbloody hard to park, people with 10 plus years driving have hit there cars on the same wall. Oh and ive had my license all of 3.5 months.

Ha ha ha my cars battered, i know i bought a £495 for a reason. Get my 1st year scrathes on a crappy car. You car maybe nice but whats the point, your most probs gonna hit something. And yes it cost more but when its financed i dont think it counts :grr:

People who behave like they are the first and last people who have ever had a child. Don't get me wrong, we were all there once, first time mum confused/scared/anxious/frustrated/emotional...

But some people act like they are the only people who have ever birthed a child before and the entirety of the earth should revolve around them. 'I can't ever message you back, I have a baby'. 'I definitely won't be able to make it to your birthday in 3 months time because I have a baby'. 'Can everyone in the restaurant STOP TALKING, I have a sleeping baby.'

I guess because I wasn't like that I just don't understand it. People act so precious nowadays it drives me up the friggin' wall!!

Good one! I agree!

I'm sure this has been said, and might offend others but this is what this thread is for, right?

Anyways..... families who bring their BABY into a fine dining restaurant (not like TGIFridays or Applebees types) but candle-lit tables with nice linen and well dressed servers. The baby whines and throws their items on the floor repeatedly, causing a scene. While others who are trying to enjoy a kid-free night and even splurged on a sitter, but have to hear the upset child and interrupt their nice date night. That grinds my gears so much!! I've experienced this on numerous occasions.

Don't get me wrong, I know families want to enjoy the nice food.. but get it as take-out or go elsewhere where it is kid-friendly. I also don't see how enjoyable it is for the parents of the squirmy/whiny child. Can someone try to explain to me why families do this? Thanks!

Great thread! I have a loong list of pet peeves.

People who comment about what's on my plate. (I'm a vegetarian.)

People who park in parking spots intended for expectant moms or parents with little ones :hissy: Don't even get me started!

People who drive slow in the passing lane

Hearing the phrase "I don't know how you do it" in reference to being a single parent. I don't know why, this should be something I appreciate but for some reason it isn't. It makes me feel pitied, or like people don't think I have a nice life.

All the 'throw away' stuff in our society. Disposable diapers, cuttlery, 'take out' containers, plastic cups, wipes, and many other things used on a daily basis... just picture a year's worth of all of that sitting in a landfill for eternity because that's literally what's happening.

Poor grammar/spelling.

Slow walkers

People who take the elevator to the 2nd floor (when there are stairs.)

Really loud sneezes

People who play music loudly. I don't want to be forced to listen to music I don't like lol

People who text/stare at phones when they are in company of family/friends

I must say I agree with this.

I took my daughter to a fine dining place for my birthday on Monday because my husband really wanted her there but she was fast asleep and has a tracheostomy so even if she did play up she can't make a sound. This is why we take her to the theatre and ballets too. Guess we milk the positives of it.

Oh I forgot the vegetarian thing! My OH and LO are vegetarian and if either of them has the slightest sniffle the inlaws suggest chicken soup or a nice big steak. They suggest it for everything from LO being constipated to him not sleeping, drives me mad!

Awww... that is true, making the best of the situation <3

when people blatenly lie!!
i work in a office owned by a guy, i dont work for him in the sense he doesnt pay my wage but i do actually do things for him when he isnt here. BASICALLY
there was just me and him in the office one day, he phoned me or i phoned him a few times and there was kids in the background which meant he was at home. the day after he was on the phone to someone proffessional he said to them 'oh im so sorry i didnt call you yesterday i was out of town in important meetings dealing with the business between me and you'
then just now as we speak, someone came in for a meeting but he is no where to be seen, so i called him again kids in the background, he said ill be 5 mins. 15 mins later he walked in and said 'im so sorry im late, i was just dealing with paper work'

also annoys me when people put 20£ instead of £20

Google autocorrect. I know what I meant, thanks ever so, it was a slip of the fingers.

People thinking reins are leads! I know loads of people disagree with them and no, they don't look great. But I'm not going to let my not even 18 month old daughter wander around a busy shopping centre or streets without them! How is she supposed to understand to stay close?! :dohh:

Jobs done half-assed, like the rubbish bag taken out but a new bin liner not put in. (See also: empty toilet roll removed but new one not put in.)

When someone has a car with an insignia that covers the boot lock, and they leave it flicked up all the time so it does not actually cover the boot lock.

Online grammar Nazis. I am an editor, so of course I notice errors (in about 95 percent of posts), but I have learned not to let them bother me. People who nitpick grammar errors online though... I would happily stab them with a fork. It's an internet discussion, not a freakin' thesis submission; lighten up, people. The lowest form of point-scoring, IMO.

There are undoubtedly more, as I spend about half my life throwing up my hands and shouting, "WHHHHHHHYYYYYY?" but it's been a long day and I can't think of any right now.

And when people don't have a logical answer in an argument so belittle a person for grammar and spelling errors.

This whole Russell brand revolution crap. Everything thinks the sun shines out of his bum but hasn't anyone realised he actually hasn't done anything. Nor will he. And his debating.... he has no logical answers and masks this by talking over people and using extremely big words so it sounds like he knows what he's talking about and like he ubderstands sociologocal concepts, And when he's pulled up on it he than insults people.
It's not real politics. You want a revolution? great! Stand up and actually do something then!
A revolution about what any? I don't really know.
In general I hate it when people use extremely large words in a debate to confuse, it just sounds like they know what they are talking about. Im not thick, I know what they mean but it's just arrogance imo

Agreed!

As for the Grammar Nazis... I will admit I used to be one, but now I don't even bother wasting my time to point out, even though the whole "You're/your, they're/there" etc really grinds my gears. But hey, it's the internet... who really cares?? :winkwink:

i can deal with seeing people smoke while pushing a pram, but i walked past a guy yesterday who had a very small child in his arms, while smoking a cigarette. disgusting!!

I actually can't stand seeing people pushing a pram whilst smoking. It annoys the hell out of me. I am a smoker myself but I don't smoke in front of the kids
