I'm a FTM and would love advice on what's been most helpful and necessary to have in your diaper bag.

It'd be especially helpful to know what you include if you're using cloth diapers.

Thanks!

10 Nappies (Mixtures of Sposies / Cloth)

I don't have a handbag anymore so my purse, phone and keys live in the change bag as well.

Now she is on solids a little tub with breadsticks and rice cakes and a beaker of water.
If we are out for more than a short walk then a bottle and formula.

I hardly take anything unless we are going to be out all day.

3/4 nappies
Pack of wipes
A few nappy bags
Clean vest/babygro
Couple of muslins/bibs

Hell, i dont even take a bottle/milk with me half of the time! I always have plenty space in the changing bag for my toddlers little things that she decides to bring along (juice/toys etc)

My number one tip is a clean top for urself!

One day my daughter was wearing a dress! She pooped I picked her up to change her her dress was up the poop came out the nappy onto my top and whilst she had a change of clothes I did not! Poor mummy was stuck in a poo top til I got home! I obviously did my best to clean it but I alway carry a spare top for me now also just incase x

My daughter is 6 weeks and this is what we have been bringing with us from the start. I have a fairly simple diaper bag for a typical outing. It all fits into a shoulder strap back pack (no huge diaper bags for me!)

2 clean cloth diapers, with or without 2 disposable inserts (I generally change her just before we leave)
2-3 cotton wipes for diaper changes and 1 dry cotton wipe for bottle feeding
1 extra outfit (usually a sleeper)
My wet bag
1-2 formula feeds (If I don't feed her before we leave, I take along her next prepared feed)
1 soother with cover
and my change mat

Not a lot in comparison to everyone else.
5-6 nappies
Pack of wipes
Nappy bags
Spare vest and grow
Changing mat
My purse

4 nappies
wipes
nappy bags
sudocream
change mat
hand gel
muslins!!!
A bib or 2 for dribble
teething gel
nipple cream
breast pads for first couple of months
change of clothes
my own bits and bobs
sometimes some toys

and finally the kitchen sink!!

2 bottles of pre-made formula, 2 cloth nappies, 1 changing mat, pack of wet wipes, nappy bags for used nappies (the throw away kind, not a wet bag). Then just my keys purse and phone. I wing it and don't take spare clothes.... This will backfire one day no doubt!

5 nappies
Travel changing mat
Nappy sacks
Nappy cream
1 pack baby wipes
2 bibs
1 vest
1 clean change of clothes
Calpol
Teething gel
Thermometer
2 dummies
Hand sanitiser
My painkillers
My purse
My phone
My keys

I don't use a handbag anymore so just put my things in the changin bag too.. If I can fit them in!

5 nappies
wipes
nappy sacks
bum cream
my hand cream
anti bac gel
spare clothes
purse
diary
pen
change mat
bibs
dummy steriliser

It depends how long we are out for and what times we are out but always

Nappies (how many depends on how long we're out)
Nappy sacks
Wipes
Travel changing mat
One full change of clothes (plus maybe extra if out for a long time)
Hats, mittens, booties (depending on time of year)
Sudacreme
Teething gel
Hand sanitiser
Muslins (2 but use to need more if out all day)
Wet bag (for dirty clothes etc)
Key, phone, purse, tissues and had cream for me

And sometimes
Bibs
Various foods
Bottles
(I normally take a separate bag if we are out for a while for these bits as we also need bottle warmer etc which won't fit in changing bag).

Thank you SO much to everyone who replied! I'm in the States, so would love it if someone can translate for me. What are: muslins, nappy sacks, and soothers? Are nappy sacks the same as wet bags (i.e. a zippered bag that's waterproof for holding wet clothes and nappies)? Are muslins used as burp cloths? Soothers has me stumped unless they're the same as pacifiers (but I think you call them "dummies")?

Thanks!

Nappy sacks here are just plastic bags used for disposing of dirty nappies. Soothers are pacifiers/dummies. I think muslins are the same as burp cloths, just fabric squares that are really handy for clearing up sick ups, sticky hands & acting as a cover.

4 nappies
pack of wipes
nappy bags
cotton pads
changing mat
wet bag
change of clothes (vest and sleepsuit)
cardigan
Hat and gloves (unless shes wearing them!)
2 cartons of formula
scissors
1 or 2 bottles
anti bac gel
keys, purse, phone
muslin and bib
1 or 2 of her toys

I have a big bag lol.

oh hand cream, painkillers, thermometer and dummy too.

4/5nappies for ds2
A pull up for ds1
Wipes
Change of clothes for ds2
Trousers and 3pairs of spare pants for ds2
Dummy in a case
2bottles with sterile water
Formula powder container
Flask with hot water for bottles
Hand sanitiser
Nappy sacks
Juice for both kids
Snacks for both kids
Lunch for ds2 (depending how long we r out for)
Small colouring book and crayons
2 toy cars
A rattle
Changing mat
7 bibs
Calpol
Keys
Phone
Purse

Think that's about it haha my changing bags massive

I had a huge bag when LO was tiny, and used to carry everything around with me.

Now I just take 2-3 nappies, wipes, nappy bags, changing mat, muslin square, a bib and tissues. If I'm going on a longer journey I'll take some snacks, a bottle and a change of clothes, but just for trips to the shop I don't bother.
