Just any hard cheddar cheese I would say

we found cheeses with a firm chedder-type texture were best, solid enough to hold without crumbling but soft enough to bite. Adam rejected Edam fairly early on, and he won't eat Babybels, think he doesn't get along with the more rubbery texture. he has had other cheeses (mozzarella, brie, goats cheese) cooked on pizza and melted on toast, which are great finger foods. all LOs are different, though, some might adore Edam and wensleydale and not want anything to do with cheddar.

we get these wee sticks in tesco- come individually wrapped, and about 6 of them in a wee net bag. yellow wrappers with toy story characters on them, pops loves them!! and are a great size to hold. cheap too.
